Good luck baileys will look forward to seeing your pics x

I second h&m maternity clothes my lovely mum kitted me out from there as really struggled, the leggings are fab i found that the size down from my normal size were better and I've worn them for the last few weeks post pregnancy, also still wearing a couple of the tops x

off out today with the troop for a day by the seaside wish me luck :)

Teds77 · 09/08/2012 09:49

Hope all goes well Baileys will be thinking of you today xxx

mandasand · 09/08/2012 10:49

Good luck, Baileys! Thinking of you and hoping everything goes really smoothly with the birth of your three precious babies. Smile

Thanks everyone for brilliant sartorial advice!

In other news, after getting a bit boggle-eyed researching everyone's suggestions on singleton prams on the March 2013 thread, I looked through a few old twins threads and I think the OutnAbout Nipper Double might be the one for us: www.mumsnet.com/reviews/pushchairs/double-buggies/9379-outnabout-nipper. Looks like we can use it from birth right through; the newer model is only 72cm wide; our local pram centre has it for sale at £300 (which doesn't seem too evil?); and it's light! Though if I can get a good secondhand deal through TAMBA that would be good too.

Maybe this is not the moment as we all wait with bated breath for news from Baileys (in addition to the fact I'm only 10 weeks!) but at some point it would be great to hear what prams people who've already give birth have gone for + pros and cons.

bigboobsatlast · 09/08/2012 12:13

GOOD LUCK BAILEYS!!!!!!!!! you have done so so well to get this far (I still think of you on the helicopter after your incident on Morrisons!!). Make sure you take one last picture of what must be an impressive bump and post on here please

Can't wait to here news!

mand - we all have opinions on double pushchairs so when you are ready ask us! I have a Mountain Buggy duet and love it - only downside is it is heavy getting it on and out of the boot.

Hello everyone!

mandasand · 09/08/2012 18:59

Thanks, bigboobs (and I have to admit your name makes me chuckle every time I read it!)

I'm having one of my not-feeling-very-pregnant days. Weeks 6 and 7 I had loads of intense period-type cramps. Now it's just the odd twinge (and the funny sharp pains in my groin area, brought on by stretching, laughing, getting up too quickly from lying down etc). Did anyone else experience a drop off of cramping as things (I'm imagining, thinking positively) settle down and get established? I'm 10 weeks and a few days now.

baileyslover · 09/08/2012 20:41

Hi guys
Wow I am now a mum of four Grin
Babies were born this pm, all seemed very routine and I feel so much lighter, with a belly button again.
Abigail Sarah weighs 4lb 9 1/2 oz
William Stanley weighs 5lb 9oz
Georgina Lucy weighs 4lb 10 1/2 oz.
All doing well, on enriched oxygen and Georgina may need some cpap but no big probs so far.
My BP bit low (as expected) so not sitting up yet but feeling good. Will hopefully get to meet them later this eve
Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Xxx

angelpie2012 · 09/08/2012 20:41

So excited to hear Baileys' news!

So I'm 27 weeks today and feeling more and more confident as each week goes by. Also had a scan yesterday and all 3 are average weight for single pregnancies at about 2 lbs. But I know it can all change quite quickly so just have to keep positive.

2 more weeks of work to go - can't wait until I'm done as loads still to do around the flat with planning but wil try work from home at least 2 days a week for the next 2 weeks which will help.

mand - re: prams, I think everyone will have particular preferences etc depending on their situation. We really liked the Mountain Buggy Duet but we've decided to go for the Babyjogger City Mini (Double and Single) as they fold really easily and are more compact which will be easier for us with travelling since we'll have the single and double pram to cart around! I have a friend with twins and she loves her Out 'n' About pram as well. We found it easiest to go to John Lewis as they stock all 3 so we could compare them side by side and then order them online once we'd made our choice. And then carry cots and travel systems/car seats add a whole new dimension to it!

Re: car seats, we're trying to find three really basic ones since we don't have a car so won't be using them that much. There are some quite cheap ones by Fisher Price etc but I was speaking to someone who said she wouldn't get anything below the OBaby-one price-wise and that's £70. If anyone hasn't gone down the Maxi Cosi travel system route and has any car seat recommendations I'd be really grateful as we'll need to get those quite soon!

angelpie2012 · 09/08/2012 20:43

Oops, our messages crossed - congratulations Baileys!

And such good weights as well!

ClaireMarathonFeeder · 09/08/2012 20:49

Awwh baileys congratulations, thank you for letting us know!

Take care of yourself and get some rest, now! Good to hear babies are doing well and have good weights, you are a super special mum! Smile

gardenpixies32 · 09/08/2012 20:59

Triple congratulations Baileys!

Good weights for 3 babies and lovely names.

DreamingOfPeace · 09/08/2012 21:12

Oh Wow baileys you did fantastically!! What great weights Grin I bet you're feeling over the moon and I hope you've been able to go and see them by now. Are they in speecial care for now then? So glad to hear they're all ok and you are too. I hope you're all together soon, and out of hospital soon. Beautiful names! Do we get a pic soon [cheeky request emoticon]?

I'm shattered and heading for bed- just had to pop on and check for baileys wonderful news (maybe its the tiredness but I'm just so happy and a bit emotional over three beautiful new babies!!!) so really brief manda but I have the baby jogger city mini double too. It's fabulous. I have the single for DD too. Its one quick manoever to fold, (folds flatter and lighter to lift than the out n about nipper), great sun/rain hoods which are individual, so if one of my babie sis asleep and one awake I can have the sun hoods accordingly (nipper is just one hood for both and doesn't cover so well for if they're sleeping), very easy to push (as is the nipper). If you want off road tyres, baby jogger have just brought out the city mini GT which does have the off road tyres which is a disadvantage, maybe, of the city mini (though I love that it can't get a puncture). We went up to the Lakes today and pushed it round grass/gravel (not so great, admittedly) and paths and it did fine. I think th enipper is also a very good buggy, but I'm very pleased I've got the baby jogger not the nipper for me! The boot space, weight, folding and sunhoods swing it for me Smile . If I had more to spend I'd have looked at the MB Duet like bigboobs and rednellie

Kazar99 · 09/08/2012 22:20

Congratulations baileys fantastic weights and lovely names. Well done and take the opportunity to get as much rest as you can while you are in hospital :)

mandasand · 10/08/2012 00:25

congratulations on your three little bundles of job baileys! really happy for you and your family! hope you can rest and recover now Smile well done!

thanks sooo much for the pram info! Think am going to start a spreadsheet or something! great idea to compare side-by-side in john lewis!

night all

bigboobsatlast · 10/08/2012 08:38

Baileys - well done you! Those weights are amazing. I hope this little ones are doing well this morning and you have been able to have cuddles. I love your names - all say 'I am an individual' and also go so well together - how did you manage to acheive that??! You must be very pleased with your choices - I particularly like William Stanley Smile

For those of you looking at pushchairs - I got John Lewsi to price match Kiddicare - so got the cheaper price but a high street shop (with good customer service IMO) to go back to if you have any problems. Saved me about £40.

I do love my duet but it IS heavy and takes up the whole boot pretty much - but for me it is great and the step on the front gives DD some where to purch when she has 'sore knees' (what she says when she does not want to walk any more!).

My MN name was due to my usually v small boobies becoming rather sizable (for me) during pregnancy!! But sadly back to just scraping in to a b cup now!

angelpie2012 · 10/08/2012 09:57

Hope you're recovering well Baileys - I imagine the feeling of 'lightness' must be amazing after the last few weeks!

Dreaming - if you have time, I'd be interested to know at some point what you did about car seats. Part of the reason we're not bothering with the full travel system is because we've been told the city jogger double will only fit one car seat.

DreamingOfPeace · 10/08/2012 19:52

angelpie, I have two maxi cosi car seats, one donated by my dds best friend after she moved out of it (at about 15 months, she's a titch!) And one second hand from a friend of a friend at a toddler group for £30. I bought one base new and one from the toddler group lady as i live in a village so we drive everywhere.. So it didn't work out too expensive. There are often pairs of seats going on the TAMBA boards? they're not meant to be in them for more than two hours anyway so I didn't bother with any adaptors. Mine are terrible, awful sleepers but sleep best in the buggy, and i find if they're dead asleep in the car seats I can get them into the buggy, rock/ move instantly and they go back to sleep/ stay asleep, usually.... shame I'll still need mine. I've a silvercross Ventura in the garage too but I'm north west and think you're London?? If they're for occasional use I'd try nearly new sales/ tamba etc. I think its highly unlikely people have crashes and sell on the seats but that's the reason you're not recommended to buy second hand. Incidentally I bought Which? membership specifically for car seats and there were some Don't Buys which weren't cheap and one cheapy seat which had crash tested really well- think £45 but can't remember which it was so that's a bit useless, sorry... The Ventura is about £90 new, does great for head on collision but not so good (passed but 'average') for side impact protection. Price isn't that useful. I'm a car safety fanatic too, DD is still rear facing in an ERF, the BeSafe iZi Combi and she was 23 months this week!!

Sorry for the ramble Blush

DreamingOfPeace · 10/08/2012 19:56

Oh, and i didn't know it only took one car seat anyway, but for a short nip somewhere with three it'd certainly speed you up being able to clip two babies one on the single and one on the double? If one of mine is awake, the other is asleep usually. Seems to be The Rule... I've got a triple buggy too, triplet from birth suitable (the abc everest) and people are genuinely disappointed I don't have triplets if they spot the buggy!!!

BB3 · 10/08/2012 20:17

Baileys - huuuuge congratulations - those weights are amazing and just lovely perfect names! Well done you! Cannot wait for pics and updates. Get lots and lots of test and take care of yourself and those little ones! How was the op? Is dh over the moon? Can't believe you have four babies! 2 days ago you had just 1!!! How are you feeling?

I have the bugaboo donkey and we used car seats and carry cots a lot until recently.

angelpie2012 · 11/08/2012 06:40

Thanks Dreaming - that's v helpful. Yup, I'm in London and am normally the sort of person who'd go for everything new etc but with 3 on the way and the fact that we won't use a car all the time I'm trying to be practical.

And thanks for the Which? tip, agree that safety'll be the most important consideration.

baileyslover · 11/08/2012 08:05

Ho guys, quick update.
Babies doing fab, in normal cots with no oxygen supplementation. Getting formula via nasogastric tubes to allow then to be weaned off glucose drip. Georgina had a good go at suckling last night.
I on the otherhand feel like shit Smile. Hormonal and strong after pains this am. Hoping some milk will appear soon and I can get more mobile. Good thing I am not planning on going through this againGrin

Kazar99 · 11/08/2012 08:05

Morning everyone - just a quick update from me.

More babies, just a few weeks earlier than expected. Boy weighing 5lb 1.5 oz and girl weighing 4lb 7oz :) :) Names still to be decided.

Should definitely have finished packing hospital bag earlier. Stuffing things in a bag at 5am in morning isn't recommended :)

Kazar99 · 11/08/2012 08:10

baileys I think I could have written most of your last post, except my DD is on forced air but all very similar to you apart from that. Will hopefully be able to express some milk later today as they come off the glucose. Hopefully will get up to see them properly for first time soon :)

gardenpixies32 · 11/08/2012 09:36

Congratulations kazar, such lovely news! Keep in touch on how you are all doing. How many weeks were you?

Glad they are all doing so well Baileys, I hope you start to feel better soon :)

baileyslover · 11/08/2012 10:19

Wow kazar what a lovely surprise Smile
Think you are 35weeks? Was it c-section or VB? We can do tandem expressing! Hope little girl gets off cpap soon and you get to gave a good cuddle soon. It is amazing how as soon as you get your hands on them the discomfort seems to disappear. Xxxx

baileyslover · 11/08/2012 10:22

Oh and 5 new babies for the thread within 48hrs Grin Lots of newborn cuddles to go around
