blonder hope the test goes well, I'm sure it will be fine, just mention it to them when you get there.

Glad you arae feeling a bit better DH.

Waiting what is your nursery like? I'm the same with wanting nice wooden toys which will do doubt be replaced by tat as soon as baby has an input!

Thanks for the lists that have been put on FB they're really helpful. (Although DH is moaning that all I do is make lists and I have plenty of them myself!)

Iheartpasties · 07/08/2012 10:02

Hi ladies,

Good luck with the glucose test blonder

I hope you are not feeling as sick now dh

I used the Ergo baby carrier and loved it, I used to use it when I didn't want to take out the pram and when dd was little she would sleep in the carrier so that was fab. I would recommend it.

Have you heard about Gary Barlow and his wife? 4th child stillborn at 8 1/2 months. A little girl. Sad

Passmethecrisps · 07/08/2012 10:33

Yeah. Read that yesterday. Dreadful.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/08/2012 11:38

Yes read that this morn :( its so sad. It hits home how it's not as uncommon as people think.

Wishing all us preg ladies a healthy rest of our pregnancies.

AbsToni · 07/08/2012 12:11

DesperateHousewife21, is there anything special we need to do to join the FB group? I just sent a request there to join - let's see. Maybe it will be much easier to keep up there as here I simply do not have the time to read all the stuff that people write. I would love to see the lists - I have made my own as well:)

thanks!:)

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/08/2012 12:17

No nothing special, you're all added :)

ValiumQueen · 07/08/2012 12:28

I find it easier on here. I find Facebook complicated as you cannot clearly see what is new. Perhaps it is my settings, plus it is easier knowing who is who here. The pics are lovely though. If you all jump ship over there, I will follow though. I would miss you too much!

MissMummy1 · 07/08/2012 12:41

Off to midwife appointment this afternoon. Feel I need to man up and take advantage of free dental care and book check up while I'm over that way. Problem is, a friend works as a receptionist in the dentists I go to and I haven't yet told her I'm pregnant. I think she's one of the only people I haven't told actually and only because I've not seen her for weeks - I can't exactly hide it anymore!! I might wimp out on the dental front anyway and put it off for another few weeks months. Blush

AbsToni · 07/08/2012 12:56

Thanks - yes I am on facebook now:)

WaitingForMe · 07/08/2012 13:16

It's quite old fashioned Lilliana. I've emptied a lot from a gorgeous oak wardrobe my parents inherited when they bought a house when I was a child. I liked to think that one day Narnia would be in there. I also have a mahogany dressing table and chose a cotbed and change unit in the same dark wood. I have my mothers nursing chair from when she breastfed me and my old teddy. The walls are pale green and the curtains a pale suede effect. I've framed (dark wood again) a print my late dad bought at Kew Gardens.

The bedding stuff is the Olive and Henri range from Toys'r'us.

It's very muted and quite old fashioned. I find it very soothing and like my theory that the pram is for me, I think a nursery that chills me out and makes me happy will be a soothing space for little one Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/08/2012 13:26

missmummy I was putting it off for years months thinking I'd need a load of horrible treatment but dh and I went in feb and I didn't need anything! They just cleaned them for me so will be taking advantage of the free dental for the next 15 months!

Lilliana · 07/08/2012 13:31

I need to be brave a find a dentist - haven't been for years and have a real fear of going (no idea why) but would be stupid of me to miss out on free dental work so need to get sorted. Give me a kick up the bum someone!

Sounds lovely waiting I'm similar that I want it to be a calm space that I love! As we don't know what we're having it is all cream and wood atm but might get some wall stickers when baby arrives

MissMummy1 · 07/08/2012 13:42

Well I went. My friend wasn't there and I was given an appointment for tomorrow. Less time to wimp out I guess!

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/08/2012 15:28

YaY well done you!

I've just read a poem on fb that someone has sent to Take That about Gary+ his wife's baby and I really wish I hadn't. I got halfway through and started sobbing and now can't stop :(

Chunkychicken · 07/08/2012 17:03

Is it braxton hicks when you're back & bump ache? I've been getting irregular sharp pains underneath, cramp type pains that sort of spread across the bump and a period-pain type back ache this afternoon, but I've never had them.before, not with DD that I remember.Equally we've been to the Olympic Park, I'm exhausted & we've walked a fair bit, plus sat awkwardly in places. I could just be suffering because I over-exerted myself.

ValiumQueen · 07/08/2012 17:12

They are contractions of the womb, but should be infrequent, irregular, and only mild cramp not proper pain. Sometimes caused by being dehydrated or needing a wee, so acting on these may help.

YellowWellies · 07/08/2012 17:25

My braxton hicks have been painless - and usually occur when I'm lying flat in bed or have a really full bladder - they disappear when you move (which is certainly the case with mine) they should be painless or only a very mild ache - whereas real contractions get worse with movement apparently and are much more tangible. Any worries call your midwife. I shat myself when I started getting BHs at 20 weeks given our family history of impatient babies..... but was helpfully escorted down off the ceiling by my midwife Grin

YellowWellies · 07/08/2012 17:26

I wouldn't honestly describe BH as sharp pains though... but that could just be me. Maybe more ligaments stretching?

WaitingForMe · 07/08/2012 17:27

I just went to see my friends two week old baby. So teeny tiny (yet Confused at pushing one that size out) and adorable. I held her for two hours with my bump kicking her for much of that time Grin

Had a chat about my recent shopping and I said my mum had said not to bother buying newborn stuff as my brother and I went straight into 0-3mths. My friend said her daughter wore it for a few days but it was all washed and ready for me along with some stuff she had in case she was premature. I think I'm about the sixth person to have some of it and some has never been worn. Such is the way for the tiny stuff I imagine.

GTbaby · 07/08/2012 17:57

I woke up thinking I better make a dentist appointment ASAP. When I bushed my teeth there was a lot of blood. Last time I had this I saw a hygienist and it was fine after a proper clean. Don't get hygienist for free with maternity certificate Sad after reading the chat just made an appointment for dentist on Thursday!
So come on ladies. Bite the bullet and call up now! Wink Grin

ValiumQueen · 07/08/2012 18:07

I sorted my baby clothes out today. 1 drawer of early baby clothes (highly unlikely to be used, so will go back on doll from wence they came), three drawers newborn, and a chest of drawers of 0-3. Most pre-loved, and drawers small. It was really nice handling boys baby clothes.

Still need to find the unused vests and gros I used with DD2. I had everything baby related in the nursery, then DH decided to dump loads of stuff from his office in there too, so I cannot get to it. Grr!

I am having occasional BHs, full bump ones, and uncomfy rather than painful.

Chunkychicken · 07/08/2012 18:22

Aches/pain started when I was walking & did need a wee, and although stopped for a while, still feeling a bit achey. Think the sharp pain may have been to do with ligaments. The BH/cramps/ache wasn't stop me in my tracks agonizing it anything, just really tight & uncomfortable as we walked along. So SO tired :(

TheDetective · 07/08/2012 18:29

Chunky, just give the midwives a call to put your mind at rest. You should have a triage/antenatal assessment number, and if not, just ring labour ward.

I have to be honest and say it sounds like you have over done it - this is what I get too ;) But you know, I can't see you to be able to say that is all it is, and only you know how you feel! Best bet is just to ring up!

TheDetective · 07/08/2012 18:32

Waiting My bump kicks all the babies! It's well jealous of me holding other babies! And since I do it a lot... I get a lot of proper wacks! Little monkey, already!

I have had some interesting looks from the dog, because the dog gets punched too Grin Poor dog!!
