Ooh pickled onions = girl!! (apparently)

HaitchJay · 02/08/2012 17:44

Ive had oranges (dd1) , chillies(dd2) and gooseberries (dd3). Pickled onions aren't massively out of the ordinary for me though Blush. Actually none of my cravings have been Blush

KFFOREVER · 02/08/2012 18:04

Hi everyone

Have 3 and half weeks left for 2nd trimester and I can't wait. Im feeling sooooooo awful. Had an emotional breakdown at work so came home early again and have been every day this week. I told them I am not going in tomorrow. Will speak to docs tomorrow to see if they will sign me off for a week. All my colleagues are supportive. My line manager comes back on Monday so lets see how she reacts.

I agree with those that are saying food tastes funny. Really don't fancy anything and force feeding myself for the sake of feeling worse than I already am.

Vix- Im really sorry to hear your news. Hope to see you on these threads soon.

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 18:09

haha manda no I just meant the lottery of life, when I have my scan tomorrow I will know for sure if multiples are the root of my extreme exhastion instead of just one baby! sorry probably didn't make much sense in that post!

Jojo I have extreme angry moments at some points Blush am more likely to moodswing to tearful, like when someone gets their gold medal, or when i (misguidedly probably) watched One born every minute last night!

Em, good luck with the news breaking tomorrow at work. Sounds like a really difficult situation for all involved

Just popped out for a cup of tea with some really good friends and told them. That was nice. Really getting quite nervous about scan tomorrow!

HaitchJay · 02/08/2012 18:35

Am at a wedding tomorrow. Really looking forward to it but will have to stop myself crying Blush

HaitchJay · 02/08/2012 18:36

Good luck with the scan three

mandasand · 02/08/2012 18:37

Oh my word my brain is, I swear, turning to mush ThreeforTea! Hehe! Sending positive thoughts (and secret wishes for another multiple pregnancy on the thread!) for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on Smile

I keep getting teary when the national anthem comes on when we get a gold and this is very odd as I'm not exactly very nationalistic or royalist!

Hang on in there, KK.

Sounds like the HoD is on your side, Em, and being supportive. Hope boss can manage to keep a more appropriate distance between her professional and personal lives. Her upset is understandable, as you say, but it sounds to me like she might need some counselling or something to deal with the huge stress of the IVF and the added upset of others getting pregnant around her. But that's not exactly an easy thing to suggest to someone who's clearly struggling and I'm certainly not suggesting you should do so! Smile

mandasand · 02/08/2012 18:37

aw just take some tissues haitch!

JoJoBella84 · 02/08/2012 18:41

I watched the last 20 mins last night threeforrea was welling up!
I think I'm just very frustrated today. 3 calls to the MW and no response to any of my voicemails. I'll call tomorrow morning but she said she doesn't work Fridays so I don't imagine anyone else will offer to help :(
All I want is my scan date, of I don't get in next week I wond get in until after my exam which means I'll be 16 weeks! Grrrrr

Sunnymeadows · 02/08/2012 18:57

Mrs rigby sounds good, fx. Im off now for pregnancy blood tests at the hospital. I've had to do it evening coz i think work might get suspicious with too many Dr and dentist appointments. I had a dream last night that i told work and they were really good. Anyone think maybe this is on my mind lol!

Just turned into a lovely evening here. Really hungry but not enough time to cook and eat before hospital appointment. Chicken stir fry and a spring roll :-)

Sunnymeadows · 02/08/2012 19:04

Stupid phone missed 2 pages of thread.

vixjane Im so sorry to hear your news hun. Thinking of you and sending hugs x

backwardpossom · 02/08/2012 19:25

Just wanted to give my love to vix - I'm so sorry. Too many of us have been there and wish you all the best x

Bambi86 · 02/08/2012 20:47

Hello, been away for a while - awful week!

I should be enjoying the 6 weeks hols (secondary school teacher), but around 6 months ago I signed up to work at a Summer Camp. Started this week, and OMG it's hard work. I've been working 8am-6pm every day, and I've been exhausted! The sickness has also kicked in this week, so it's been been just awful. I've been coming home, eating and then sleeping until 6 am this next morning - OH has understandably been worried.

So today, I take the day off and decide that I'm going to quit. Working ten hour days, and pretending to be as happy as a Disney character is so not worth it! Felt guilty at first, and still do a bit...but my health is far more important!

Sickness has been awful today :( Craving salted crisps and potatoes. Ice pops seem to be keeping the sickness a away for a bit.

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 21:20

Sounds like a good idea Bambi! Hats off for getting this far into the holiday working those hours!!!

newyearsday · 02/08/2012 21:25

vixjane I'm so sorry too. Be kind to yourself and hope you're getting lots of love and support in RL. Good luck for the future x

mrsrigby blood results are really positive! I've been thinking about you this week cos I've also been sending myself crazy with worry after Monday's car accident, and my symptoms have stopped. But I still feel pg and my tummy is bigger so I'm trying to be patient.

Thanks for the messages, what a nice bunch you all are. Chefette you wrote chickpea (our pet name for baby) and I got tears! Blush The neck/head/back pain has really eased. Tears have eased too. Except when there's another GB gold!

Food cravings: oranges, celery and houmous, snickers icecream, stuffed pitta pockets, fruit squash, mmmmm drooling...

For those feeling tired, like tiddley I also take a liquid iron, mine's called Feroglobin (yummy orange flavour - see cravings above). In fact I took it after birth, throughout BFing, heavy AFs and am on the recommended three spoons a day now. Our bodies are creating up to 50% more blood and placentas at the mo so an iron boost may help you feel a bit better.

My symptoms have eased over the last few days, I'm 9+4 so hoping it's normal, with ds I felt like sh*t until about 14wks so it seems early to me but as someone said each pg is different. Anyway, I really feel for those who are still suffering.

mmmmsleep · 02/08/2012 21:26

Hi sorry no posts in ages. Mostly just too exhausted. Sorry to hear your news vix...sending my best wishes.

Had booking apt this week. Went really well, she supported my leaning towards an elective section this time after last time's horridness.also ref me to midwife counsellor as never got help after last time and she thinks it might help...could be right.

I'm so tired and craving junk food. I know I'm lucky as although nauseous all time I'm not vomiting. Last time was vomiting fr bfp to baby out and in hospital on off from 5 weeks.....still feeling a bit sorry for myself though. Ds not sleeping well, work really busy and I haven't told them yet.just shattered. Trying to give up evening breast feed so dh can do bedtime so I get a rest...

Moan over. Sorry ladies had to offload! On a plus note I had a sneaky listen to baby at work and heard little heart beat...11 weeks on sat. Bit early usually but thought I'd give it a go...lovely to hear! Slightly put paranoia to rest.

HermioneBoo · 02/08/2012 21:38

Sheldonella had a much better day today thank you, I was nauseous all day but it's reassuring after all the cramps yesterday.
Today I have been so tired, I laughed so much at tiddleys post about falling asleep on the loo, I can see that happening to me soon! I went for a walk at lunch and had to sit on a bench for a while to recover.
My throat is very sore too, and then my boss said that he's been very itchy and had blotches on his skin - he thinks he's caught chicken pox from another of my colleagues whose grandson had it a couple of weeks ago. Thinking about it logically it seems unlikely but I'm still keeping my distance!
Going to drive down to Dorset tomorrow, going to visit my lovely aunty and hopefully get some sea swimming in. Hoping that the four hour drive won't wipe me out completely Smile

GummiberryJuice · 02/08/2012 22:14

Thinking of you vix

shieldbug · 02/08/2012 22:14

gummi hooray for appt letters- I got mine today as well. I thought there was a mistake as the mw appt and the consultant appt were both at my local mw led unit, but turns out I get my ante natal there, then go to the Ulster to give birth. Happy days; I don't drive, so it was going to be a long haul on a train and bus. Only downside is the appts are in early Sept, so the world and its dog will know I'm pg before I've even had a scan, given my current girth.

Finally! A sunny day! Ds (21 months) and I went to the park. On the swings he was yelling "faster Mammy!", when I was pushing as hard as I dared, so I think I've got a little adrenaline-junkie. Only trouble is I'm rather malco, misjudged things and got his feet right in my bump! Ouch!

hermione hope the drive goes well, have a lovely time in Dorset.
mmmsleep how lovely to hear a heartbeat. I finally gave up bfing ds1 last week (I was down to 1 evening feed only) and my boobs have been agony. I screamed when ds managed to kick them by accident. They're only just settling down now. Ds was scared he couldn't get to sleep without bfing but after some heartbreaking scenes (boob mummy pleeeease BOOB!), he's quite quickly adjusted. Good luck with cutting down and if you decide to stop anytime soon.

Sympathies to all those feeling dreadful at the moment. Take time off, be as "selfish" as you need to be, look after yourselves and remember, it will pass. Hope you feel better soon.

MrsRigby · 02/08/2012 22:29

Evening

vixjane I'm so, so, so sorry. I read your post earlier, but haven't been able to respond until now. I don't know what to say, I'm very Sad. I don't know whether it's any comfort or not, but I've been there and it's the cruelest thing in the world, painful too. I wouldn't wish anyone to go through this. I think the way you are dealing with it and your post was amazing. The only positive I can see out of this, is that after a miscarriage you are at your most fertile - I guess it's mother natures way of saying sorry. I got pregnant the month after the missed miscarriage and being pregnant on the miscarried babys due date really helped an awful lot. Next time. Good luck xxx

ThreeForTea good luck for your scan tomorrow - if it's twins I'm going to be extremely Envy Envy Envy

sunnymeadows hope you get a really good result.

I'm off to bed, long day and feeling very tired. Otherwise I'm okay.

Oh, the GP agreed to do another blood HCG, so I've got that to look forward to tomorrow. I know I have no right to ask this after what vixjane is going through, but keep your fingers crossed that tomorrows level is around 16,000.

Okay, night everyone xxx

dameflamingo · 02/08/2012 23:00

haitchjay I read your post about pickled onions and headed straight to the kitchen! Ooh they are good!

lexi we're due about the same time ( i'm 9 w 4 today according to my consultant and 9 w 6 according to my own calculations!) and my symptoms have abated over the past couple of days too. Hope this reassures you a bit...step away from Dr. google..therein lies all sorts to make you worry more! I know it's hard not to feel bad about feeling better.

Pleased booking apps have come through for those waiting for them.

I bit the bullet and bought 2 maternity bras today as my cup it overfloweth! Mothercare had a sale on so got two for £9.50. There's a top tip for y'all. Goodnight x

roteelefant · 03/08/2012 00:01

vixjean I'm so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care of yourself

You women move quickly - sorry if I forgot any of you

Haitch enjoy the wedding tomorrow. Ohh I love a good wedding. Which is why it is going to take me over a year to plan mine and DPs. It doesn't seem right not being married and having a DC but with our massive families it will take a while to plan. (oh well the convent school manage to get me on that one, not so much no sex before marriage bit)

Hope the scan is a-okay tomorrow Three

owch shield

Hermione enjoy seeing your aunt and dorset. Good to here you are felling better.

sleep with any luck you will feel better and it wont be quite like last time was - doesn't sound fun. Good that the mw appt went good.

new patient is a virtue and virtue is a grace and all that . Sure it will be fine. You as well JoJo hopefully it will sort itself out or at least someone will get there head out of their arse.

The only thing I have been craving are tunnocks tea cakes and laughing cow chese - so lovely

KF take care of yourself

Bambi that sound like too much like hard work - be kind to yourself and now enjoy your summer.

Em hope your Boss is professional about it, at least your HoD sounds like she has her head screw on right.

tidd carnival sounds like great fun.

Good luck to all of you with scans coming up.

I went to see Batman tonight and am now in love with Joseph Gordon Levitt. Though he isn't up to Ryan Lochte um looks

I have to work this weekend :( but in paris so not that bad. So going to take a short break and go home to see my DMum and DSDad for a couple of days. Going to be very hard not to tell them. But might see if I can get DP a flight out the following weekend. Will be lovely to go home (even is DSDad will drag me into office)

Just finished watch a programme about Les Mis - ohh how I love a good musical.

ATourchOfInsanity · 03/08/2012 00:15

Hi all!

So sorry to hear your news Vix - thinking of you at this time x

Think I have just about caught up! Always forget who posted what though as there are so many of us!

Feeling v. stressed this pg. As you may have gathered from my last post about OH's pubes Blush

Among other things I am building a house (or attempting to) and have been told by our council I need an Eco Survey which is costing £650, and that is before their bribary Section 106 Agreement in disguise charging me £5k for local parks (of which there are none within a 30min walk). Anyone would think I was a developer building a new town not a 4 bed house!

To add to my (hormone increased) woes, it is DD's 1st B.day on Sat. I am actually really excited, but OH suddenly invited 4 new families yesterday. It was his b.day and when anyone rang he just kept telling them to come over! Now I have 4 new kids to make up party bags for (had done this already to b organised as am so tired) with no toys and about 15 more people to feed :( I don't know these people very well and am nervous that it will rain as is forecast and all 30 odd of us will be stuck in my living room with 10 screaming kids. Also have to make x4 quiches, x24 banana muffins, x1 Rainbow cake and a roast tomorrow. All I want to do is sleep but unfortunately can't stop thinking about the lot of it. Grrrrr!

At least I have made pom poms tonight, which makes me feel like I have tried if nowt else. As long as DD has fun and isn't overwhelmed then it should be fine.

Whoever was worried about healthy eating; I have surpassed you all by dining on pot noodle, followed by butterscotch cookies, and further supercee
ded by a quater pounder meal (large, of course) that OH agreed to get me at 10:30pm Blush I swear it was all fruit and veg with pg1!!

Hope everyone is well and happy x

HaitchJay · 03/08/2012 07:08

at reading about food.

Dd3&dh are shut in the kitchen cooking sausages as I can't stand the smell. Hoping lunch isn't smelly or I'll give myself away,

I'm quite excite at going to this wedding. It's my best friend & her bloke is really nice ( esp after her xh) and it finally means I've gone to more weddings of other people than my own!

Lexiindisguise · 03/08/2012 08:42

Thanks dame. And enjoy the wedding, Haitch!
After feeling great but worried yesterday I've got my just desserts by waking up at 5am with back pain & migraine! Migraine not preg related but I feel awful as haven't managed a full week at work for over a month Sad not going to be popular!
