going so pleased you are at home. You can join me in the lounging around Smile. Leg much better, but think more bottom triplet pushing on a nerve rather than a muscle strain. Can walk fine after been lying down, but over time it gets more painful. Hopefully getting a support belt on Monday which should hold them up a bit.
Suspect the next few weeks are really going to drag though.

Teds77 · 07/06/2012 19:13

Evening twin mummies to be and twin mums. Trying to catch-up but very behind. Forgive me, I'm 32+2 and really struggling!

going so glad you are safely home - make sure you look after yourself and your littlies.

baileys the air ambulance and now the aches and pains don't sound good but glad you are now a lady of leisure. My body is really starting to stuggle - our frames are just not designed for all these babies!!

Belated congrats to nomorewine lilyni and scollister hope your new arrivals are doing well.

kazar glad to hear you'll be done by 31 weeks. I was just about coping up to last Friday but yesterday and today have been so hard so I reckon it's good to be all done at work before you reach the 32 week mark.

bigboobs just catching up on the horrid news about DT1. So very glad that all has got better even if the nights are tough going. Lovely to hear that there are smiles though Smile

Waves to all the other twin mums - desirin BB3 Dream rednellie and Claire and anyone else I might have missed. Thanks for all the tips on getting stuff - the big shop starts next week!

Am hoping that babies will stay put a little longer but at the scan yesterday little boy was estimated as 4lb8oz and little girl at 4lb5oz so looking pretty good. Also both head down so we may be all go for having a go a natural delivery. Seeing the consultant next week to discuss and possibly to get a date - he seems keen to deliver at 37 weeks rather than 38 so I could have my littlies with me in five weeks.... if not before!

xx

baileyslover · 10/06/2012 22:30

Hiya everyone. going keeping my fingers crossed for Tues. I can understand feeling torn, wanting to meet your babies and getting them monitored closely, but at the same time cooking them for as long as possible. Hope the BP settles with rest and the consultant is reassuring.
teds not surprised you are struggling at 32 weeks. Have you finished work now?
I have my 26week scan and consultant appointment on Tues. Starting steroid injections as well which is all a bit scary. Hope they are not too sore. Think we are still planning on a 34 week delivery, but clearly they aren't taking anything for granted.

baileyslover · 10/06/2012 22:32

Forgot to say, my little trip in the helicopter made page 3 of the local newspaper. Luckily not named otherwise would be very Blush

claireinmodena · 11/06/2012 13:19

Hello all

sorry for long absence, but have been kept busy by the little darlings!

belated congrats to all the new mums!

baileys glad to hear you are better, your helicopter story reminded of when I fainted at work at 9 weeks still blisfully unaware that i was carrying twins. Whisked off to hospital, but by plain old ambulance though, and there I was given the news!

going glad to hear you are back home and the babies are still safe inside, hoping they resist a bit longer!

good news Tedd about babies being head down, and good weights.

My little ones are now 4 months and doing great, we are even getting some sleep and they're all smiles, giggles and cooing. it is a massive cliche but you do forget about all the rest (even the 8 weeks forced bed rest yes!), they are just such a joy!

Best of luck with all your pregnancies, I will keep checking in for newborn cuddles!

BB3 · 12/06/2012 10:23

Going - glad your home.

Teds - 32 weeks is great but tough I remember sitting in my consultant chair crying inside when they said I still had 6 weeks to go before they would deliver the babies as I wasn't sure how I could possibly last 6 more weeks!

Waves to everyone else, hope you're all resting lots x

goingmadtrying · 12/06/2012 17:04

Hello everyone :)

I am feeling very happy today after a very positive consultant appointment, babies are doing fab weighing in at 4lb 4oz and 4lb 6oz!!! :). Finally booked in for my induction on 9th July so only 27 more sleeps till i meet my girlies Grin Grin Grin iron levels still low so keeping an eye on that. 1more scan and 1 more mw appointment, reckon time will fly!!!!! Grinning from ear to ear [grim] Grin Grin

baileyslover · 12/06/2012 22:31

Great news going. really good that you have a final date to work towards.
Had a good scan today as well, weights are 2lb2oz, 2lb and 1lb13oz so all still on course growth wise. Consultant happy with everything and is talking c-section 34 weeks so only 8 weeks to go Smile. Had my first steroid injection today, which wasn't as sore as I thought it would be, so generally a very positive visit Grin

BB3 · 12/06/2012 22:33

Yay going and Bailey - loving the positive posts today Grin how exciting!!!!!

goingmadtrying · 12/06/2012 23:32

Fantastic news baileys and lovely the weights are following the same pattern, wow only 8 weeks left!!! That'll fly :) can't believe a difference a few days has made, we got the cot out today and its lovely, everything is really coming together Grin

Teds77 · 13/06/2012 12:43

Thanks for the well wishes from the twin mums - still very sore at the moment but have now finished work so feel like I can keep going for a bit if that's what it takes. Also our builders are back in the house so actually want babies to stay put for a little while now!

going baileys glad to hear that you're had good appointments. going I've posted on your induction thread - but just to say we're all head down too so we're planning to go as 'natural' as possible with birth. We're not setting a date until 36 week scan and appointment (4 July) - think it's all a bit more relaxed as I'm DCDA and all I've no problems so far. Looks like it'll be 19/20 July at the latest but I feel fine not having a definite date now that I've at least had a 'conversation' if that makes sense! Confused

On the down side we only just picked up today that my bloods at 28 weeks showed low iron so I'm now on massive doses to try to boost the levels. Ho hum!

baileys they sound like fabulous weights and not far off what my two were at 28 weeks. I am in awe at you growing three!

x

Hello everyone, just popping my nose in to check up on everyone.

I'm thinking of you going, even though I haven't been on this thread for a while. Good luck in the next week, I'm excited to hear your news.

Teds, can't believe you're 32 weeks plus. I remember when you were furtively lurking...seems only a short while ago!

And baileys, good to see you're doing a fab job, hope the injections aren't too onerous.

We're all doing well here, coming out of the early days fug and have hit the 3 month mark. DD loves her brothers and has (almost) stopped maiming them and they're giggling like mad so we're enjoying ourselves.

Waves to everyone and hopes to see some newbies on the postnatal thread soon!

OP posts:
Teds77 · 18/06/2012 12:35

Morning rednellie tis a bit quiet on here so nice to be popped in on! Well done on reaching 3 months and lovely to hear that DD's special love for her brothers is getting better Grin I know it can't be fun but is does sound like they will be an adorable threesome given a bit of time.

My kitchen floor in being installed today, pictures for the nursery are being framed and if I'm feeling energetic I might just make a trip to John Lewis to buy some cots...

Hope everyone else doing well. going does radio silence mean babies have arrived?! Shock

goingmadtrying · 18/06/2012 17:06

Hi everyone

no sorry Teds babies have yet to make an appearance :( i know they should cook for a little longer but im really ready for them to come, did think things were starting last night as was woken by pains however they had gone off this morning although lots of pressure down below and pains, also have had some strong bh today which have taken my breath away and now have back ache??? Hmm also sorry for tmi but have felt wet down there today with increased discharge and earlier when wiping had some stringy mucusy discharge which was yellowy in colour, anyone had this?? Wondering whether its the start of a show????

Hope everyone ok :)

Teds77 · 18/06/2012 18:02

It is difficult isn't it! Grin I am very uncomfortable but I've got my head round waiting a few more weeks. Though there is no pressure on me to do very much (no toddlers! diary totally empty after Wednesday) so I feel that as long as I only have to do a few things each day, I'll cope fine.

I have terrible back ache and am very conscious of odds bit of extra wetness (tmi apologies...) and got quite a few bh yesterday, but feel like babies could stay put a while. The yellow mucusy stuff sounds a bit different to anything I've had though and could be a 'show'?? Now just make sure you don't disappear for a few days otherwise I'll be worrying... Wink

baileyslover · 18/06/2012 20:41

Hi goingsteds hope those little ones stay inside a little longer. On tmi stakes I do find a bit of increased wetness after having a pee, think there might be a bit of pooling Blush as it is fine in-between times. going it does sound like it could be a show, but think this can happen days before anything starts so keep cooking!
Just been watching the Walton sextuplets. How she managed til 31 1/2 weeks I have no idea! Doesn't look like they had much help either.
I am generally doing ok, DH definately thinks I am bigger than just before DS born and really feeling it. Hips are aching overnight and walked a bit too far on sat so my pelvic pain has flared up a bit as well. Really feel for you guys further along

Kazar99 · 18/06/2012 21:38

Hello everyone

rednellie glad to hear that things are getting better, that DTs are happy and DD is being friendlier with them :)

teds and going hope you are both coping, not long to go now, and hopefully those babies keep cooking longer for both of you

baileys hope you are feeling a bit better. Can't imagine how you are coping with triplets; I feel like I'm getting huge with just the two!

Had more comments today from people at work surprised I was still there. Even more surprised when I told them I wasn't expecting an appearance of babies for another 10 weeks!

On the tmi topic, has anyone had any spotting? Had some pink today on wiping but only a little bit twice. Seems to have stopped now. Not sure what it was. Should I be bothered?

DreamingOfPeace · 18/06/2012 21:52

Oh you're all doing so well! going, I always thought I'd get to term but after 35 weeks I half heartedly just wanted to go into labour to be done with the pregnancy. However, 2 big healthy babies later I'm so glad i got to 37+6 so hang in there!

baileys, huge respect for cooking 3, as always. My friend/acquaintance with the triplets says hers are still very sleepy and sleep a lot at 5 weeks old but feeding them takes 90 min a go... (Mine take over an hour sometimes for the both so I can well believe it)

teds eek, not long now. Good they're head down, I hope all goes well. As 'natural' as possible not meaning no pain killers, or does it?! What cots are you looking at? (Still a sucker for looking at nice baby equipment I won't be buying!)

My boys are gorgeous though still very hard work. 10 weeks 5 days and we're still plagued by colic :( . Plus not sleeping... Up two hourly all night and not necessarily the same two hours, and waking the other baby isn't working for me as I can't re settle the one I've woken. Plus, worst of all, DD is back to her nighttime antics . I am back to the Landing Vigil sometimes while also trying to feed baby/babies. All a bit more depressing as 10w5d was when DD slept through for the first time. Come on boys!!! As that was all about sleep you can see what my current focus is :) . In other news, like rednellie, I'm ebf and that's got a bit better since 9 weeks ish. DD loves her brothers, often wants them in her cot for a cuddle in the morning, kisses them (read slobbers all over them) continually and so far so good there. Seb is a really cute chubby little baby, he's less colicky and really starting to do more smiling and cooing. Ben is much more like Isla was, big big eyes, much skinnier, but suffering with reflux/ colic. However he has had his first few times of being awake and calm/ smiling in the las8t week so I'm delighted. All the crying is heartbreaking.

baileyslover · 18/06/2012 23:29

kazar I think some spotting can be normal, but worthwhile mentioning at next check, sooner if it carries on tomorrow.
Re size of bump I love the looks of incredulity when I say my due date is the end of Sept and the person doesn't know I am carrying more than one. Grin
dreaming colic sounds pretty horrific, do the doctors think it will settle at 12weeksish or are you in it for the long run? Lovely to hear DD is so loving, definately think I will have to watch DS like a hawk as he has a habit of scratching/pinching faces when he feels ignored and I suspect his already dubious behaviour is going to take a nosedive when these guys appear Sad To be honest it is my current big worry, I can see him becoming one of these nightmare boys that you see on supernanny. But maybe that is my hormones talking Wink

Teds77 · 19/06/2012 14:13

Just doing a quick check-in - can I just say that I LOVE maternity leave! Grin

baileys apologies but I probably have a slight singleton annoying fascination with you growing 3 and I certainly can't get my head around 6!! Until 31 weeks?! Anyway, without suggesting you are large, with 3 in there and all the extra fluid etc, you can't be that much off the size of going and me so I'm not surprised at your DH's comments/your aches and pains. Look after yourself and those little ones.

Kazar are you finishing soon? On the spotting I would either keep an eye on it or maybe set your mind at rest by either phoning the midwife or going to your MAU. I went in for monitoring a couple of weeks ago for all my swelling (!), nothing wrong, felt a bit of a fraud but it put my mind at rest so it was worth it.

Dreaming it sounds like it's tough on the other side but it does sound like you have an adorable threesome too. Really hope the colic passes soon. My friend has 18 month old twins and send me this yesterday - hope it cheers up you and anyone else having a tough day -
There will be times when you might feel it is too hard, too intense and too unfair but it never is, you will be a wonderful mum and have cared for them amazingly already. You will be surprised at the things you will manage to achieve, even having achieved so much in life already. They are a magical thing twins, I am certain you already feel that, and they will just prove that feeling right at every moment you most need them to, and that is a wonderful thing to behold and sometimes necessary in the face of the chaos!

rednellie · 19/06/2012 23:04

going that does sound a bit like a show. Mine only appeared in DD's birth during the labour and this time around I didn't have one at all, so it varies a lot, as is the case with lots of things to do with babies! I would mention it to your midwife though and/or stick a pad in your pants and save anything that comes out. Gross I know, but they like to have a poke around...Grin

We're doing really well - DD loves her brothers (she did from the start, just had an interesting way of showing it) and I can definitely echo what Teds friend said. The boys are magical and it's lovely watching them grow and change - one's got green eyes now and one's got bright blue!

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 20/06/2012 19:49

Baileys I'm praying it stops at 12 weeks (that's one more week DT2, you hear me?!). I've got more pics of them up- one of my triple buggy too, assume the one you're getting, the everest abc? Tried infacol, colief, gripewater, feed spacing, gaviscon... No joy so far, poor little tike. Though the crying is stopping 10:30 latest in the last week which is an improvement so Fx. It is very special being a twin mum though and i wouldn't change it. I get so much pleasure out of the boys on a good day and am still a bit amazed there's two :)

DreamingOfPeace · 20/06/2012 19:55

Any news kazaar on the spotting or going on the show?

goingmadtrying · 20/06/2012 21:04

Hi dreaming sorry your having a hard time with the colic but glad to hear things are ok on a good day :) my ds2 really struggled (we later found out he was allergic to milk! Another story) but one thing that did help him was baby massage, my health visitor came to the house to teach me, in terms of my show have lost a couple of bits more but tightenings have slowed down alot :) we put the pushchair and cot up today so excited can't wait to meet them, only 18 more sleeps Grin Grin

Hope everyone else ia doing ok x
