Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I planned on going back to work after having DS but then found out I was pg so had to go back for a week or so then handed my notice in Blush I just doubt I'll be able to work with a son and twins only one year apart Sad.

I'm really excited, I DH put oil and moisturiser on multiple times a day purely because I'm so self conscious. I have a few pale ones though which hopefully won't be too bad.

Am really panicking about the birth now but I've had a lot of time to think about it what with being stuck on the sofa while DH and DS went shopping then I got stuck on the toilet now I'm stuck in bed Sad I just want them to be born now as I can't do so much, it feels like I haven't been able to give my DS a proper cuddle for ages Sad

(sorry for essay)

bigboobsatlast · 02/08/2012 08:50

Blimey, turn my back for a few days and the thread has gone crazy!!! Welcome to all the new multiple-mummies to be and soooooooo excited that we will be getting some news from you soon Baileys! Sorry no indicidual hellos but time is short as babes are beginning to stir for milk.

Yes you will get big and uncomfortable struggle to move but you WILL manage. By the time your babes are ready to come out you will want them out and so fear of birth gives way to excitement and relief that you will meet your babies. Best thing for a good birth (natural or CS) is to do all you can to stay calm and positive - focus on the excietment and relief of the pregnancy coming to an end. And be prepared to adapt to whats needed - I don't think it is a good idea to have a too strict birth plan IYSWIM, although of course you have choices you need to express to the Docs.

My ID boys are three months and I have a 2.5 yo DD. It is full on but it is WONDERFUL AND BRILLIANT. Honestly, it really is. I still can't believe I have TWINS!!!

I delivered naturally, with epidural, and it was a good experience - in fact brilliant. Had DD without pain relief but could not have done that with the DTs - epidural was reccomended anyway but I bloody needed it! Once it place it was fine and the boys came out without assistance and although born at 36+4 they were fine and we were onyl in hosp for one night :)

And whoever said about the phrase 'you have got your hands full' - that is so true!! I hear that 4 or 5 times a day when I am out and about. As well as the odd negative comment like 'you poor woman' and 'thank God I don't have twins', but ignore them because they don't know what they are missing!!

So huge congratulations to all the new peeps, hoping the preggers peeps are as comfortable as you can be and hello to all the new Mummies too!! Exciting times ahead for us all x

bigboobsatlast · 02/08/2012 08:51

Oh, and I finished work at 27 weeks and would not have gone on any longer as was exhausted, but others have worked for longer - it depends on your job and how the pregnancy is going - but definitely prepare to leave earlier than you would have with a singleton.

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 09:00

I have been panicking about the birth, but as it turns out, I didn't have a lot of time to panic.

I'm currently at home in labour [scared emoticon]

Midwife has been, said it all looks ok but looks like it's going to be a slow one (which after my rather speedy previous one I guess I deserve it)

My little sister, DH and DS are here at the moment. MIL is taking DS when she manages to arrive and my sister is going to stay for a bit, she really calms me down, but I only want her here if it's going to go smoothly. She's only 16 and I want nieces and nephews Grin

bigboobsatlast · 02/08/2012 10:57

Ladylilly!!! Are you 33 weeks? You will be fine and it sounds like you might be meeting your DCs sooner rather than later. I hope things go smoothly for you. Grin at your wanting neices and nephews comment!! Do you know what you are having? Have you got names sorted? Sorry, I am sure you have got better things to do than answer my nosey questions :)

mandasand · 02/08/2012 11:02

LadyLily, we'll all be thinking of you! Just keep in mind what BigBoobs below says about focusing on meeting your babies and just getting through it all as calmly as possible, focused on that one thing. Glad you have your family around you. Rooting for you and waiting for good news! (And just think - you won't get stuck on the toilet alone again post-birth!)

Thanks for the advice everyone - it's really good to hear others' experiences Thanks

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 11:07

Yes I'm 33 + 1. It's going fine, just slowly and boringly.

No I don't know, we wanted it to be a surprise, so just bought loads of unisex stuff but now I'm worried it's all going to be miles too big. Dr says he thinks they're roughly 4lb.

That's fine ask away, I'm bored so need entertaining anyway.

Haha my DSis is sitting here wincing, she just looked at me all innocent and said "I'm never doing that, you can do it for me though if you want to volunteer" (bless her)

bigboobsatlast · 02/08/2012 11:31

they might be a bit big so someone might need to pop out and get you some 'tiny' or 'early' baby stuff. But they will soon grow and fit the 'newborn' size. 4lb sounds a good weight. are they ID? Great that you don't know what you are having - the best surprise is coming soon!
DSis is hopefully helping to keep you relaxed and MiL comes soon to take DS. You can then let rip and start ordering everyone about to do everything possible to keep you happy!!

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 12:37

Hi LadyLily's sister here.

I've been given strict (but slurred) instructions to let you all know that (I'm assuming MIL is mother in law) her MIL has taken her son to her house.

I think her husband is going to go at some point or his mum or Lily's mum will bring some smaller stuff.

What's ID?

mandasand · 02/08/2012 12:53

Ooh we're thinking of leaving the sex a surprise! Yay! (I think ID is identical twins...but I'm new to all this so could be wrong!)

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 12:57

Oh right, I don't know if they're identical or not, would Lily know or not? If you think it's something she'd have been told I'll ask her, if not, I won't because I want to live Grin

twin2makes4 · 02/08/2012 13:22

lily how exciting yes she would know if id as your care is decided based on this, my id girls were born at 34+5 and were around 5lb and were in tiny baby, they went to scbu for the first night who dressed them in their clothes so you should have time for someone to go get you some bits, asda and tesco both do that size :) good luck

bigboobsatlast · 02/08/2012 13:24

ha ha LadyLilly's DSis! I think your sister will know if they are ID or not but I think it is probably best to not ask her anything other than 'what can I do for you' - and even that might not end well Grin!!

Look after your sister and we will hear the news soon I hope x x

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 14:03

I asked and she kida slurred identical (high on gas and air, not drunk) so I told the people on her other thread and they said that they think all identical twins are ceserean (not sure about spelling) so I guess she said not identical Blush

It's pretty dull, apart from her swearing a lot I'm bored and she's only 3cm

mandasand · 02/08/2012 14:26

You're doing a great job, LadyLilly's DSis!

LadyLilyWilliamSnowflake · 02/08/2012 14:32

Thanks I feel scared as hell though

mandasand · 02/08/2012 14:48

Tell me about it. I freak out watching One Born Every Minute. Can't fully comprehend that this will be me - and with twins! - in a few months!!! But have faith - women's bodies have been doing this for ever and we now have all the medics on hand if extra help is required! Courage!

ClaireMarathonFeeder · 02/08/2012 14:49

Just wanted to eish ladylily best of luck, and your sister sounds brilliant, my mum and sis would have panicked by now!

Will keep checking in to for baby news, is it normal to feel broody again??

twin2makes4 · 02/08/2012 15:20

Bless you your doing a great job and if your in the UK identicals can be born naturally mine were 5 weeks ago!! First baby has to be head down x

gardenpixies32 · 02/08/2012 15:47

Good luck LadyLily!!!!

Am totally freaked out now. Was only worrying this morning that I have loads to do still. Am going to get as much done as possible this weekend.

Sending you lots of good thoughts :) :) :)

Ruprekt · 02/08/2012 21:37

How is it all going LadyLily?

Kazar99 · 02/08/2012 21:41

Hope it is all going well LadyLily. Fingers crossed for an easy labour.

GardenPixies I'm now panicking too. My due date is 2 days before LadyLily and I haven't packed a hospital bag yet (or even got all the stuff for it). Think that will be a job for the next day or two. Moved house a couple of weeks ago and babies room isn't ready yet, cots aren't even ordered (although they do next day delivery so not too bad) and car seats only arrived on Monday! My friend is expecting twins 3 weeks after me and she was in hospital yesterday for monitoring as they thought she might be having contractions but all ok and she's home now. Think I've just realised my babies could be here any day now - can't decide whether that's good or bad :)

ClaireMarathonFeeder · 02/08/2012 21:46

Looks like ladylyly was not genuine, her other thread was deleted earlier by mshq.

Ruprekt · 02/08/2012 21:47

HAve just read that she was a troll!! What an odd thing to troll about!!

Attention seeking I suppose. When I saw the thread had gone I thought the worst had happened with her babies. Sad

ClaireMarathonFeeder · 02/08/2012 21:47

I thought I'd let you know so you do not worry about her.
