Horseylady I had a similar midwife issue with my DD. It's a sad state of affairs really - I got the same MW by about 28-30wks & she remained throughout the rest of my pg & after (except for the birth), so I hope its the same for you.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 11/07/2012 15:20

MissMummy I have had my eyes tested recently. Didnt mention my pregnancy though - didnt see it was relevant really.

Chunkychicken · 11/07/2012 15:48

Bloody hell. Why did my first pg seem to be smooth sailing with none of the usual minor irritations of pg, thus lulling me into a totally false sense of security about how cope I cope in pg??!! I have started to develop slightly blotchy skin on my face, with some red & brown marks. Having looked in my pg book from first time around, these red marks are called spider naevi & the brown marks are chloasma and both are normal, due to increased blood flow & oestrogen. Didn't get this first time around but then, I didn't get ms, dizziness, sore gums etc first time either.Angry

A sore bunny here. Fell off doorstep (sober) completely forgot there are three steps. Had just put a howling DD2 in the car along with DD1. Thank God I was not carrying a child at the time. Just hurt my ankle and pride. Thankfully top half ended on grass which is mega soggy. Baby will be fine

ValiumQueen · 11/07/2012 16:53

Had to call my mum to get the kids in from the car. Very sore but I don't think anything is broken. Grr!

daisychain76 · 11/07/2012 16:53

Congrats chunky. Just spent a lovely day with a friend who went through her reusable nappy collection with me! Think I'm going to buy the bottom genius flips, basically because they look simplest. Has anyone tried these before?

Was supposed to go to home birth session tonight, but too tired to face it. My friend went last year and reckons it was just about hearing one couples' experience, whereas I want facts and figures (but have been too lazy to even google them).

mrswee · 11/07/2012 16:57

applepie Gap are good true to size if a little on the big side. I always have to go up sometimes even two sizes in h&m.. they skimp on material!

good about the scan chunky sorry about the low placenta. When I had my scan on monday they said mine was looking too close.. closer than 2 cm but then asked me to empty my bladder and found it was actually more like 4 cm away so should be ok. he said it can move over time. He said 75% of placentas move out the way.

god my job has been so stressful over the last week. so much for resting!

TheDetective · 11/07/2012 17:00

I'm in your sore club Valium I somehow managed to drop a full bottle of 2L Fanta Zero on my foot. And it landed up right on it, so even more friggin' painful. There was a lot of OW OW OW OW OW OW going on....!

And I was in Asda at the time Blush I'm now hobbling, its not bruised, but its very sore 2 hours later!

Hope your ankle improves! And yes, baby is well padded in there! However, if you landed on your bump, are you Rh neg? If so, I'd ring up as you probably will need Anti D. If you are Rh pos you will be fine!

I'm off to pick up my £2 baby bouncer soon... yippeeeee!

On the bump front pardon the pun what are they like now? Mine is now a definite bump, its pretty neat, considering my pre pregnancy size! Its all on front. I imagined looking terrible this time as I was a skinny size 8-10 last time! However, it looks okay with my clothes on anyway!! It started off looking like 2 rolls of fat! Now its pretty much one roll!! Just want my belly button to come out a bit now!

mrswee · 11/07/2012 17:01

Get the keys for the flat tomorrow!!! I don't know how I forgot to mention that.

got another sneak preview today as they finally let us in the measure Hmm this morning.. not much point but I had made such a fuss I decided to take them up on it.
It does need everything done but it's not at all as bad as I'd worked myself up on! much of it is cosmetic and easily fixed. the wood panelling is everywhere but I had a wiggle at it and it seems to not be glued down, but tacked with small pins on to a frame, so hopefully will minimise the plastering work - phew!
the garden is much better than I remember, I'd worked my way into thinking it needed landscaped.. it really doesn't! lol

daisychain76 · 11/07/2012 17:04

bum genius I mean!

capedcrusader25 · 11/07/2012 17:18

Ouch valium! Rest up if you can. I kicked the foot of our bed on the way to the loo (one of my many mid-night trips)! Cried my eyes out, felt like my toe was about to explode, honest Blush I haven't really got a bump :( I still have my belly bar in and there's no stretching there over the bar or anything!! I have bump envy Envy x

kissyfur · 11/07/2012 18:09

Hope your bruises heal soon Valium and detective!

My bump feels and looks pretty big for 21 weeks, definitely bigger 2nd time around! One of my friends had a baby recently and I look like she did at about 8 months! Blush

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/07/2012 18:20

Mine is steadily getting bigger, still carrying low but it will be all the way through thanks to my long torso.
It's def bigger at the mo than it was at 21 weeks with ds. I've got photographic evidence to prove it!

ValiumQueen · 11/07/2012 18:35

No concerns about rhesus detective and bump was not anywhere near the impact zone. Have foot up with tubigrip and frozen cauliflower on it. Still hurts like a very hurty thing. Family saying I should go to hospital but if it was broken I would not be able to weight bear and it would be the size of a football by now. Can wiggle toes and rotate ankle with no crunching. Bad bad sprain, but nothing more (wimpers)

My bump is not pretty, and just looks like too many pies still. I work with people with addictions and they generally are very slender when pregnant, and have the neatest bumps, and fart out tiny babies with no extra pain relief. Sometimes I feel inadequate physically. Huge generalisation there, but relevent none the less.

Chunkychicken · 11/07/2012 19:33

Have a def small bump but only obvious side-on, as I still have a waist etc. When naked, I look v pregnant, with the swollen E cups and the belly button starting to protrude, and still only 21wks!! Think my belly button popped early-ish with DD too, although I feel a bit bigger now. Will have to get the photos from last time and check... I think the keyhole appendectomy scar above my belly button has sort of caused it to 'prolapse' so stick out a bit early. It's def more obvious at the end of the day than the morning.

TheDetective · 11/07/2012 19:43

"I work with people with addictions and they generally are very slender when pregnant, and have the neatest bumps, and fart out tiny babies with no extra pain relief. Sometimes I feel inadequate physically. Huge generalisation there, but relevent none the less."

Yes, they are, do, and yes.... but many have rotten no teeth. Swings and roundabouts ;)

capedcrusader25 · 11/07/2012 20:03

Where's that from thedetective?! I would just my bump to be a bit more bumpy...if that makes any sense!? Instead of making me just look like I'm extra fat at the moment :o Just be careful valium I broke my arm in 2 places last year and it didn't hurt in the silghtest - got straight back up, carried on out work and drove about for the next two days! It was a little swollen and after two days dp convinced me to go the GP in case it needed a bit of support/physio. Woops!! X

ValiumQueen · 11/07/2012 20:43

Gosh caped I will see how it is over the next couple of days, and if no improvement will get it checked. Would love the sick line, but could not cope in plaster as I am the only one who drives, and DD2 is too fast as it is. it feels like I am walking on a ball, and my toes are somewhat floppy when walking. It hurts! Miss Brufen and alcohol.

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/07/2012 20:43

She's kicking like mad tonight :)

I think I might have an iron deficiency. I'm so incredibly tired all day long, even having a nap doesnt seem to help, I've got no energy for anything and sometimes feel breathless/ faint and my heart beats v hard.
I don't know whether to just eat iron rich foods til I see my mw in 12 days as she might have to do bloods first or just start taking iron tablets of my own accord. Don't want to self diagnose if it's something else.

TheDetective · 11/07/2012 20:48

eBay caped :)

horseylady · 11/07/2012 21:25

Thanks chunky. I'm not especially worried to be honest as I'm in and out within 5mins lol!!! Anyway have laxatives, have matb form.

Bump on graph was ok, the baby has a heartbeat again.

Quick question I've had another tiny bit of brown discharge, am very constipated and seems to read online it could be pressure or something? Anyone else? It is really a very very small amount! Think I'm just concerned with going away!? Heartbeat was very strong he's still very wriggly!!

ValiumQueen · 11/07/2012 21:29

I had a tiny bit of brown, but it was after a good shagging. Brown is nothing to worry about. Movements are the important thing now x

horseylady · 11/07/2012 21:37

Vallium brill thanks!!! Very confusing knowing what's what!! Im not worried, just wondered if I should be lol!!

ValiumQueen · 11/07/2012 21:48

I am no expert though, so I would perhaps try to rest a bit more. Then again I am a lazy fat arse, and this is super fit horsey x

Evilwater · 11/07/2012 21:48

I've not had any brown spotting.
My baby has been active today, which has been great!

My energy levels have gone south, I just can't rush around the ward. I've done two earlys and it's been tough, as the I've worked with the boss, but I've manged. Tomorrow I've got a late so I can save my energy, and build some up.

I've got another shift with the boss on Friday that's three this week!
8 weeks to go till I'm off on mat leave! YAY! :)
