Meant to say, I do keep the same midwife (and trainee) all the way through. It's nice she remembers me and my son. Last time I was living in London until I was twenty weeks and didn't even know my midwifes name.

MrsBri · 28/11/2012 21:48

I only sip water during the night, Cola, and barely have to go for a wee. I have a bladder of steel though, due to holding it forever at work when I'm too busy to go!

We're going to forget where we're having our conversation too...could get baffling for everyone! :-)

WingDefence · 29/11/2012 10:11

Guinea you have to remember to drink more! Squash and even tea would count if you don't want water (but not Wine probably Grin).

Curiosity I thought I'd have more continuity of MWs up here as opposed to in London when I don't think I saw the same MW once :( But it's not happened yet... I am still hoping for a home birth against DH and DP's wishes and a big part of that is because of the crap MW care I had last time. The thought of having two MWs just for me, the whole way through is a MASSIVE pro for me although at this rate I may not have met them before anyway Hmm

DS is much better but the friend we have to look after him every other week is ill herself today so I've had to take it as leave to look after him. It has been one of those weeks and I can't even drink a ton of Wine tonight to compensate. Grr!

Hope you're all keeping warm on this freezing day :)

CuriosityCola · 29/11/2012 12:18

I read that wrong and thought you had 'big love' with a dh and dp Grin

I don't think I was clear that I have the same midwife before and after, but will just be whoever is at the hospital for the delivery. Not brave enough for a home birth.

I'm really tired today, but have no symptoms. Very strange. Praying ds goes for a large afternoon nap, so I can too.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 29/11/2012 12:26

I'm back (me who had the miscarriage last month)!!
Not making any plans for this one until we have our private scan (booking it next week if I'm still upduffed then) & the 12wk out the way.

at everyone

Wing, hope your week ends better than it started!
Cola, hope you get your nap soon.

CuriosityCola · 29/11/2012 13:50

Welcome back! Smile How are you feeling?

I had a fabulous nap thank you.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 29/11/2012 14:57

Just had a moment where I realised I have two heartbeats at the moment - how amazing is that? Smile

I know this is DC3 and I really should have 'got' this by now but I just find it absolutely incredible that my body can grow and carry a whole other person Confused

Anyway, back to work now ... just wanted to share as I don't think anyone in RL (postgrad office at Uni) would really appreciate it Grin

(p.s. thank you for bearing with me through my over-use of emoticons! Grin

tiredteddy · 29/11/2012 16:46

Oh guinea I feel exactly the same! I don't think the magic of pregnancy is any less just because we've experienced it twice before. It's such an incredible thing that our bodies can create a whole new person. Can't wait to meet my dc3, only 7 weeks to go now. I'm starting to feel a little nervous about the birth though!

curiosity naps are the way forward. That is the one thing I'm making sure I do as often as possible in these last few weeks while I have the boys at school.

Welcome back gary so pleased you are here again so quickly.

MrsBri · 29/11/2012 17:55

Yay, Gary :-)

So pleased you're back!

WingDefence · 29/11/2012 20:14

Ooh ooh I had forgotten to think of the extra heartbeat!

I remember telling everyone with DS that I couldn't believe I had a WILLY inside me!!! Grin

But the absolute most amazing thing I find, more than hearts, lungs and even willies is the fact that you and I are making EYES. Wow. I mean, just wow.

Gary welcome back! Although referring to a 'Gary' on the fred is going to be a little bit weird Wink

In other news, BT is seriously hacking me off now with this broadband issue. Even trying to get into this page on my iPad failed twice before it worked. Hmm

WingDefence · 29/11/2012 20:17

And blimey tired, only 7 weeks? So in reality that could be 5...?!

tiredteddy · 29/11/2012 20:34

Ha ha wing yep it's 33 weeks tomorrow. However neither of the bots were early so I've told this one not to break the tradition. In fact both boys had edd of 20th of the month and both arrived one day early on the 19th. Labours both very similar too building up during 18th going to hospital at midnight ds1 born by 8.45am ds2 born by 6.45am. Now ds1 was a suprise on the pill Blush and ds2 I came off the pill but fell pregnant first month. So dc3 was the first cycles I payed attention too. They averaged 26 days which has put edd at the 18th this time so if I follow pattern labour will start and I'll have another birthday on the 19th jan! (in a perfect world of courseWink)

Pineapple80 · 30/11/2012 15:03

Wow tired not long to go at all! Exciting times ahead!

Hi gary Smile

5 days till we leave for Oz! Most of packing is now done and it'll be collected on Monday. I'm now about to go for a haircut, much needed pamper time!!

How is everyone doing today? Plans for the weekend?

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 30/11/2012 16:19

Good luck with the move pineapple - think you need that pamper after packing up your life. And you are leaving this dreary winter!

Tired - I love the idea of numbers and symmetry - would be great if it went to plan like that!

Don't know how you're coping wing I'm addicted to the internet!

And waves hello to gary

Sorry I can't namecheck all - no more room on screen and I should really be shutting laptop down and getting a move on.

No specific plans (other than trouser shopping!) but for once I'm looking forward to weekend because for the first time in ages I feel like I've got a bit more energy and may not actually want to sleep the whole weekend. Hope everyone else has a good weekend - catch ya later...

WingDefence · 30/11/2012 18:35

Evening all!

Only five days Pineapple? So in a week's time, when it's freezing cold like it was today when I worked in my dressing gown and had a fan heater blasting at me most of the day, don't you dare come back on this fred and tell us that you've been to the beach!!! Wink Grin

This weekend I will be mostly baking. Tomorrow is the village Xmas fair and I've got to make biscuits to sell (er, not sure if my biscuits have ever been sellable!) for the church stall and a tray bake (buttercream and covered in sweets yum) for the preschool table. Then DH and I are doing the refreshments after church on Sunday morning so I've actually bought a load more biscuits for that but have promised DS that we'll make chocolate crispie things too, even though he won't be there because across the road, at the same time as church, he'll be at a 5th birthday party in the village hall.

I might get to put my feet up on Sunday afternoon... Hmm

DH is on his way back after three days away but stuck in awful traffic so goodness knows what time he'll be back. Before I go to sleep hopefully!

ChildOfThe1980s · 01/12/2012 14:57

Hi all.

We had a really nice cold walk in the forest earlier and are all knackered now.

Pineapple80 · 01/12/2012 22:39

child - that sounds lovely and peaceful walking the ought the forest. Hope you got some rest and enjoying the weekend.

Yes we will be back in warmer climes in a week's time! We have been packing furiously all day and started packing our suitcases too which is a challenge trying to work out what to pack for summer and also work out what will last us the next couple months before our shipped boxes arrive! I also had a big cry tonight as it just dawned on me we are leaving this lovely country where we have made many lovely friends and had wonderful experiences. I think it's partially PG hormones too!!

Thanks stuck Smile

wing how did your baking turn out?

notsoold · 02/12/2012 00:57

Hi ( looking with trepidation and afraid to hope)
Got a bfp yesterday altough so early ( expected period is on the 4th December) so I duly poas again this morning and another faint +ive...
Do you girls have a waiting room for those afraid to mess with luck by being here ????
Hello to everybody btw!!!!

Pineapple80 · 02/12/2012 01:26

Hi notsoold!! Welcome Smile

How exciting for you! Have everything crossed for you!

notsoold · 02/12/2012 15:58

Thank you Pineapple!!!

StuckOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 02/12/2012 16:56

congrats notsoold!

Well hope all have had a good weekend - for the first time in weeks I haven't been feeling sick - fabulous! Of course now I'm worrying that everything is ok instead. The logical side of my brain does know that its expected at this point 13 weeks but how the hell do I last till my next scan with no clue that everything is ok because its too early to feel the baby's movements???

Some wise words welcomed from those that are further along!!!

WingDefence · 02/12/2012 19:41

Ooooooh welcome notsoold! Remind me, was it you who has the really ancient OH? Xmas Grin

Baking went well thanks, made a yummy tray bake but used a MN recipe (normally they are always foolproof and it had great scores) for chocolate krispies and it was a bit dire as it used drinking choc powder instead of melted choc and I thought they were really dry. We made £80 selling our wares on the church stall to give to a local charity that gives activity sessions for autistic children so we were v chuffed!

Had an extremely manic day that I did type out but it was getting very long and tedious except I'll say that highlights were:

  • woke up to no water in the whole village and even into the nearest town (back in at lunchtime)
  • took DS cross the road to the village hall for a birthday party and lots of running around and shenanigans that I cannot be bothered to type up for you lovely ladies
  • went for an hour's walk this afternoon with our neighbours to feed the ducks on the frozen mill pond (hilarious to see them skidding across the ice and falling over!) then round the 'block'
  • DS now in bed, I am knackered!!
MrsBri · 02/12/2012 20:06

Hi notsoold! Good to see you, and congrats :-)

I'm knackered just reading about your weekend, Wing!

CuriosityCola says hi, by the way...she's now using the app and can't get onto this thread :-/

wavesandsmiles · 02/12/2012 20:23

Congrats to you notso. Am VERY jealous to hear about seeing the ducks on the frozen millpond *wing". Sounds like a busy weekend... I had a very busy day yesterday, and then spent this morning getting a roast together, and cleaning out the rabbits, before spending the afternoon in bed crying. Must be the pg hormones I think. DCs are sound asleep now, and just settling down to watch some tv with DH. Hopefully nothing too much emotional will come on or I'll be bawling again!
