Happy days all - so sorry for those really struggling with tiredness & sickness. Not unusual threefortea, I too am utterly drained & spend most of the day planning how to get to bed again. Roll on second trimester - what's it like over there jojo?!

Morning all,
Am with you all on the exhaustion front, I'm usually a pretty tired person but this is a whole new level. Also I find if I am tired my ms is a hundred times worse so I really need to make sure I get enough rest.

I am just counting down to the end of today, tomorrow on annual leave to see Olympics (woohoo!), next week working from home, then 2 weeks holiday - great! After that I'll be 12 weeks so I'll probably be telling work (FX for another successful scan) and hopefully get a bit more leeway.

AuntieJu · 02/08/2012 07:12

Ps good luck for results Vix and MrsRigby

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/08/2012 07:58

Fingers crossed for good test results Vixand MrsRigby hope you get some good news.

I have woken up this morning with such a sore throat, it feels like I am swallowing gravel...Sad on leave again today looking after poor DD. she looks terrible, the actual impetigo isn't that bad but under her eyes is all puffy and dark, she looks like she's been fighting! And she is, unsurprisingly, in a proper grump. We have cream for her face that we are supposed to put on 4 times each day and she HATES it. Every time is a total nightmare. So today is going to be a joy! Grin

sundaesundae · 02/08/2012 08:17

Hi, Can I join in please?

I am 7 or 8 weeks, due around the 11th March (I know my conception date, but can't find a calculator that uses that!), feeling pretty rough, ok very rough this morning, but that just makes me feel more reassured.

I don't think I will quite believe it until I see a waving bean, I did 6 neg tests when AF was due and only got BFP a week ago with a 3+ cb digital! I knew I was preggers, but now tiny bit worried that the lateness of the result is meaningful.

Congratulations lovely ladies, i look forward to sharing our journey!

mandasand · 02/08/2012 08:36

Morning!

What a lot of cute dogs, Gummi! We're not really a dog household, but DH would love a cat at some point. Think we'll see if we can manage two babies first ;-)

aw sorry you've been feeling so rough, sheldonella and that you've been so anxious about the diesel Hermione. Hate to say it, Three but extreme tiredness is a sign of multiples because your body's having to work that bit harder! I thought I was ridiculously tired, but then when I found out it all made sense. I'm 9 weeks now and my energy levels are returning a bit, so hang on in there! Sorry to all those others struggling and/or managing poorly DCs.

My hunger levels too are returning even though I can't seem to finish a meal. Admittedly I'd only had a small tea last night, but I had to get up for porridge at 1am because of the Feed Me Now hunger pangs! Oh how DH laughed, till I reminded him that in about four months I won't be able to move and he will have to get it for me, hehe!

me too re wiggo, roteelefant! he's just so lovely Smile

thanks sunny - I think I'm successfully managing to avoid drawing too much on core muscles. I'm more concerned about freeing up muscles round my shoulders and upper back, which are quite static from sitting at desk all day. Oooh, last night I think I began to see some definition return to my upper arms. Only the merest shadow, but that was quite exciting! Nice to feel slightly in control of a small part of my body at the moment!

tiddley will your DH have to do stay over a lot for work now you've moved to the new place? hope you're managing to get through the boxes okay! We moved into our house 18 months ago and with the prospect of babies I now want to get all the home improvements we've been lazy about done before they arrive and whilst we can still move. we have a small pot of inheritance coming from his dad, who sadly passed away last summer, so we will do new boiler and double glazing with that (his dad would have approved!), and last night we sat down and did our finance chat and worked out a way to afford new kitchen (we just need cupboards, surfaces, sink and dishwasher - everything else is already new or okay), bathroom re-plastering, and some curtains and painting. This is real progress. DH absolutely hates spending money, but I managed to argue quite effectively that we'll prob never be able to afford to do this again, and we can now, with quite a bit of juggling and belt-tightening, and that I want this house to feel 100% like a home for when the babies (all being well) arrive. Really excited - now, if only I had some time to think about things like interior design ... !

welcome littlemissloud! welcome sundae!

zoeymlucas · 02/08/2012 08:36

Well went to bed and just laid there and cried poor DH had no clue what was wrong, I was just so tired and after a 11 hour day its month end at work I come home to a very happy DS who is 18 months and wanted to play with mummy which of course I did, then he wanted mummy to feed, bath and snuggle him (DH is a stay at home dad so is normally picked for everything) so I did all those things, had my tea sorted some stuff and went to bed and just broke down with how exhausted I feel at the mo its actually silly, think I might get bloods check as I am on and off anemic normally and being pregnant wont of help!

On the plus side my shoulder is so much better today and hardly hurts at all!

Not a good day Ethel I hope you and your little lady feel better soon its rubbish being ill but being ill at the same time of your child is awful let alone being pregnant - hats off to you x

Roll on a week today when I get to meet baby bean (and know when my operation is :( )

tiddleypompom · 02/08/2012 08:47

zoey (and other tired peeps) try liquid 'floravital' from holland & barratt for iron & vits without the side effects (constipation). Wonderful stuff IMO.

Hope you both get better soon ethel

Hello newbies! :)

p.s. I fell asleep on the loo at work last pregnancy. Woke 20 mins later with indent on my forehead from leaning against loo roll holder. Grim!

Morning! 8 weeks today! I feel much better so far today and it seems plain old cereals with milk is the thing I need to be eating for breakfast to feel normal. Back to work today which I have been a bit anxious about but sitting watching the olympics all day yesterday seems to have given me the break I need. It has also made me feel like exercising but I don't think there is much chance of that.
HaitchJay It's pg related I think, work hasn't been too bad. manda Home improvements sound great. We just did our bathroom in anticipation of having a baby - only had a shower and thought a bath would be much more useful.
Hermione You poor thing, I know how you feel. I ate some cured ham the other day which was a few days old and had a huge guilt trip over it. I don't think you need to worry unless you have taken to putting diesel on your cereals every day or something. Hope you feel better today.
MrsRigby and Vix Thinking of you today. Ethel I hope your DD feels better today.
Ladies that have been through all this before - please tell us newbies how lovely the second trimester is and how we won't feel rubbish for much longer :)

Lexiindisguise · 02/08/2012 09:18

Good luck today Vix & mrsrigby!
mandasand DH & I are also looking at home improvements. We have a 2 bed terrace & have done a lot of work to it so DH doesn't want to move, problem is that my folks are 3 hours away in Somerset so I really want us to keep a spare bed so they can stay without paying for a hotel! So we are looking at a loft conversion. Eek!

Feeling much better today, nausea has gone & I am back on my previous fave, green tea - I know I should be pleased but am worried that at 9+5 the symptoms have gone Sad 19 days till next appointment so just hoping & praying all is OK with the bean!

Lexiindisguise · 02/08/2012 09:19

Ps agree with tiddley that floravital is the best - used it last year post flu & it really perked me up.

sneezecake · 02/08/2012 09:41

Morning all, hope everyone is well, fingers x for vix and mrsrigby
Was just wondering if anyone else has a funny taste, I made mum taste a Banaba and my soup yesterday because it tasted funny, she said it was fine, was so fed up, I got dragged to ikea which for once wasn't too busy and ate a plateful for pasta mad meatballs Grin which tasted ok.
I too am tired most of the day, I'm ok when I get up but after about an hour I really need to go back to bed!

zoeymlucas · 02/08/2012 09:43

Tiddley that actually made me LOL in the middle of the office - I am going to find a holland and barrett at lunch and buy the whole shops worth :)

I am trying to be healthy (ish) but if I dont have enough sugar my hands actually shake and my head goes fuzzy so I end up stuffing chocolate or a can of coke to stop the shakes - this isnt a new thing have always been this way!
We moved to a new house on friday 13th July - its brand new so we near enough designed everything and is 3 storey, the top floor is mine and DH room only - just wish we had of had enough money for an en suit as the trips down the stairs in the middle of the night are not fun! We already have a chocolate lab she is just a year and called Roxy :)

This is DC3 and I remember about 13 weeks with my last feeling the cloud lift from my head and starting to feel like a person again (not a robot going through the motions) and that I could start to enjoy stuff again so am hoping as I am 8+2 there is not much of this left!
dont panic lexi they say once the placenta starts taking over your hormaones should settle and things should be more normal - everyone is just different to when this happens x

Lexiindisguise · 02/08/2012 10:52

Thanks zoey, I must admit I never thought I would want the nausea back for reassurance! Blush
Very jealous of all you Labrador owners - we have 2 British shorthair cats, our work lives just wouldn't accommodate a puppy :-( the cats are great though, very gentle & affectionate!
I'm also suffering from things tasting weird, can't eat chocolate or coffee at the moment as they taste disgusting! Most disappointing!

mandasand · 02/08/2012 10:55

Ooh lexi let us know how you get on with getting a loft conversion! Ours is a 1930s semi and because the roof slants in on three sides there isn't a lot of space up there. We could get a balustrade stairwell, some storage area and a double bed; we could get much more if we went beyond the confines of the roof but we want to maintain the original shape of the house.

I've recently had a quote from a top-notch firm and they wanted 25K for a job I believe from other sources should cost 15K! We have the same problem: my family and MIL are 3-4 hours away in the north west and when they come we pack my office up a bit and open up the sofa-futon to turn my study into a bedroom. But I don't have an office on campus in London so if, e.g. parents were coming to help with babies so I could work, then I don't really have another designated work space. So a conversion would be perfect. But 25K is not a figure we're comfortable with! What kind of space do you have up in your loft? Can you get a proper-sized room? Oh and I'm 9+2 and my symptoms are easing / changing so please don't worry Smile

Have a really noticeable bump today!

We've got three really good mates and two of their kids coming to stay at the weekend and the wife of the couple has been on at me to get pregnant for bloody ages! They are all going to be ecstatic (and laughing a lot when we tell them it's twins!). Feel bad for not having told parents yet, when so many mates know, but DH and I think this is best - if anything went wrong at the 12-week scan we'd have a lot of emotions to handle from parents (knowing our lot!) whereas mates are different. Not long to go now (fingers crossed) before we can share the good news with everyone and get our mothers knitting.

sarahs999 · 02/08/2012 10:59

Hello all. Feeling a bit drugged up this morning - slept really badly (side-effect of steroids, I rarely make it through the night now but this one was a stonker - 2.15 til 6 awake). Then my pills this morning and my coffee treat (once or twice a week) have put me on a buzz, but underneath I'm still really tired, and a bit nauseous. Nice combo.

Got lots of appointments through now - 9 week scan next Tues (bricking it. This is the key one for me - consultant says if I make it this far I will have the same cahnce as a normal woman of holding on to the pregnancy). Booking in a week later. Nuchal scan a week after that - quite early, will only be 11+2. Does anyone know if having a later nuchal scan is more likely to give clearer readings? As a terribly old fart (41) I live in fear of a bad nuchal result as I cannot imagine having an amnio; that 1% chance of miscarriage is 1% too much as far as I'm concerned.

MrsRigby · 02/08/2012 11:04

We've made it into 'most active' Grin

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 11:09

Ethelred :( for sore throat and poorly dc. Noone needs that as well as everything else, Hope you both feel better soon.

Hi sundae Congrats on your BFP and being right!

Hmmn manda well i'll know tomorrow if i've won the multiple lottery! Would love it, and would make sure I definitely get signed off till September! Sorry about your exhaustion too tiddley zoeyauntieju and others.

sneezecake I have a funny taste thing for sure. Its so odd. I've had to start having honey in hot drinks because i need sweet at all times to take away funny aftertastes! Also smells are hilarious. I have had to get rid of our handwash, and i'm making dh change his showegel because its making me feel ill!

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 11:15

Hmmn DD is foiling my Olympic watching today, she keeps wanting to watch Cbeebies, which is wearing. I'm going to take her out and buy her some more toys later (as she's grown out of a lot of hers-December birthday) to distract her mwahahaha. olympic gold in terrible parenting goes to...

MrsRigby · 02/08/2012 11:27

Morning by the way - just!

Still absolutely livid about losing my epic post last night, therefore tiddleypompom I too will now be copying before hitting the 'post message' button. Grr.

Ah the perks of working in a hospital. I was able to come in, log on to the computer and get my results: bHCG is 8,063.

6 weeks pregnant is between 1,080 - 56,500 and 7 weeks pregnant is between 7,650 - 229,000.

I know I'm 6 weeks, so 8,063 is good plus I got a PREGNANT 3+ on the Clearblue yesterday, so I'm cautiously optimistic Grin Will phone the GP in a minute to see if he'll give me another blood request form so I can have the HCG level checked again tomorrow.

sundaesundae please don't do what I did and freak out over the Clearblue conception indicator Blush Blush Blush Congratulations Grin

vixjane any news? Still got my fingers crossed.

Right, copying post...

sarahs999 · 02/08/2012 11:29

Great news MrsRigby. It must be really stressful waiting for those results.

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 11:30

That sounds positive MrsRigby

zoeymlucas · 02/08/2012 11:38

Its amazing how this blood result so help you relax I got 8091 at 5 + 6 and then 14000 2 days later so was nice to see it changng so fast, I am sure you doctor will let you do another one.

I am sat in the office swearing I can smell curry sauce and wanting to find it and drink it but no body is actually eating so must be my mind playing tricks!

Fx crossed for you sarahs999 and roll on next week and seeing our beans :) mine is Thursday and with an incompetant cervix and a MC is May it cant come soon enough :)
