HoneyMum21 · 24/10/2012 18:59

Thanks all.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 24/10/2012 19:25

Oh spotty crap timing but at least dd is getting the treatment she needs!

EggsMichelle · 24/10/2012 20:34

Oh wow Honey, hope you get some updates quickly, I can imagine sitting and waiting is horrible.

BH appear to have started again, had a few weeks without any at all and now had them every day for the last few days, bath helps a lot. Finished work today, but got a very busy week ahead of me, don't think I'll even notice I'm off until Tuesday, at which point I will cry my eyes out cause I miss work:(

Spotty that's a lot on your plate, going to need military precision organisation.

ISpyPumpkinPie · 24/10/2012 20:39

OMG - my friend who was due the week before me has just given birth to a beautiful baby boy!! He was 5lb 9oz and they're both doing really well. So pleased for her, but a tiny bit freaked out too - absolutely no signs anything was going to happen any time soon at the baby shower on Sunday. Has spurred me into action so have been washing baby clothes and hanging the curtains in the nursery.

Honey - good luck! Thinking of you.

Stacey - really hope ypu manage to get something sorted that let's you all stay together.

Walnut - adding myself rather belatedly to the chorus of your Dr was bvu. As a fellow mum of a two year old I can really empathise.

Spotty - hope the treatment goes well for your DD.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/10/2012 20:40

No you won't Eggs you'll be looking forward to resting/Christmas shopping/batch cooking/napping/watching box sets Grin

EggsMichelle · 24/10/2012 20:55

Crap, I forgot about Xmas presents, I'm considering cancelling it (all ready asked my parents not to give us presents this year, they were not impressed)

cashmere · 24/10/2012 21:29

I'm getting period pains low down. Don't think they're BH as not tightening. Anyone else?
Sooo much to do at work and want at least a week off before baby puts in an appearance. It seems quite common to go off on mat leave and baby arrive quickly though.

emilyeggs · 24/10/2012 22:47

I get that casmere, like sharp period pains, they can stop me in my tracks and I have to stop what I'm doing. Dont know what it is Confused

emilyeggs · 24/10/2012 22:47

h

emilyeggs · 25/10/2012 07:09

Yay! A good nights sleep for once! On the train now to work then celebrating our 4 years together tonight! Grin

Walnut8 · 25/10/2012 07:22

Congrats Emily!

Sharp period pains .... that sounds a bit like early labor pains? I have sharp pains down below but more like pulled muscle or similar.

Honey I hope all is okay and you have plenty to read and watch! How long are they keeping you in?

Spotty, that is crap timing. Such a juggle!! Is it manageable do you think? Sounds an awful lot to me.

MaMaPo · 25/10/2012 07:28

Congrats emily! It's our 3 year wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks - must plan something nice.

I'm still not convinced I've had any Braxton Hicks - if I have, they've been subtle enough that I haven't noticed.

Honey, goodness, good luck.

I had better think about Christmas shopping too. Just need to buy for parents in law, and my husband's cousin and girlfriend who will be in London for Christmas. Everyone else is in Aus and so will forgive me for not sending anything. I am a slack old thing so they don't expect much! I have NO idea what to get for my husband's parents - they're quite well off, and his dad never buys anything, while his mum always buys everything she wants! They're at opposite extremes but it makes it difficult to buy for both of them.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/10/2012 07:36

Walnut I think it's manageable as I have parents who can help and also she will be able to walk in them. The baby will be born at least a week before they come off but at least that means dp will be home to help! I just feel sorry for get really!

I think lots of people can get painful braxton hicks but unless the intensity increases and they get closer together then you can be pretty sure that it is just that. I had painful ones with dd at about 34 weeks and phoned labour ward Blush I was 1cm dilated a couple of weeks later though so they must have been doing something!

Have fun tonight emily Smile

FriendofDorothy · 25/10/2012 07:54

I woke up at about 5am crying because I was convinced something had happened to my lovely husband. Nothing had happened of course and he was right next to me but it was so real and vivid and it took me ages to calm down. I still feel tearful this morning.

Clarella · 25/10/2012 07:57

Hoping all well this morning honey Xxx

emilyeggs · 25/10/2012 07:57

Thanks ladies, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary In may, I'm just being greedy now as it will be a last anniversary just us two Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/10/2012 08:00

Um......I should probably start packing yeah?! Lol I just cba at the min. My brain hasn't stopped and tadpole does not like me being stressed so has been going mental for the last 2 days!

Spoke to my dad yest and he said my brother isn't happy to share the house (which I knew would be the case) but as he's not paying for it fully ATM as his gf is unemployed, dads pointed out that they can't afford to live there alone either. So it may well come to the fact that if he won't share the house he will just have to move out. Really don't need this right now tbh. Keep having panic attacks which I don't think will help baby. God I hope this holiday does me some good!

My braxton hicks tend to only be painful if I try and move Hmm which is interesting when they are brought on by walking the kids to school! Lol or doing housework. Bending doesn't help me at all.

Congratulations emily enjoy your celebrations!

(is it just me who panics every time she sees congratulations on here and think people have started having their babies?! I think that'll scare me when it happens Confused)

SpottyTeacakes · 25/10/2012 08:09

I've put on a stone now! 9stone 8!!

Stacey it really doesn't seem fair that your brother is living somewhere more than big enough for him, paying minimal rent with no dependants whilst you're risking homelessness Hmm I think the holiday will do you good Grin I also only get braxton hicks when I'm moving or eating!

Cookiesandcream06 · 25/10/2012 08:22

honey hope all is ok have been thinking of you .
stacey that doesn't seem fair at all I really hope you get something sorted soon- these things work out in the end. I know it's a lot easier said than done but try and do some relaxing.
spotty last time I checked I had put on 2. Am no longer getting on those evil scales- a stone is really good! And I weighed more than that before I was preg! Envy
This is a TMI moment for the morning but I think I may have lost a little bit of mucus plug last night, I'm not worried but am now checking every time I go to the loo (which is obv quite often!)

Secondsop · 25/10/2012 08:32

honey hope all is going ok.

emily congratulations! Have a lovely evening.

stacey I do tend to agree with the others that frankly your brother should be bending over backwards to help you at this point, rather than only thinking about what he prefers. Family resources should be deployed to help those who need them most.

walnut my Braxton hicks have mainly manifested by my tummy getting hard and tight although sometimes recently there is a spot in the middle near my belly button that feels sore and that I have to rub. I find that exertion tends to bring them on, in particular if I walk at anything faster than a snail's pace.

I have medical appointments all afternoon that would have involved leaving the office before 1pm and given the unwelcome return of morning sickness I'm not going into the office before then. I am feeling bad about letting a close colleague down about something I said I'd do with her but have offered to be dialled in on the phone for it, but I know she is quite work-stressed at the moment plus isn't looking forward to my maternity absence as we are good friends who do a lot of work together.

I still haven't packed my flaming hospital bag! Am 33 weeks today so am nearing the "anything could happen" phase, aren't I, so should really get my act together.

EggsMichelle · 25/10/2012 08:50

My SIL had her baby last night, 10days over due, very long labour and needed forceps in the end Confused I really hope Shrimpy doesn't keep up the family tradition of enormous babies!

34wks today, officially on leave from work and enjoying my lie in. Sadly my breakfast in bed has been cancelled as DH been up most of the night talking to his brother, I'll have to get up and make my own coffee!

I have been getting period like pains, but a trip to the toilet or a good fart sorts it out [hblush]. And my whooping cough vaccine really hurts, did anyone else have the combined tetanus one?

FriendofDorothy · 25/10/2012 08:53

I think they only do the combined jab. My arm is still aching 2 days later!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/10/2012 09:00

My wc jab stopped hurting on day 3 and the nurse said they only offered the one with tetanus too, but a suppose a tetanus booster isn't a bad thing!

Thanks for the support guys, it's nice to have people to moan at talk to. My brother is notoriously selfish and I knew he'd react like this. I'm supposed to be going over there to collect post before holiday but I think I might wait until we get back to let the dust settle.

Right let's get packing :)

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 25/10/2012 09:10

Stinking headache and swollen hands [hangry][hsad][grumpy]

HoneyMum21 · 25/10/2012 09:26

I just had a baby. Can I still lurk round here with you lot instead of moving straight to postnatal?
