That's good thenzoey :)
People don't seem aware of the referred pain thing. There was a poster here a couple of years ago who could have died if she hadn't posted on MN about her pain and someone suggested ectopic and sent her to hospital. It's always stuck with me.

I seem to have reached the trapped wind part of pregnancy, really hate this, didn't realise until pg how painful it could be!

pinkpeony4 · 01/08/2012 15:36

Vix - I hope the results of your blood test is Ok.

Zoey - that sounds really sore. I had something similar about 4 weeks ago and it really helped to see a chiropractor. I also thought I was having an ectopic or that I had a clot because it was agony everytime I breathed in but it was just muscular. I hope it eases soon.

JoJo - that is absolutely terrible and surely they are not allowed to refuse you a scan? I hope you manage to sort something out. There must be 100's of woman not registered with a gp/with a temporary address. The whole point of the nhs is to be inclusive to all.

Sarah - loving the ravioli. I have been eating lots of things like Batchelors pasta n sauce which is pretty junky! Just craving carbs and comfort food which explains why I am rapidly expanding!

To everyone else still feeling terrible, you have my sympathies. Luckily I don't have to work but do have 3 small ds's to run after. Just had a nap whilst my youngest did and stuck the others in front of the tv. Feeling marginally better now!

Newyearsday - how horrid to have had a crash. I hope you are ok. Can you self refer to your local epu? Ours is great and you can self refer for a scan even if you are just feeling anxious!

Chefette & Stealthtoddler - welcome. I also have 3 ds's so am bracing myself for the girl comments this time. I'm sure that is why people will think I am having another one when the truth is I think it would be easier to have another boy!

Sorry that I can't remember other personals. I am trying. Do people open 2 windows to remember? My memory is terrible at the best of times but even worse when feeling sick and knackered!

Right off to build a pirate ship. Hope everyone enjoys their afternoons

dameflamingo · 01/08/2012 16:03

Gosh you ladies are prolific! I turn my back for 24 hours and there's so much to catch up on. Sounds like the Aberdeen Massive have identified themselves -yay! Good old mumsnet! I don't know any other people in the same boat as me in my location, yet - until we go public you guys are my most excellent sounding board.

Well, I am officially the LAZIEST person on this tread -you were all up talking, looking after others and even performing Blush whilst I snored...both ends of the day. I have never even considered a triathlon or a run come to think of it and the idea of writing a PHD thesis makes me come out in a cold sweat of fear at the amount of time involved. Despite this sloth like counternance I am now classed as unhealthily thin for a 'woman in my condition' -blinking hyperemis (and my mother who passed on her teeny tiny genes in the first place).

I cannot name check as I am a bear of no brain or memory but to the poor person who has lost half a stone through vommitting - I do hope your midwife can help you. I was in a similar postion from 5 weeks and was given metoclopramine last week and it makes a huge difference. Have managed to keep down liquid for 5 days and solids for 3...today I even managed to fit in a bag of wotsits and some strawberry laces ( health food???). First proper junk craved and eaten in over a month. The tablets are a miracle...don't be fobbed off.

I cannot get over how unhelful the 'system' seems to be to the very people who need extra support. I read your description of your experiencejojo and it sounds just so typical of the bureaucracy of the NHS that truly gets in the way of great patient care. Its such a shame because the clinicians are working so hard to get it right... Hope it gets sorted.

Hope everyone is having a great day today. Its really exciting but clandestine time isn't it? we're telling my parents this weekend but holding off a couple of weeks to tell work etc ( despite my recent hospitalisation they don't officially know). Mind you telling my dad might be similar to telling Mrs Rigby's DFIL... he also likes to share a bit too much!!!

Chefette · 01/08/2012 16:21

Pirate ship sounds ace!

Will admit to having totally gone off junk food, no bad thing I suppose!

The whole PG thing in Angus, or nhs tayside seems very different to what happens in Aberdeen or nhs Grampian. All very forward thinking, scans galore, hypnobirthing encouraged, water pools, all of the tests, midwife led unit in my town, and then the specialist unit in dundee and get choice of knowing sex of pea should you want. JoJo you've drawn a short straw it seems with being in limbo-try a few surgeries, Kemnay, Inverurie, pitmedden nrewmachar, dyce maybe to see if anyone would take you on? Can't remember where you said you thought you'd be for b-day come the time? Ie Scotland or York?

mandasand · 01/08/2012 16:43

hi everyone, anyone else watch wig go win gold? I very rarely get excited about sport but that man, this year especially, has been awesome!

it was a nice break from a v-e-r-y slow work day. went back to bed for ten mins after seeing DH off to work and woke an hour and a half later. not good for productivity! have to say, though, I think my overwhelming tiredness is sorting itself out. I'm week 9 now - does that sound right for this stage? nice to have a bit more energy.

sorry to hear about your car accident, newyear. poor thing - hope you feel better soon.

go jojo! you can do it!

pinkpeony, I have a textedit window open next to the web window, else I wouldn't be able to remember anything!

welcome stealth!

backwardpossom · 01/08/2012 16:43

Even different parts of NHS Grampian are different, chefette - Moray seems a lot more organised than Aberdeenshire!

HaitchJay · 01/08/2012 16:50

My area doesn't do NT scans , judging by MN we are a minority. Though our maternity services are in shambles and under review. There's talk of downgrading the nearest mat unit to MW led which would scupper a lot of people as the next nearest is an hour away.

JoJoBella84 · 01/08/2012 17:14

Yeah I'm under the temporary care of Dyce at the moment chefette will be back in York by September 20th and then under the care of Kemnay from January when I move up properly. Giving birth at the CMU at Aberdeen maternity hospital. I'm going to find out if they have birthing pool, think I'd quite like that!!

GummiberryJuice · 01/08/2012 17:29
Em2010 · 01/08/2012 17:48

Just a quickue from me as I'm on my phone and I've got to go to the supermarket in a minute to get supplies for a picnic I've just found out in going on tomorrow! gummiberry your dogs sound gorgeous!! I'm another one who has Labrador plans! But probably not whilst we live in this house as its rather small!
jojo one of my best friends recently had a pool birth, she is tiny and her DD was huge but she didn't even tear! She was really glad she went for the water option.
Hello to everyone else!! I had a massive nap earlier so hopefully I will have lots of energy later to come back and post properly!

JoJoBella84 · 01/08/2012 17:49

If you had a chocolate one that I could call Oscar... I'd be round in a shot :D
We're taking our time online looking for reputable breeders in Aberdeen. I want Oscar to be my running buddy and he has to be particularly dopey and affectionate :)

littlemissloud · 01/08/2012 18:12

Hi ladies, wondering if I can join in although I am aware am quite late to the party!

I'm 29 and have an EDD of 07/05/13 and this is my first baby so really haven't got a clue about anything at all.

Coming up for 9 weeks tomorrow but yet to have my booking in appt with midwife- that's next week. I did have an appt couple of weeks ago but had an awful tummy bug and couldn't make it. Now hoping this doesn't mean I will be late getting my scan as I'm a teacher and really wanted it in during the hols so I can tell work upon my return in Sept but really not wanting to say before I've had my scan!

All very exciting although not feeling totally real yet, hubby saying I'm not allowed to purchase anything til 24 weeks to be safe Sad ! Hope he doesn't think that includes maternity clothes as I can tell that is never going to happen!

Looking forward to our journey to March girls!

Sheldonella · 01/08/2012 18:54

Hi ladies. I've not been around for a couple of days but I have come back to pages and pages! I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday - came home sick from work and spent the rest of the day sobbing. Poor DH didn't know what to do with me :( I have stayed home today too and watched the olympics all day and I feel a bit better now. I just don't feel like I can get through a full day anymore at work and it makes me really panicky. I hope this passes.

Nice to see all the grand plans :) I would love an Aston Martin too, or at least a Lotus. Also want to live somewhere more rural and learn to ride. All in good time :)

Sorry to hear about the rest of you that are feeling crappy. I have been talking to my cousin who went through all this a year ago and she promised me it will pass.

Sorry for not namechecking, I will catch up properly later.

HaitchJay · 01/08/2012 18:59

Hi littlemiss :)

sheldonella preg emotion or is work that bad?

roteelefant · 01/08/2012 20:09

How are we all this evening? DP is out with his mates tonight so I am home alone with a M&S curry and the tivo (and the swimming Smile)

It seems I'm in the minority with not being able to get enough of DP - I had today off so I umm surprised him at work (which is fine - he runs his own business as is the only one in the office half the week)

So glad I wont have to deal with the who mat leave thing - well in the same way.

Loving the grand plans lady - Mine is to move back to continental europe (I'm from liechenstein) but DP isn't up for it (well just yet) and at the moment work needs me here. Having my horse in the UK would be nice. We do have the car though - Aston Martin Rapide (bought it for DP for his birthday).

Hello littlemiss and stealth

Sheldonella glad you are feeling better than you were yesterday. I'm sure it will pass

em and jojo are new dog is coming on the weekend. A mongrel but he definatly has old english sheepdog in him. Can't wait Smile we both had dogs as kids so it will be great to have one again esp for baby to have a dog growing up. He's called Sean. Grin Grin

newyear crash sounds awful but at least you and DC are okay - I'm sure if they were worried they would have rushed a scan.

I am ever so slightly in love with wiggs mands DP loves cycling and didn't move from the TV when the tour was on.

With any luck Zoey the pain will ease up soon.

Ohh well the bath calls me now :)

tiddleypompom · 01/08/2012 20:24

''Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz Aston Martin...

Long live those dreams - and may we all win the euromillions :o

Shattered, fat, full & wondering how I'll manage without DH tomorrow day/night as he's back at work after 'moving house holiday' and staying over till Fri. How on earth you mums-of-four cope I do not know. flamingo I am firmly on the bench with you (a bear of little energy for gyms/doctorates/works of genius). Though I do think I have flair for singing in the shower...

Sunnymeadows · 01/08/2012 21:04

lexi if you're over 7weeks it's not ectopic, that's what my MW told me Monday (coz i was worried about it).

manda it's to do with core muscles. They said safer not too use free weights but ok to use machine weights.

I work In London, 1hr and 15 commute each way. Too tired to exercise when i get home so i go at lunch. Lovely to get away from my desk. Im so into swimming now lol. The commute doesn't help my sickness tho, oh well.

Thursday tomorrow, almost the weekend :-)

HermioneBoo · 01/08/2012 21:08

Hello everyone! I've been doing very little other than working and sleeping and watching the Olympics and have only just caught up with all the posts!
Hello all the new people!
I've been really worried all day and in tears this evening, yesterday I went to fill my car up with diesel. Forgot to wear diesel gloves and managed to get some diesel in my mouth (was chomping down quavers but didn't wash my hands of the diesel.) Now, I've accidentally eaten diesel quite a few times and I get an upset stomach (I get an upset stomach over a lot of things) which I got this morning but then all day I've been getting really bad cramps, no sickness and more energy than normal, plus my bloating disappeared. This was all at work so I managed to work myself up in to such a tizz, I thought I'd hurt my jellybean. DH rang his mum this evening, she used to be a health visitor, and she said that I need to rest. I know that such a tiny bit of diesel won't make any difference and what will be will be but still, am I just getting upset over nothing?
Ahhh I have no idea how you all fit so much exercise in! I wake up too nauseous to do anything and then in the evening I'm too tired to move! My gym have rung me up wondering why I haven't been in (they're friends of mine and I was a gym bunny before 5 weeks, they're not being over zealous!). I do have an active job so luckily I'm not ballooning just yet but I am driving myself crazy, I'm even torturing myself by watching the triathlons I was going to compete in and dreaming of the times I would have got! Not that I'd swap jellybean for anything, not even Olympic times!

JoJoBella84 · 01/08/2012 21:54

Hmmm my OH is watching a programme about the secret lives of waves so I'm checking in to see how every one is??
I popped into mothercare this evening to get measured for some bras, found myself wondering around the prams realising I can't afford the £500-700 required to buy my pram of choice, so I'll be searching eBay!
I bought two beautif bras though. I'll feel much smarter wearing those than the sports bras I've been reduced to in recent weeks :)

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 01/08/2012 21:55

Hi all, I just can't keep up with you lot!!!

Still feeling a bit bleuggghh. No sickness yet, just sporadic wrenching and that full feeling that quite of you mentioned.

On subject of sex, my DH is getting NONE at the moment. I am just not interested! With first pregnancy, I couldn't get enough and he wasn't interested at all once I had a bump, but this time, no way Jose!

DD is still poorly and v whiney. DH stayed at home with her today, I am off on leave again tomorrow so I have done the grand total of one day at work this week.

Definitely no exercise going on here and hasn't really been any since DD was born. We have one car, and both commute to work with early start and 6.30 return home, do by time DD in bed and all fed and watered, just ready for a bit of tv and bed! Rock and roll!

Jojo situation sounds ridiculous. There must be plenty of people, students or people in the forces for example who will not have one permanent address?!? Crazy!

And ZOey that operation you had sounded hardcore!!! You brave lady!!!!

No PhD here, just an MSc that I finished when I was pg with DD and was working part time. I nearly threw the towel in so many times times at the end, but so glad I finished it. Keep motivated those of you having to study or write papers.

I'll apologise at this point too for typos,as I'm sure there'll be plenty! Grin

Lexiindisguise · 01/08/2012 21:57

sheldonella know the feeling, really struggling at work too, like a zombie! Hope you feel better tomorrow!
Off to bed now - have a good night, ladies Smile

MrsRigby · 01/08/2012 22:37

I don't fucking believe it, I've just typed a great big reply whilst logged in, I hit the post button and I'm thrown out - goodbye post I've wasted an hour on.

Really fucking angry now.

The long and short of it is blood test done this morning, don't know the results yet and took another pregnancy test showing PREGNANT +3.

Waste of a fucking hour.

Goodnight.

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 00:09

:( mrsrigby hate it when that happens. Fingers x for you for the result

backwardpossom · 02/08/2012 00:12

Hope you get good news tomorrow Mrs Rigby

ThreeForTea · 02/08/2012 00:24

Aye yi yi, for the last five days I haven't been able to do bloody anything (apart from view Olympics, and use I did cheer for wonder wiggo today manda ) my exhaustion is so extreme that I just don't see how I am going to be able to go back to work next week when my a/l is over. I literally could barely stand up for more than 10 mins at a time. The nausea can be craicked with sea bands and strategic snacking, but the tiredness is awful, and I'm usually a really active person who practically never.gets to sit down! Has anyone ever heard of a pg person being signed off just because of exhaustion? Or should any alarm bells be ringing?? I was very tired when pg with dd, but I still commuted, worked full time and just went to bed early, this is like having constant flu or something Confused
