Baby after preemie

Hi everyone

I am expecting number 2 in December and I am worried....my first pregnancy was terrible, i had bad skin, hair and pains from the start, with morning sickness and pre eclamsia- my baby was born at 30 weeks and we spent 6 weeks in NICU.

Second time now and i havent really had any symptoms, I sometimes forget i am pregnant- i am only 7 weeks. I am worried whether i will have PREM again and go through the same thing with a preemie child and i cant bare the thought.....has anyone here had a preemie and then a full term child?

Thanks in advance

Well I was in a similar position to you and had my 1st dd at 31 weeks after p/e and HELLP syndrome.... I waited about three years and had some pre-pregnancy consultations which put me on a trial for high Vitamin C and E tablets every day and baby aspirin. I had my second baby at 37 weeks by c/s as the consultant said I would probably develop p/e and there was no point in waiting (which I completely was happy about!). I went onto have a 3rd and I was under a p/e specialist at St Thomas' in London and I made it to about 38 weeks, when again I had a c/s.

I think the key thing is just to be aware. I was given 'wee sticks' to check protein and I had my blood pressure taken about twice a week. Just make sure everyone is aware of your previous situation and takes note....

Feel free to pm me if you like.
