Oh baileys you poor thing! What a bugger it happening when DH is away too. Have you got anyone to come sit with you? Get a mate to come and hold your hand. What excitement!

And shouldn't they get you to eat something? Surely that wont make you feel any better?

OP posts:
baileyslover · 28/05/2012 19:34

Home now, spent the afternoon snoozingSmile. Also managed to get dinner out of them before I was discharged so no need to cook, will just have some toast in a bit. Just giving DS a bath, think my bed time won't be too long after his with all the excitement today!

BB3 · 29/05/2012 10:24

Huge congrats lilynil and scollister - really well done! How are you getting on with your little ones now?

Baileys hope you're ok - make sure you take it easy!

Going - that's a great bargain - ours was 1200 ish with car seats but no foot muffs so that is great!

We have two days left on our hold and so far it's been good - kids have coped really well with the heat and love swimming in their double float (best thing I ever bought for this holiday!) will catch up and update properly when I'm home Friday

Xx

BB3 · 29/05/2012 10:24

Going - what colour did you opt for?

goingmadtrying · 29/05/2012 11:48

sand base with pink Grin, id already got my car seats from boots i think i paid about £130, at the show the pushchair with the car seats was £1099. i can't wait to use it Grin Grin

DreamingOfPeace · 29/05/2012 18:43

Baileys, sounds like you're doing a tremendous baby growing job. How scary about your episode in Morrisons. although was the air ambulance good? I hope it was just one of those unexplained things that never happens again.

goingmad, bit Envy of your donkey. Sure my boys would look pretty in pink...

My duo are still not sleeping at night, at all. Well, for more than an hour. I had a stress at 5am this morning that if DD got up at 6 and I didnt get any more sleep I actually wouldn't be able to cope (I'd be up for hours by then). Had to go and wake dh... Blush . Bit melodramatic no?! They are blooming 8 weeks tomorrow though, so damn well should sleep a bit.

rednellie · 29/05/2012 19:39

dream, that's exactly what I wanted to ask about the air ambulance! Terrible aren't we? Really glad you're ok though baileys, now take care of yourself.

OP posts:
baileyslover · 29/05/2012 23:33

Air ambulance was good, especially with the rather attractive paramedic Blush. By then my heart rate had normalised so I felt fine and able to enjoy the view on a very sunny day Grin
Been signed off work today, only 8 days left but not worth the risk really, so now officially a lady of leisure
Oh and 24 weeks tomorrow Grin

goingmadtrying · 29/05/2012 23:59

omg!!! baileys completely missed the part about the air ambulance, what an eventful day indeed!!! glad to hear your feeling better and yay for finishing work, your right it defiantly is not worth the risk :) enjoy being a lady of leisure, remind me when will they allow you to go to?? 24 weeks is a fantastic milestone Grin

goingmadtrying · 30/05/2012 00:01

dreaming im sure your boys would love a spin in the pink lady, sorry to hear their settling quickly im sure one day it will.just come, must be so hard trying to function on no sleep :(

Lulabel27 · 30/05/2012 15:27

hello everyone please can I join? Its early days for me but i'm so excited and i 'd like to speak to someone about the fact I'm hopefully having twins! Had an early scan yesterday (8 weeks) and I have MCDA twins both heartbeats present, both measuring the same. No history in family, total fluke...

Scaring myself silly with stories on the internet so trying not to get too excited but would love to join you if I can and get some pearls of wisdom! I also have a 16mo dd.

DreamingOfPeace · 30/05/2012 22:24

Oooh, goingmad I saw a pink and black bugaboo donkey out today with 2 carrycots on so clearly twins and i thought of you (I know yours is sand). Nice pram. :)

Hello lulabel goingmad is expecting mcda girlies, she'll know more about mcda. My dcda boys are 8 weeks today and for my duration on this thread I was Queen Worrywort. Ask, share, rant and chat away here. Being a twin mum is lovely if truly exhausting . My DD was 18 months when the dts were born. She loves her brothers but I'm roping in all help possible.

goingmadtrying · 30/05/2012 22:57

the black and pink is lovely, the sand tones down the pink slightly that's why i decided to go with the lighter colour :) glad you like it

welcome lulabel i found out at 6 weeks we had mcda twins, its been a worrying road but 30+3 now and can't wait to meet my girlies, i get scanned every 2 weeks so looked after very well, mcda are not passed down it just happens, family history does not matter, my mil is a triplet so that could have come to us!!! lol welcome to the journey Grin

BB3 · 31/05/2012 06:41

Bloody lost my post to curse of the iPhone! It basically said how bloody gorgeous your babies are and I'm coming to steal them as I was new born baby cuddles Grin!

Hi lulabel - huge congrats and welcome! my non id girls are 8 months now and worrying is normal until they are at home and bedded in a bit so you have some more months of anxiety ahead of you - queen worry wart (dream Grin) will vouch for that Wink. but stay away from google - it will drive you to distraction with worry when actually most twins pg are just fine (although hard or us mummies!). I also have a 3 year old ds and many of the ladies on here have a similar age gap to you so you're in good company!

coming home today, have travelling-with-3-children dread especially as we have to check out at 12 but don't fly until midnight! I hate that about hotels, this is why we normally rent villas! (which we will be doing from now on!)

goingmadtrying · 31/05/2012 07:33

safe journey bb3 hope today isn't too stressful, have you checked whether you could get a late checkout, i think i got one till 6 previously Hmm

bigboobsatlast · 31/05/2012 09:47

Hi everyone! Apologies for radio silence, not much chance to post and when I do its usually on the multiples thread as I need advice / hand holding!!

Welcome Lulabel! I found out at 9 weeks that I was having MCDA twins - complete shock for me as well! If you have any specific MCDA questions then I am sure me and Going can help and hopefully reassure. You will be looked after very well, and I second BB3 comment about google - DON'T DO IT! I honestly didnt, and I managed to stay positive about my pregnancy for pretty much the whole time. It gets very hard towards the end because you are so big, and morning sickness was awful - so there was a window in the middle for 'glowing'! I also have another DC - DD was 27 months when the boys were born.

BB3, hope you had a fab holiday! I really want to go this year, but its not going to happen so it will have to be next year - and likely to be somewhere like the IOW or Devon!

Going, sounds like you are doing really well - not long to go now! Are you next? I think you are! So excited for you. Have you discussed delivery options yet? Having been through it I am definitely an advocate for natural delivery even though MCDA - but I know it is not an option / choice for everyone. Are your head down? I am also rather jealous of your Donkey.... but mine would have to be blue of course! Having said that my Mountain Buggy Duet is brilliant, just rather heavy for lifting in/out of car and it takes up most of the boot!

Baileys - yay for lady-of-leisure-dom!! But boo for scary moment in Morrisons. Glad to hear you are well again now - must have been scary. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job of growing those three babies!!

Congratulations to Lilyni and Scollister....come and see us on the multiples thread!

Dream, sending the sleep fairy your way... but please send her back when she has worked her magic Wink

Everything is going well for us. The boys are now a month old. Nights are hard, but to be honest not as hard as I expected. They annoyingly feed more often in the night (every 2 / 3 hours) compared to the day, but hey ho! They do now settle straight after a feed so at the moment I onyl have to wake up to feed and not settle - but it does take nearly an hour to feed / wind / change both if I do it on my own so usually wake DH to help me

They are absolutely gorgeous (I have put some photies on here). Had a horrible scare with DT1 last week, resulting in ambulance and a three day stay in hospital :-( The good news is he is now back to his usual self and putting on weight. They are now both 7lb 6 and doing really well. They look like proper little boys now! Mad to think that they are a month old and still so small - when DD was heavier than this when she was born!

DD is loving her brothers, but I have to watch her all the time with them though as her 'love' quite often results in squeezing and prodding!! But she is very lovely with them and helps change them, bath time etc. I got her a new dolly and a toy bottle of milk and toy pushchair before the boys arrived, and she has really taking to 'playing mummy' when I am having to concentrate on the boys (eg feeding time) - she just does the same with dolly! very cute.

I have only spent one moring and the odd hour on my own with all three - my parents come and stay two days a week and DD is in nursery three days a week, and then at the weekend DH is around. Being on my own with the boys is fine (at the moment!), but I am under no illusion there will be hard days ahead.... really trying to just go with it and enjoy it, but it is not always possible!

Sorry, turned in to a mammoth post! Make sure you all look after yourselves, rest when you can - your bodies are working so hard! I can honestly say that even though I get little sleep, I have so much more energy not than in the last 2 months of pregnancy!

DreamingOfPeace · 31/05/2012 13:21

Yy to more energy now and mine are complete nightmares, real non sleeping little menaces hard at night. Much harder nights than I was expecting, but both are colicky, one much more than the other, and ebf. So I'm hoping it'll improve soon. I have read that ID twins are far more likely to settle into the same feeding/ sleeping patterns than non id twins who are no more likely to than any brother/ sister. Boo! It makes sense though, and mine just don't synchronize.

Wow goingmad, 30+3... I think you must be next :) . Yes, I had donkey envy, big time ( though I do love my bjcm)

BB3 I bow down to your overseas travel with 3 under 3, even with your mum and sister. I'd love to see a picture of your girls in their twin float? I thought yours were looking very similar? Did you not say pushing them round John Lewis people couldn't tell them apart? Mine are wildly different- different hair colour, different mouths, totally different sizes!

baileyslover · 31/05/2012 22:49

Aargh now I have somehow managed to pull a muscle in my groin and can hardly walk. My body is definately falling apart!

goingmadtrying · 01/06/2012 19:51

oh baileys feel for you :)

i went to midwife today with severe swelling was sent to hospital to be checked and when they monitored me i was having regular tightenings, os is closed although tightenings more painful, transferred to hospital with scubu cots in a ambulance, they are confident i won't deliver but admitted for observations, my dh just brought my stuff in with my boys and unfortunately my baby boy was a bit upset by it all, going to get me some fetching stockings for my swelling. had 1 steroid injection will be having another at 210am!!!! ill let you know how i get on xxx

bigboobsatlast · 01/06/2012 20:22

going, I am sure you will be fine and well looked after. I know it must be scary. thinking of you x

baileys, enforced rest for you!

rednellie · 01/06/2012 20:31

Just popping in and want to wish going lots of good luck. Hope they stay inside a bit longer! And it really is hard leaving your LOs but you will be fine. thinking of you.

OP posts:
baileyslover · 01/06/2012 21:30

Oh going keeping everything crossed for you. Have you got some magazines to read? Hope it all settles and you are home soon xx

Kazar99 · 01/06/2012 23:20

Hello everyone. Sorry, not been on for a while (hangs head in shame). Welcome to the thread lulabel and congrats. It will sink in eventually, honest!

baileys that was a bit of a scare, glad it wasn't anything serious. Make the most of your life of leisure while you can. Hope your pulled muscle eases soon.

going fingers crossed and good luck for keeping them cooking for a bit longer. I'm sure your LOs will be ok - it will just have been a bit of a fright for them to start with as they won't have been expecting you to be in hospital for a few weeks yet. I've gone for a donkey too, but didn't get as much of a bargain as you. Got a nearly new one from eBay to try and save a few pennies.

BigBoobs glad DT1 is better. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job and both are a good weight. Long may it continue :)

BB3 hope you had a fantastic holiday and that the late night journey home wasn't too much of a nightmare.

Congratulations lilyni and scollister about time we got some more baby girls :)

dream hope the colic eases off soon and you can get a bit more sleep.

Well, that's me nearly 25 weeks and only 6 weeks of work left. Didn't expect to be so glad to be finishing but feel like I've got a lot bigger and tireder in the last week or so. Starting to get asked frequently how long I have to go, and shocked looks at the answer! I'm sure coming home from work and spending evenings trying to get the house and garden ready to go on the market isn't helping my energy levels but we've just bought a new place and move at end of June :)

goingmadtrying · 07/06/2012 05:59

morning ladies thank you for your good wishes, well i was finally released from hospital yesterday :) babies are still cooking although i don't see me going much further Hmm blood pressure was borderline and high pulse rate, also still having regular tightenings however the swab test they did showed it was unlikely in labour and as it hasn't progressed they were happy to release me, had a tiny spot of bleeding but cervix was closed, have consultant appointment on Tuesday so hopefully will have some idea what will happen. babies are moving well, both head down and sitting at pelvis but not yet engaged, was reassuring to be in hospital due to being monitored everyday felt a little vunerable when i got home, and quite tearful just hope i know if something is going wrong :( glad to be home with my boys though :) have been given strict instructions to take it easy now, so just going to do the minimum and need to replenish my hospital bag, the hospital stay has made me very nervous about delivering however now so desperate to meet them, im 31+4 today and counting :)

hope everyone else is ok x

bigboobsatlast · 07/06/2012 08:33

so pleased you are home Going, but of course understand you are going to worry about your girls. You have done really well already - and I know that my consultant told me that 32 weeks was considered a real milestone in terms of of the babies came then they have an excellent chance of only needing minimal assistance and 'fattening up'! Every day counts so keep your feet up and let everyone else look after you!

Hello everyone else, hope you are all doing well - the drop in temperature is probably helping you all! All ok here but knackered nd no real improvement in the night, but sure both boys smiled yesterday so all is good!!!
