Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kazar99 · 20/06/2012 21:08

Hi everyone. No more spotting :) but phoned the midwife yesterday to check. As I couldn't guarantee that I could feel both babies moving (only had movements down one side and at top) they took me in to MAU for check up. Midwife couldn't figure out how they were lying either, found heartbeats in 3 different places but couldn't tell which baby she had found so got doctor in with portable scanner. Took him ages to find the second heartbeat which had us slightly worried! All good in the end - they are just in awkward positions, one head down at bottom/middle on right and one transverse across top so nothing at all on bottom/middle at left. Surprised my bump still looked so even! Think they've moved again since then :) so will find out at my 28 week scan on Monday. Hopefully will get a better idea of whether one of the placentas is still over my cervix or has moved out the way. Haven't thought much about how these 2 will actually get out - suppose I should find out about ante-natal classes :) I finish work on 13 July so not long to go.

dreaming hopefully things will get better soon. My friend's DS had really bad colic and constipation. It all seemed to improve from 12 weeks so fingers crossed you are the same. Think she used infacol, gaviscon and gripe water. She used to dilute the gripe water to get her DS to take more liquid to help with the constiption as he wouldn't take water on its own but liked the flavour of the gripe water :)

going hope that you are still cooking those babies for a bit longer and there have been no more labour signs!

galaxymummy · 23/06/2012 13:16

Hi Kazar, hope things going well I have info re antenatal classes if you are interested
galaxy
xx

Kazar99 · 23/06/2012 18:11

Hi galaxy. If you could pm me the antenatal info it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hope everyone else is having a nice lazy weekend. I certainly am - have spent the day on the couch with my feet up watching tv :) main reason being that my feet seem to have swollen loads so trying to keep them elevated to reduce the swelling but it's not working fast enough for my liking! That's what I get for standing in heels (not very high) in a hot pub for a couple of hours last night at a colleague's leaving do. Flat shoes for me from now on I think. Will need to shorten all my maternity work trousers to wear flats with them though :(

goingmadtrying · 23/06/2012 18:33

Sorry in advance for the negative post :(

I have hit a massive brick wall and could honestly just cry!, im 34 weeks tomorrow and only have to wait another 2 weeks till i get to meet my little girlies, but im really not sure how im going to cope for the next 2 weeks i haven't slept properly for weeks i am struggling to function as my bump hurts, my bump is huge and babies are low down so causing me pain when i stand up, I've got swollen ankles and legs which don't go down, and now hurt cause theyve been swollen for so long, I've started to feel sick again and today just was the cherry on the cake as went weekly shopping and just couldn't cope with doing it and quite honestly could have cried all the way round, im also so so mardy my poor dc's and dh can't do anything right, my braxton hicks are painful to the point i went in to hospital on Monday but they aren't amounting to anything, I've also lost my mucus plug so thought things would start and im still waiting........ :( :( :( :( :(

Sorry again just needed to write it down

DreamingOfPeace · 23/06/2012 20:55

goingmad, don't be sorry, its bloody hard. I cried every day for the last month of my pregnancy I think, so from your stage on... For me, rib pain I couldn't get away from in any position plus reflux/ heartburn that was painful despite ranitidine were the worst, plus the lack of sleep. But its worth it, it really really is. You'll have lovely big healthy babies who'll be easier to feed etc for being a little bigger. And you'll get there. We've all been there, I was so desperate for the end. Also in (with reduced foetal movements twin 2) at week 36 and my braxton hicks were so strong and sore they thought I was in labour. They did nothing either. So chin up, just focus on doing one day at a time, and online shopping is the way forward!!!

DreamingOfPeace · 23/06/2012 21:00

Ooh, rubbish about the trousers kazaar, how long are you carrying on at work? I stopped at 28 weeks and it was such a relief! Fairly physical job though.

goingmadtrying · 23/06/2012 21:05

Thanks dream i feel awful and guilty for feeling this way :( my little babies are so so wanted and i feel im come along way to get here, just can't see the end at the minute, my dh is a god send and said he'd do the shopping and stick to a list lol and my darling dc's have been so helpful and loving, but this all makes me feel worse :( ill hang on to what you said I've only got 16 more sleeps or lack of thanks again i hope you and your babies are getting on ok xx

DreamingOfPeace · 23/06/2012 21:16

I was the same, I felt guilty for being so miserable being pg with such wanted little babies. One sleep or lack of at a time, you never know, you could go into labour tomorrow. That thought helped me sometimes . My boys have been lovely today, both smiling and cooing. Shame poor Ben is still colicky, I'm one handedly mn-ing while doing the walk and jig, Tiger in the Tree style... Now for practicing your sleeping boys! They're 12 weeks on Wednesday Shock,so I'm a bit despairing of both the sleep and colic atm

baileyslover · 24/06/2012 07:50

going really don't feel guilty about how you are feeling. I know where you are coming from re sleep. I am sooo tired by bed time, but know that once I have been in bed for a bit everything starts to ache and I am wide awake. Starting to dread bedtime really.
People I meet say that I am not as big as they expect. Seeing how I am currently bigger than at term with DS, and still 6/7 (hopefully) weeks to go I feel plenty big enough! Also the skin around my belly button is super sensitive, to the point I can hardly touch it and clothing irritates it. Any one else experience that? Struggling with doing the washing up now as cannot reach the bowl unless belly touching the work surface or bending forward, neither of which are very comfortable.
On a more positive note Smile have started wearing a pelvic support belt when out and it appears to stop the groin pain from developing. Also have now collected our 2 further carseats from friends and the second hand triple buggy has arrived, so house slowly filling with paraphernalia.
28 week scan and anti D injection on Tues so fingers crossed next milestone almost reached Grin

baileyslover · 24/06/2012 07:52

By the way, anyone watching Eastenders? Normally not a regular viewer but happened to see end of last episode, think I may have to avoid fully next few weeks as think at similar gestation to Janine and don't think my hormones will cope

Kazar99 · 24/06/2012 10:09

going you should not feel guilty. You've done an brilliant job getting 2 babies to this stage. Not long to go and they'll both be good weights now even if you do go a bit early. It will do DH and DCs good to get used to you not being able to do much as once DTs arrive, they'll have to do more all the time!

dreaming can't believe they are nearly 12 weeks old already. Must be lovely to start getting more interaction, smiling, etc from them. Hopefully the colicky phase will be over soon too. You have been an amazing mum to cope with 2 with colic/reflux and should be very proud of yourself for what you have achieved. Hopefully some more sleep is on its way soon :)

baileys I know what you mean about tiredness/sleep/bed. There's nothing worse than being shattered than knowing that when you do go to bed you will waken up everytime you get unconfortable/need to turn over. Washing up has definitely become more effort here too with bump in the way. I think I've been lucky with this pregnancy so far but now just starting to feel the challenges of carrying two - huge already and less and less clothes fit me each week. 3 weeks left of work and now trying to work out whether I can cope with heels for that or whether to shorten my work trousers to wear with flats. Sit behind a desk all day so might just kick the heels off :) feet and ankles have been swollen since Friday and not going down despite spending most of yesterday and as much as possible in bed last night with my feet raised :(

baileyslover · 26/06/2012 21:03

Hiya, 28 week scan today all good weights increasing with all above 50% for singletons. Range from 2 1/2lb up to boy fatty of 2lb 13oz. Scarily now have provisional date for ELCS of 9th Aug, so 44 sleeps to go (if I get that far) Grin.
kazar when is your next scan? Hope the ankle swelling has reduced and the next 3 weeks of work speed by.
going how are things with you? Hope no more tightenings and you are able to get some rest. How many sleeps to go?

goingmadtrying · 26/06/2012 21:41

Must catch up with other news but going wishing you all the very best for tomorrow. You will be amazing and before you know it you'll have your amazing babies in your arms Smile.

Lilyni · 27/06/2012 22:14

hi everyone .... sorry there has been radio silence .... it's been a BUSY house!!!!

hope everyone is keeping well and babies are cooking nicely!!!

just wanted to say how wonderful it is being a twin mummy - all those crap problems when pregnant are forgotten when you have your little bundles in your arms.

As you know i now have five kiddies under 8 but things are a lot easier than I had imagined. The boys adore their little sisters and are so much help to me. We have no hired help but are coping really well (so far anyway!!!). The girls are such a joy and my hubby has been a star!!!

The only unfortunate thing is that I had to give up breastfeeding - I simply did not have the time for on demand feeding, which is a pity as the girls latched on so well. I feel a bit guilty as I bf the boys until they were 10/11 months but needs must - I needed to be able to spend time with the boys too. The girls are well settled into a routine now and only wake once a night - and settle themselves again!!

sorry for a me me me post but I just wanted to let you know how special it is to have twin babies and that all my fears during pregnancy were unfounded! its great!!!!!! will try to post some photos.

BB3 · 28/06/2012 08:11

bigboobsatlast · 29/06/2012 11:43

just seen that you are being induced today Going!!!!! You probably won't see this but I am wishing you all the luck that things go smoothly and you can oush those girlies out without too much 'uncomfortableness'!! Xan't believe you will be meeting your babies today - can't wait to hear the news.

Hello to everyone else. Glad things are going well Lilyni, and yes join us on the ultiples thread. And Bailieys, sounds like you are doing an amazing job with your three! And you have a date - wow!

All good here. Boys are now 8 weeks and are really settline down. Only had to feed once in the night last few nights (although admitedly they dont go to bed till 9pm) and dd still adores them. Yes it is hard but it is fab too! Pregnancy was definitely the hard bit! So hang on in there it will all be worth it in the end x

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 29/06/2012 12:15

Hi ladies, I'm a possible twin carrier (ivf). I've got a scan on Tuesday which is obviously pretty definitive, but when I spoke to a midwife yesterday she said as I wasn't being sick (7+3 today) that it was doubtful to be twins. Obviously I just want a healthy baby but having been told by clinic that twins were very likely I feel almost disappointed!
Did you all have horrific morning sickness?

baileyslover · 29/06/2012 14:43

slightly I was nauseous with my triplets. One day of sickness, but suspect stomach bug as DS1 had been vomiting few days previously. To be honest first 12 weeks didn't feel any different to first pregnancy, which is why the triplet diagnosis at 12 week dating scan was a total shock. Grin
Good luck for scan next week xx

claireinmodena · 29/06/2012 14:47

Hello slightly,

I didnt have much sickness, more nausea and indigestion thsn my single pregnancies, but no symptoms until about 10wks! I found out I was having twins at 9 weeks and had no inkling at all about it!

bigboobsatlast · 29/06/2012 15:03

Hi Slightly, I had awful awful morning sickness compared to first (single) preg. Felt sick all the time and had no energy for the first 14 weeks. But it is not like this for everyone - there really is no way to tell either way! Good luck with your scan and let us know x
