Oh, and my favourite thing I read yesterday in the 'Natal Hypnotherapy' book- it's a good idea to have a whisky when you're in labour. Their words, not mine.

londonlivvy · 23/08/2012 16:17

Thanks everyone re the new house. It is lovely ? we are delighted to have a house and to be able to park outside, not three streets away, like we used to have to, and to have the quiet. We went out to pizza express to celebrate & quash unpacking hunger because normally they sell alcohol free beer. Sadly they didn?t have any in that branch. NOOOOOO. I obviously looked crestfallen as the waiter then ran down the road to the offie to see if they had any ? bless him ? such a sweet thing to do ? but sadly no joy. BOO. So lemonade to celebrate instead.
First night in the new house was odd. I woke up at 4am making lists of must do x, must buy y and goodness need to sort z. Ridiculous. And then the cat started shouting from about 5am, protesting about life and the new house. So a not particularly restful night. Sigh. I really want Move Part 2 (from my flat) to be over and then we can sort the gaps (we have no bookcases and hundreds of books) and then (eventually) sit on the sofa and relax. Ooof.
squid hope trip to Newcastle was / is fab and you?re enjoying catching up with your friend. Good on you for finding the mojo to go on a trip. Impressed!
MidgetCWest Crazypaving Want anorange Liesbeth thank you for the reassurance re motherly blunders. As I?m spectacularly clumsy at the best of times, I foresee several boshes along the way. Eek.
Liesbeth My sister had an 18 month old and a newborn. She bought side by side for a while but quickly got hacked off with it because it didn?t fit in shops (or anywhere, to be honest) and then moved to a Phil & Teds.
LondonMrs Maybe bean just doesn?t like Thursdays? I?m not a big fan, to be honest. LOVE the whisky tip (we have cognac in the cupboard, do you think that?ll work?). BTW I really really laughed out loud at your calendar entry. Hilarious. I hope you?re no longer embarrassed and everyone?s moved on to talking about Prince Harry in his undercrackers (or not, as the case may be). Good on your for the biscuit email. Great stuff!

Kyrria I hope your back is feeling better and ice is working. Maybe one of those bump support bands would work (cos it could be that your bump is pulling your back too far forward and that?s what?s making it hurt?)
Yomping did I miss your lists? If so, please share... as the movers pointed out ?not much in that baby room, love. (there was a breast pump in the middle of the room, that?s it )You do know you need to get some things??. ?yes yes, just haven?t had time? ?yeah well you ain?t got long now?. I then looked at the calendar and thought HOLY COW they?re right. I need to SORT IT OUT (cue much worrying at 4am).
mickey back waters? WTF?

30 weeks today!

crazypaving · 23/08/2012 18:09

lisbeth I spent ages deciding on a double (23m age gap here). In the end went for Mountain Buggy Duet (2nd hand off eBay) as it's the same width as a single, and I didn't like the idea of tandems as once the baby is about 4 months, both children have to sit bolt upright. And you get no space to hang a bag off a handle, and no shopping basket. That's my reasoning anyway!

Kyyria · 23/08/2012 19:46

Hello all Smile

Back seems a bit better - still twinging and having to be careful what I do but at least I can now vaguely bend and can get up and down off seating without tears in my eyes!

Having a last minute clean (with DH doing more housework than I've seen in years) as DH's parents are coming up to visit for the weekend. Not seen them since end of May (when there was no baby related bump) so expecting his mum to be a bit OTT. Am hoping she doesn't get in my face too much! Hopefully minimal work to do tomorrow morning (making spare room up, cleaning kitchen).

Busy weekend ahead as we pick up new car (well, 2nd hand but new to us) on Saturday morning too. Changing our 3 door, 90k mile on the clock hatchback for a 5 door, 5 (+2) seater, mpv...probably won't be able to afford to change again for about 5 years so figured we might as well invest in something that will last and suit our needs!

Off work now until Tuesday (yay!)

Worried.........A LOT less movements over the last couple of days, even though I've been resting lots in the hope it will get her to move. Got midwife tomorrow lunchtime so hoping she can put my mind at rest.

Also got a letter today saying my last blood test showed my iron level is low so now on iron tablets AND blood pressure ones!

Had enough now, just want my little lady here so I can physically see she's safe and well if that makes sense.

Kyyria · 23/08/2012 20:44

cwest if it helps put your mind at rest my bean has been very quiet for the last 5-6 days. I think it's because he might have turned so he's facing my spine.

Up until a week ago he was very wriggly (and was fine when I saw the midwife last Friday) but since then all I'm feeling is "fluttering" in my groin and the odd "thunk" under my ribs, and even then I'm only really getting that when I move (e.g. if I get up to go to the loo, or move around after being still for a while) and it doesn't last long.

I'm trying not to stress -i can feel him moving (albeit not very much) but that said he wasn't much of a wriggler beforehand.

As you said, midwife should be able to pit your mind at rest tomorrow. Times like this I wish I had a. seethrough tummy so I could check all was ok!

CWest30 · 23/08/2012 21:15

Thanks kyria

A see through tummy would be amazing!

Before I had any of my scans I said to DH "You would of thought by now someone would have developed a bloody mobile phone app that enables you to self scan!" Well it is the 21st century!

On saying all that, there has been a bit more movement tonight, maybe like you, baby has just turned round or something.....I dont know, I'm just fed up of trying to analyse everything every second of the day, Ive never been good at waiting for anything haha. Im sure all will be fine tomorrow, I heard the heartbeat at my consultants appt on tuesday, so Im sure I am worrying over nothing. But thanks, it really helps to know Im not alone xx

lisbethsopposite · 23/08/2012 21:38

Thanks for Buggy advice CrazyP & LondonL - I've just e-mailed a friend that I could maybe borrow an old one from - the cheapest route of all.

I'm trying to buy some BF bras from Figleaves - does anyone know a discount code?? Many thanks Grin

lisbethsopposite · 23/08/2012 21:40

Just got 15% by googling - amazing!!

Midgetm · 23/08/2012 21:54

Evening. Posting from a maternity triage bed strapped to a monitor. Getting painful, regular contractions after being on antibiotics for a week, bloody UTI won't go away. May have to stay in. Hope the baby stays inside, he's not cooked yet. Little bit panicky but remaining calm(ish)

ShellWeDance · 23/08/2012 22:15

Oh no Midget hope you're OK, thinking of you and hope everything calms down x

hufflepuffle · 23/08/2012 22:53

Oh gosh Midget thinking of you, hopefully all will be ok, still got cooking to do baba, don't be coming out to meet mummy yet!! Take care pet, xx

Midgetm · 23/08/2012 23:23

Thanks ladies. Seeing the doctor any minute now. Some poor lady having the same as me but only 27 weeks, at least mine is cooked more than that. Baby making stressful, on my own as DH with DD. keep everything crossed that they let me home, I need my bed.

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 02:29

So far looks like the baby is staying in for a bit longer. Upped my antibiotics to something more heavy duty and let me sleep in my own bed but have to go back tomorrow. Thank god for that, I am not ready.

Kyyria · 24/08/2012 07:21

Hey midget, only just seen your posts. Hope all is ok and that you're relaxing as much as you possibly can in such a situation. Take it easy. Sending bean baking thoughts and a couple of hugs x

YompingJo · 24/08/2012 08:17

Midget, sending "stay inside" vibes to your bean. Hope today's monitoring is more positive and you defeat the evil UTI.

londonlivvy · 24/08/2012 09:09

Midget Ooof - that sounds stressful. I hope the antibots do the trick. Rest up and watch lots of trashy tv (great british bake off is wonderfully relaxing, I find and not too testing on the brain). Hugs

WantAnOrange · 24/08/2012 10:19

Midget Hope you're ok now. How many weeks are you?

CWest30 · 24/08/2012 10:54

Thinking of u midget hope baby doesn't come yet! I don't think any of us are ready, I'm certainly not! Please do keep us posted.

I've got midwife in about an hr, will mention my "reduced movements" over the last couple of days (although there has been a bit more this morning) but I am definatly going to mention that after today, apparently I won't be seeing a medical person for 2.5 weeks. I'm not happy with that, especially as they are meant to be keeping an eye on me.

Will let you know what she says later.

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 11:59

Hello you all,

Thanks for your lovely well wishes, I didn't tell anyone in real life as didn't want to worry them so nice to have lovely interweb support.

Well the drugs seem to be working and the contractions are dying down. They did a swab to tell if real labour coming and this was negative for now so they are happy with that but not convinced it may not happen again and come early. Dr seems to think it wouldn't be the end of the world as I am 31 weeks but of course we would all rather he stays on the inside. I AM NOT READY, I AM NOT READY AND NEITHER IS HE. REPEAT LIKE MAD LADY

Seeing my consultant on Thursday and need to go back in if it gets worse. Baby baking is stressful and exhausting work.

Good luck CWEST - I would ask for a trace if you are still worried - can't do any harm.

londonlivvy lady after my own heart - I love the Great British Bake off. Actually love it a bit too much. It is carb porn.

I need sleep - and all will be well with the world.

YompingJo · 24/08/2012 12:13

Midget, glad everything's OK for now. Lol at carb porn - my idea of carb porn is a breadmaker - can't EVER allow myself to buy one otherwise I will eat nothing but freshly baked bread, and will blow up like a balloon.

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 13:02

Fifty shades of Carb.

lisbethsopposite · 24/08/2012 14:00

Midget You poor thing Sad Is the news better today?
Sending lazy vibes to bean - 'Oh I couldn't be bothered to move, I think I'll just snooze here...'

lisbethsopposite · 24/08/2012 14:11

Oh - just saw the latest post - that is good.
Thinking of you too CWest - I think I have a languishing bean, resting on a soft cushion (bladder), so I don't have your worries. Worry is the worst pregnancy symptom of all.
I also love Bake Off - weird. How can baking a cake be entertaining?

bella2012 · 24/08/2012 18:19

big hugs to midget and cwest. You are so rigt that this baby making business is stressful! You poor things-hope you are ok.

I am having my turn at pregnancy hormonal meltdown so am trying to pull myself together before posting properly.

Much love x
