Sorry I couldn't find an appropriate board to post this in...

Does anyone know how I can become a Doula? In not thinking right now as have got enough on my plate with my 3 month old DD! But I would really like to do this in the future. Is anyone out there a Doula?

Hello,

I trained as a doula but never got registered as I dint finish my last essay or go to a trainee birth - I was pregnant at the time (didnt know when I started my course) and thought I could just pick it up after, not the case.
i trained with Adela Stockton, shes a lovely woman and comes highly recommended. Her course costs in the region of £200 if I remember correctly and you have to buy some books along with it.
Her website is: www.adelastockton.co.uk/
I honestly really enjoyed the course and found it extremely helpful for when I did give biirth to my daughter. Although I didnt get officially finish it so am not a doula my family and friends know I have done the course and asked me for advice or to be present when giving birth as a result.

Good luck!

You may also find Doula UK helpful. Lots of Doula training courses there. Smile
