Seeing as practically all of us have now got pg, here is a new home for all of us to come to carry on chatting after getting the BFP after our mcs. Today we are pregnant! :)

Thanks Wilde. That's what I hoped but did wonder. Smile

Is difficult with other children around, I understand; sometimes you just need a break physically and mentally even tho you love them more than anything? Try not to worry - he will have to get used to sharing you, and he will - very quickly. Am sure he will surprise you!

Hi snow! Glad you had a super hol - as you say a few more weeks and then you're there. And as you sound exceedingly busy I'm guessing it will pass quickly. Can't believe you are 27+. Grin

Sheldon, how is your beautiful DD? Still smiling? DS4 giggled properly - as in joined up laughs - this morning. Melted my heart, again.

Boo - thinking of you! Grin

booboomonster · 14/05/2013 16:04

Hello everyone!

Wouldn't it be nice if this was a baby announcement? Sadly not.

ice I would have said same as Wild - they def settle down after a while and start feeling almost normal. Re the bottle - are you mix feeding? That might make supply go down, I've heard, but I've never done it. But either way, wild is wise - he will be getting enough and will take more if it's needed. Sometimes if that happens you do get fuller breasts again, but otherwise it's def normal to be softer after a few weeks/ months.
How lovely to hear giggling too!!

Glad you had good hols snow! Little to be jealous of here, nowt going on! It feels eons away... At least busy work will keep you occupied - I have found I have more time to worry/ obsess since stopping work! It will come round fast.

No sign of owt here. Sigh. I spent the day cleaning pretty much (my cleaner is off sick). I thought it was the ideal opportunity to get down on all fours and do lots of walking/ climbing stairs etc. But haven't felt a twinge. Apart from knackered.... Feel quite constructive though, in terms of the house so at least that's something (whispers - I quite like cleaning Blush). I feel actually strangely comfortable - it just doesn't seem like this babe is going to come out. Ever!?!?!?! Can you imagine? No, I do realise it does have to at some point. If I could just have it on the old calendar so I don't have to worry about it that would be very nice... Grin.

Thanks for thoughts, btw, thinking of you too wild!

icequeenkate · 14/05/2013 17:26

Am becoming obsessive with my checking up on you both.

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 08:05

boo did you give birth, did ya did ya?!

I did not! Slept quite well but am so sore today, my back etc is just so bad. Boo.

Have realised am actually quite stressy now waiting for the final word on my corrected thesis from my examiner at uni... Need to know if she is going to let me pass, in which case I can have a baby, or not, in which case baby needs to hang on a few days longer while I just blitz the last remaining niggles! I haven't put all.my uni work away yet, put it that way.

This is holding me up isn't it. I emailed the examiner last night and hope to hear today (will check email all day like a loon) then can have my sweep and a baby, hopefully. For some reason I dont think he will.be here till next week tho. Just a hunch.

Hope everyone is well? I went to my friends house for labour day lunch yesterday, was lovely!

OP posts:
booboomonster · 15/05/2013 10:41

wild - nope!

ice YOU are becoming obsessive!?! I am checking Mumsnet day and night (and in between).

Glad you had a nice labour day wild - it's a good idea to plan something on these days so it's not so frustrating. We will look back and remember this as a lovely peaceful anticipatory time.... Grin. Do you think your nerves re: phd are holding you back? Can you follow up your email with a phone call? I wish I could put it down to something like that, but I don't have anything in mind. Is your sweep today? Back ache sounds pretty positive, btw - early labour sign etc. Good luck with impending sweep!

I actually felt very crampy last night - although it felt a lot like baby was stretching out and pushing and kicking me from inside but it was quite ouch-y and period-y. It went on for quite a while and I was bouncing and rocking on my ball to encourage it. I was almost starting to think it might settle into waves of contractions, but then it subsided. Had a few aches overnight too but actually slept better than I have for a while - probably partly because I had done such a workout with the cleaning yesterday!

Today nothing!

DD2 (dressed as snow white over PJs) and I are making play doh worms today (and I am mumsnetting). Trying to get the washing sorted too. Keep trying to send telepathic messages to the baby - I am ready... though also quite want to see The Great Gatsby at the cinema which I could only fit in with the girls school hours on Friday... so maybe babe should wait 'til then.

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 13:43

More checking :)

Great Gatsby! Yes! In the daytime too, what a treat! Hold on babyboo!

Hehe bless your dd! Love it when they dress up.

Have back ache and period pains every day :( means nowt for me! Took ds to the park and have been on feet most of day in vain preparation for the sweep later. Am sure she will tell me am not at all ready... But at the same time I haven't actually realised it could make me go into labour tonight! In which case I should enjoy these last few hours solely with ds! Nah, next week he will be here.

Are you still.driving boo? Or.cycling even!! I am driving but sets off bh and I quite hate it.

Had email from.uni - my examiner has sent my thesis for a final.check.to another examiner. She doesn't need to do that! Whyyyyy do thaaaaaaat! Let's really drag it out peeps. Pffffff.

Why does sitting on my settee set off really bad period pain?!

Have fun making worms boo :) we are making brownies (after watching robots dvd and.mumsnetting)...

OP posts:
booboomonster · 15/05/2013 14:17

I'm sure all these pains must be doing something... I keep thinking - maybe actual labour will be that much easier after all this 'prep'? I didn't really have pains beforehand with either of the DDs so it's all a bit new to me.

I am still driving. Not cycling though - bump gets in the way, and I think walking is better for shaking baby down, as it were! Wonder why driving sets off your BH? Is it the vibrations? I am driving later for DD1s swimming lesson. Cue another series of worried looks (will she go into labour?!) as I enter the pool... In fact, I wonder what happens if your waters go in the swimming pool? That would be interesting...

Double checking at Uni - what does that mean?? Good, bad or nothing just delay?!

Yes we made worms and fingernails and then DD2 got messy with paint. I made an apple and banana cake - improvised as had manky fruit left. Tasty though! Now, can I get an hours kip before DD1 needs picking up...?

I am 40+5 - time is ticking on.... potential of induction nearing ever closer... Though on bright side original due date is tomorrow, so maybe she'll adhere to that Grin. (though yes Great Gatsby would be fun and DH is off too so we could have a cheeky daytime cinematic trip together!!)

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 15:10

Aw daytime cinema date :) very envious!

Have they spoken to you about when induction might be? Eek!

Bh comes on because of changing gear loads I think! Country roads...

Being in a pool would be amazing! I couldn't fit into my old maternity cossy as am a size bigger than when pg with ds (have put on loads this pg but not fussed) and am still paranoid about bleeding even tho all my bleeding stopped a couple of months ago. Lordy knows what would.happen if your waters went! Hehe! Would it happen tho do you think, or would your body sort of wait for a more convenient time?!

Will hear from uni on Fri. I have decided double checking is obviously bad but tbh it is.probably just them being thorough, keeping each other in the loop and er, the fact everything takes five gazillion years. I have told dh I.couldn't feel less ready to have a baby until I know so not to fret about the sweep (he is stressed about organising paternity leave and the fact he could be a dad again tomorrow if the sweep works!)

Am not looking forward to getting my nethers out. I didn't use to mind it but having had so many people rummaging around up there this pg I.have got more and more squeamish. And I don't want to be told I am no where near having a baby... Altho saying that the hardest part of my week is over now as ds is in nursery tomorrow and Friday and then it is the weekend :). Sofa time!

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 15:14

Ps snow loved your holiday pics. Gorgeous! And cannot believe you are 27 weeks :)

Waving to twenty x

OP posts:
WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 17:11

am all stretched and swept :) 90% effaced, 3cm dilated, cervix right at the front and they haven't made me an appt for next week Grin

They said my backache was all part of getting ready for labour. I really thought it was just from lugging my girth about!

Backache has ramped up a treat already and I have a bowling ball between my legs. And DH is going out for a bit while I cook DS' tea but standing is a struggle. I know this is quite usual afterwards but didn't think it would hurt this much this soon.

anyways. better get on with cooking pasta!

icequeenkate · 15/05/2013 17:50

Go Wilde go! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Oooh am sure there will be an announcement by morning! How exciting.... PUSH! when the time comes, obviously Sounds like a sweep will do the job. I hope all goes smoothly for you Wilde - am sending calming, stretchy, pushing type vibes your way.

Boo - would be funny if babyboo did wait til after The GG at cinema on Friday! Maybe your backaches are the same as Wilde's, in fact I am sure they are confident knowing look on face

DS4 had his 16 wk jabs today (as he was exactly 16 wks old today) - c'mon babywilde!

Oh Wilde and Boo (and Snow soon) you have so much deliciousness to look forward to Grin friggin' hormonesWink

icequeenkate · 15/05/2013 17:51

Bowling ball - that'll be your waters then Wink

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 18:29

16 weeks already! Wow time flies!

Contractions all calmed down so guess was a post sweep effect but still very bad backache and have packed ds off to grandma's just so I can have some space to relax. He won't be home until after nursery tom so lots and lots of time to labour or watch the apprentice at my leisure.

Bouncing on ball and just chilling :)

Arf bowling ball is back! Eeeeeeek.

booboomonster · 15/05/2013 19:33

Go wild! Sounds all v hopeful! Just posting on phone now, will check in later - keep us updated (if poss!) xx

Sheldonella · 15/05/2013 20:42

Ooh wilde that sounds very encouraging. That is how I was at my sweep and I went into labour at 1am!

boo Cheering you on too!

We had 1st immunisations yesterday and have a very stressed out little baby this evening. She was mostly ok yesterday. Poor little thing!

WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 22:00

Contractions irregular and unpredictable but am in a lot of pain of varying types and degrees! Think am going to try and go to bed but tbh think am in just a wee bit too much pain to relax into sleep.

We shall see... I hope I do have the baby tonight because poor ds hates staying at grandma's so getting him to go back soon if this is a false alarm will really unsettle him :(

OP posts:
WildeRumpus · 15/05/2013 22:03

Thinking of you Sheldon and ice with your poor babies' jabs! So horrible!

booboomonster · 15/05/2013 22:55

Go go go wild!! Am jealous! And chuffed for you! Loads of luck will check phone again.

icequeenkate · 16/05/2013 07:45

What news? What news?

WildeRumpus · 16/05/2013 08:10

Hehe no baby!! What am I like?! All tailed off around 9ish, had some fish and chips and then went to bed at midnight when felt comfy enough to sleep. Had contractions on and off after getting up for the loo but am.fine today! Really tired actually tho. And sicky. Might slope back to bed.

We have found his name tho which is super pleasing and it isnt any we have shortlisted for months :) can't wait to meet him now... And my favourite mws are on call tonight so might just wait :)

Sorry dudes!

boo did you have a baby?!

OP posts:
icequeenkate · 16/05/2013 09:23

Blimey Wilde - this one is certainly stringing you along! Fingers crossed for today then.

Boo? Wink

DS4 was poorly last night. Sad Was up with him from 11.30-5.30. He reacted to having all 3 jabs, bless him, and felt like a roasting potato. Used calpol for first time, and his face was a picture - akin to that of DH when he has first sip of his pint or me when I hear pop of champagne bottle . Can safely assume he likes it Grin in the end I had him in with me and he fell asleep on the boob for comfort. Knackered, but was one of those special moments when only I can help him, if you know what I mean?

Sheldon - how is DD this morning? You said she was unsettled after her jabs too?

Snow - where did you go on holiday? And did I hear you say that you mark exams? I used to do some of that too - gosh it was a thankless task. Mind you, got a laugh from some of the answers!!

Brew and Biscuit anyone?

booboomonster · 16/05/2013 10:17

Hello! I can't believe it wild, it all sounded imminent! And it's such a lovely day today - I was thinking this morning on school walk, 'what a great day to have a baby!' No news here either - still getting the odd pain but nothing regular at all. Going to go for a long walk now to help things along...

Glad you have name anyway wild! I think we are decided too.

Hope the jabs have gone down ok ice and sheldon - it's hard seeing baby upset! Sorry to keep you guys in suspense Grin!

Re: induction, wild, I will see midwife and have another sweep on Saturday, then on Monday I will have to go to the Daily assessment unit, have another scan and monitoring and probably another sweep. Based on this I will either be encouraged to be induced or told I can wait for a bit. Usually it's 14 days after due date, but because of the big baby estimate I have been told 41 +3 is their recommended induction day. Obviously I can refuse this, but if the scan shows a 12 pound whopper I might feel it's time is up!

So fingers crossed something happens before then. Today is my original due date... feeling hopeful Grin.

Good luck to you too wild!

booboomonster · 16/05/2013 10:20

ooh sorry spent so long typing that (mum phoned) so didn't see your post, ice. Poor DS4, at least you were there to comfort him. Hope he's better today.

Pity we can't hand round one of your lovely newborns ice or sheldon to get things going... (it's supposed to help isn't it?!)

Have good days all!

WildeRumpus · 16/05/2013 11:38

I knooooooow. This baby is hilarious, I love him so much. He has spent the whole pregnancy being fretted over and scanned etc etc because things sort of seem to happen 'around' him while he is just completely oblivious and simply going about doing his shiz. I really feel like this is how he will be in real life :) Such a content chappy with no idea of the bluster around him :) :)

have strong backache etc today, very distinct baby-pains but nothing to make me stop or even take paracetamol yet (live off the stuff, bit sick of taking tabs tbh!) so me and DH are going out for lunch together. LOVELY. Then we shall get DS from nursery and I will probably keep him home now try not to ship him out when it turns into active labour. I want my family around and seem to have strongest contractions when that is the case! (weird I know but DH can take care of him while I labour somewhere privately). I think this might stem from what you say about holding newborns boo as I feel very loved up with DS around and quite clingy when am feeling laboury. When he goes out with DH to give me peace and 'help labour progress' I feel more fretful and really miss him. Must be hormones so if I keep him close maybe the loved up hormones will help labour develop?

boo you are busy with your sweeping and induction appts. Saturday is very close, hopefully this sweep will get you going and the niggles are all getting you that bit closer. Every day feels so long but really when we look back we will hardly remember this phase (well, I think I will - three weeks of latent labour is enough!)

sorry to hear about DS4 being poorly ice. Boob helps sooooo much with jabs, has painkillers in the milk and everything doesn't it. Has made me feel all gooey about being the mum to a teeny wean again and being That Person they need (altho obvs would rather they were well! Oh dear do I sound a bit munchausens by proxy-esque?!!!)... Hope he isn't too narky today. Lots of Brew and Biscuit!!

hope your bubs is ok Sheldon
