I was told as a teenager it was unlikely I'd be able to have kids easily as I'd fecked about with my weight so much when I was going through puberty. Imagine my surprise when I fell preggers whilst on the pill!

LOVE liberty too. Liberty Claire was on our list until we realised it would be shortened to Libby. Our surname has a double b in it too so it would sound horrific - yw I'm sure will back me up!

ShellyBobbs · 18/09/2012 14:37

I've put the piccy on now :)

YellowWellies · 18/09/2012 14:52

See MM1 I reckon that's quite catchy with your surname... but I bagsied Liberty Wink

MissMummy1 · 18/09/2012 14:55

DH vetoed it. I think refusing 99% of my girls names is his way of convincing himself we're having a boy!

horseylady · 18/09/2012 14:59

Yellow - I'm not sure. I stopped taking contraceptives 5 years ago, then we were actively trying for 2 years. Ironically we'd just started having tests etc when I got the positive result!! My bloods were all normal etc. He had booked his appointment. In some ways it was for the best it took us so long as our debt is now practically clear bar a bit on one credit card and our mortgage.

So perhaps it wasnt meant to be before now? Who knows!!

ShellyBobbs · 18/09/2012 15:14

That happened to 2 of my friends Horsey, it's really weird.

CandyPop · 18/09/2012 15:15

i went into work for a total 1 1/2 hr but had to come home again to see the doc. My belly is just SO itchy, like unbearably. had doctors appointment and shes given me some eumovate ointment but not sure if its gonna work [sceptical]. Itchiness eases when i dont have any clothes on ie. no fabric on belly but i cant walk round walk with my tummy out!!! argh its so annoying Angry

we're still stuck on a girls name too...... feels like we're running out of time..... oh dear......

StuntNun · 18/09/2012 15:16

Chick my DH has lovely blue eyes and a dimple. Two sons so far with brown eyes and no dimple. I've given up on the dimple but I'm still holding out for the blue eyes!

VQ I'm very conscious that I seem to be making all the decisions re delivery but can't help wondering whether DH should have some input. He's been through all this twice before as well so he knows what's what about VBACs, delaying cutting the cord, pain relief, recovery from cs, etc.

I'm secretly worried that DS3 won't look or feel like a Johnathan when he's born Blush
We have no back up, he's always been the same name but I do worry.

ShellyBobbs · 18/09/2012 15:37

Tits I've only ever had one boy and girl name for each of mine, luckily I've never looked at them and gone naaaah! In fact, the last one we had only agreed on a girls name and both liked a separate boys name so good job little Erin was a girl Grin

kissyfur · 18/09/2012 16:21

Thanks for the views on names Smile. Twas me who mentioned Liberty YW - steal away! Wink i love it too but am veering towards Sasha I think

shelly super cute pic of your littlest 2 ! I hope my 2 will be like that

YellowWellies · 18/09/2012 16:28

I think 'not meant to be' also plays a huge role actually Horsey as you suggest. I thank god (well I would if I wasn't an atheist) that I never got knocked up by my awful ex. It would have been horrific, I'd have been a single Ma, he'd have not paid a penny or offered any support and I'd likely have never met my wonderful DH.

YellowWellies · 18/09/2012 16:31

Ta kissyfur for the lovely suggestion and letting me commit gross name theft. Now given if we are team pink I'll have essentially suggested both the first and second name (and have managed with no effort, i.e. sheer luck - to find that DH likes them too) - how on earth do I suggest a third name of my choosing!!!!! Blush

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/09/2012 17:18

Spent 3 hours at an animal park this aft with two good friends. Had a great time but now I ACHE!

Had a nice nap with ds earlier which really helps.

I had a serious case of nesting this morning. Did the washing up, hoovered the whole flat inc little nooks and crannys. Then went through all my clothes and bagged up old stuff, shoes, bags general junk.
Feel great for having done that, plus my flat looks really good now!

FatimaLovesBread · 18/09/2012 17:43

Can't believe how quickly the thread is moving.

WRT plans for more babies. This is DH and mine's first. COnceived after lots of years of trying and eventual IVF so the decision as to whether have more may not be ours to make. We have a frozen embryo left over from this attempt so we'll probably use that and if that doesn't work then who knows. I always said I wanted 2 or 3 but I don't know whether I could go through another full round of IVF. I might feel differently in the future, and obviously it would depend on finances. Hard enough deciding whether you can afford another, let alone whether you can afford IVF to try for another Smile

We haven't got any names yet. We've got a roughish shortlist but probably won't decide to he or she is here

kirrinIsland · 18/09/2012 18:00

georgee I hadn't thought of lack of Hair being a lack of male hormone thing, but that know that you mention it I am getting away with shaving my legs less and less and I do know I'm having a girl, so maybe there's something in it?

DH if you fancy popping round here for a clean up you are more than welcome!

I know a liberty - she's gorgeous! I'll admit I didn't like it when I first heard it but it's really grown on me.

My midwife asked me to think about my birth plan in time for my next appointment in 4 weeks. I'm thinking the 'head in the sand' approach is the way forward. I'm much more nervous second time round. The 'ignorance is bliss' approach really worked for me with DD!

Lilliana · 18/09/2012 18:48

Wow, after an epic read I've finally caught up and now need to go!

Been offered a flu jab - usually I don't bother but wondering if I should as pg and working with lots of children or if I should I stay well away - not sure how it effects baby.

TheDetective · 18/09/2012 18:51

Sorry to contradict matters!

Boy bump, and lack of leg hair growth here too! I noticed quite early on (around 10 weeks) that my leg hair was a) slower to grow b) not as stubbly and c) lighter. I think it is something a lot of pregnant women notice, but I don't know why. Although if I could be bothered to think about it, I could probably come up with an answer. But I can't be arsed Grin

I do have a fine growth of blonde hair across my tummy though Hmm and we won't even go there with the pubic hair

Can I just take a moment to say, DP must have taken on board our 'conversation' argument from the other night. I have got up and the house is spotless. Considering he has been in work today, he must have done it all last night (I went straight up to bed this morning!). I also found a cleaning schedule on the white board in the kitchen, devised by himself Grin. Oh my... could get used to this Grin. However he seems to have polishing on the list nearly every day! I polish once a week usually so the house will be sparkling from now on :)

ValiumQueen · 18/09/2012 19:10

lilianna flu jab protects baby. They would not give it if it hurt them. Flu can be very dangerous when pregnant. If you breastfeed you continue to protect the baby as they are too small to have the jab themselves. I found out I was pg with DD2 the week they advised women to not get pregnant in the height of the Swine Flu epidemic. I had the jag at 16 weeks, and shortly after they advised not to have it prior to 24 weeks I think it was. I was worried she would be born with problems as there was a lot of bad press. She is fine, but I have never had chest infections before the jag, and get them frequently now. I would have the jag again, and plan to request it soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/09/2012 19:30

kirrin as long as there's muffins at the end I don't mind!

WaitingForMe · 18/09/2012 19:31

I'm another with a boy, legs that aren't hairy but a fuzzy bump.

My 30th was great. Just immediate family in a yurt in the garden eating and drinking. Will have to have a mad one for my 40th!

kirrinIsland · 18/09/2012 19:31

I was offered the flu jab too - I'm booked in for next wed. I had it when pregnant with DD and didn't hesitate this time either.

NervousAt20 · 18/09/2012 19:40

stunt with decisions to labour its something that every decision me and DP will talk about and take both views into consideration but for me personally I know that what it would ultimately be my decision and whatever choice I made he would be fine with and support me through it. If baby is back to back would they give you a section if you asked for it?

Glad you enjoyed your break and massage evil

I had a mum to be massage today and it was lovely feel much more relaxed, they made me lie on each side while they massaged my back and legs then I lay on my back for a few minutes while they finished at the end - haha that pillow is hilarious

shelly the blanket looks lovely and soft

shelly Erin is one of my favorite girls names but DP is set on something different, I really like the name too but just don't want to pick one until she's here

We will hopefully have more in the future but I'm thinking not until this LO is at LEAST in school, I don't think I could cope being pregnant and having a toddler all day

Hmm I'm sure there was something else but can not think for the life of me...

TheDetective · 18/09/2012 19:56

I want another baby in about 3 years, with DS being an only child for so long, I want this baby to have a sibling nearer its own age! And I'm only 27, so I'd like to think this won't be my last!

Can anyone recommend any particular sheepskin liner? I'm after something cosy for the swinging chair and bouncer, rather than the pram. Anyone direct me in any good places?!

StuntNun · 18/09/2012 20:12

Nervous I had an ante-partum haemorrhage ending in emergency section under GA with DS1 so I'm a candidate for a section anyway, it's my choice whether to go for section or vaginal birth. With DS1 the epidural didn't 'take' and I have a woefully low pain threshold so I don't think I could cope with an unusual labour. I'm hoping everything will go smoothly with another VBAC like last time though FC.

We've just had people round to view the house so it is temporarily spotless, thus appeasing any nesting requirements. I wonder how long it will stay that way (starts stopwatch).
