Checking in for news from scollister... hope you and babes are well.

How is mat leave treating you going?

Great news on scan baillies and mix of pink and blue!

sorry to have to agree with dream but it is si nice to not to be preggers anymore and to have my body back - so I really do sympathise re aching uncomfortable etc bumps! it is all Soooo worth it tho :-)

Teds77 · 08/05/2012 10:58

Ladies - so sorry for radio silence, all a bit manic with work and house renovation work!

desiren I don't think I ever congratulated you on your boys and your birth story!! Love the photos of them, especially the one of they all wrapped up - they look so snuggly and gorgeous! Smile

bigboobs huge congrats on your boys too. Are there any pictures yet?? Edward is one of my favourite boy's names and as I can't use it I'm always delighted when someone else does Grin

dachs belated congrats on the arrival of your beautiful little lady.

Sorry for not doing more personals but hope everyone else is well.

All okay here but starting to get very tired. Saw the midwife on Friday and I'm measuring 34 weeks even though I only 28 weeks tomorrow! Looks like my little man is lying breech and blocking the exit route but have scan tomorrow to see whether that's definitely the case plus still plenty of time for them both to move. Will get to see consultant next week to have an initial chat about birth options.

And, although I am fairly keen to finish work on the one hand, on the other am starting to panic about how much I've got to do in the 4/5 weeks I have left... Shock

Finally, a quick plea for tips! Have not bought anything yet (eek!) what are people's top tips for essentials I really should get ready? Am still incredibly nervous about buying anything so if people also have tips about what we can leave until the babies arrive or stuff that we can order relatively quickly once I'm on maternity leave that would be appreciated.

Thank you! Thanks

Hi teds. I am working on the basis my three will be spending a few weeks in SCBU so just going to concentrate on prem clothes and nappies. Are these guys your first? I guess you need to chose whether you are going to use one cot vs 2 Moses basket to start. I am going down the route of lots of research but no purchases until much nearer their hopeful appearance date.
Having PJ day today as had busy 12 hour shift at work yesterday so trying to let my body catch up. Feels a bit sinful but my consultant keeps banging on about rest so thought I best heed her advice occasionallyWink.

goingmadtrying · 08/05/2012 16:20

hi everyone sorry for the lack of posting been feeling rough and took the boys to butlins at the weekend :) loving mat leave and got some lovely gifts on leaving which was lovely Grin

had consultant appointment today everything seems ok twin 1 is low down so hard to measure now, fluids all good however placenta is low :( she said if i was to labour now not good however she is still confident it will move, im not so sure??? also have been put on iron tablets at levels came back at 9.4 from gtt, on a positive gtt was clear :) estimated weights now 2lb 3 and 2lb 9 anyone now how accurate these tend to be?? she also said if everything ok she would like me to go to week 37 so another week added on.

I've got pyhsio appointment next Monday, feel really fat and wobbly, my back is killing, heart burn and nausea and lack of sleep is making me miserable :( im not a nice person to be around as my poor dh is discovering :(

on the shopping front I've pretty much done Blush have gone slightly overboard!! lol

hope everyone is keeping well and new babies are thriving :)

DreamingOfPeace · 08/05/2012 18:31

Some kind of sling teds! Fussy babies settle well in slings (well, all of my three have/do) and you can do the walk and jig and do things too. I like the ergo baby/ Boba 3G/ manduca style. Really comfy and last to toddlerhood. And stacks of nappies and cotton wool, we have both in a travel cot with bassinette level. It's ok but rolls them both into the middle iykwim. I'd rather have a cot but we went for cotbeds so no room in our room for one of them. Love my double buggy too for getting both to sleep. That's about it though. Oh, and twin feeding cushion invaluable to me for tandem bf. Depends how you want to feed though i guess.

Hooray for a good scan going! Weights not that accurste I think. I was told the scan saying my DT2 wasn't growing well anymore was scan error and they were same weight, within 20grams at 36 weeks. At birth, t2 hadn't grown, he was a lb lighter nearly. I think its good they'll get an extra week to cook, great for their development. Fingers crossed you manage to cook them that long!! The pregnancy is very hard, keep trucking!

BB3 · 08/05/2012 20:57

Hey ladies quickly popping in.

Baileys - rest away and enjoy it! You'll get none in a few months Grin

Going, yay for scan. My hospital refused to give weights as they said they're not accurate but think it's good as a guide.

Teds - I agree re research mostly. Before babies were here I had nappies etc, clothes (basics), changing bag, Moses baskets and had ordered pram and car seats (had 6 week delivery time). That was pretty much it. Essentials for me were Moses baskets and pram/car seat (anything sleep related Grin) and muslins - lots of muslins' oh and knitted hats

NoMoreWineForMeThen · 09/05/2012 06:24

Hi everyone

Sorry, I checked in a few weeks ago but haven't managed to keep up with the thread. I hope mothers, bumps and babies are all doing well?

I was admitted to hospital last week as twin 1 is transverse and they were worried about risk of prolapse cord if my waters went. However, the boys seem very comfortable and there has been not even a tease of an appearance BUT I get to meet them today :)

I don't feel nervous just relieved that the day is finally here and incredibly excited to meet our boys. I feel a little teary so will probable burst out crying at an embarrassingly inappropriate moment but I'm sure they're well used to emotions running high before a section.

I'll let you know how it goes! :)

claireinmodena · 09/05/2012 07:31

nomorewine how rxciting! Best of luck and do come back with news. You know how we like to hear about new babies!

teds agree with BB3 do lits of research first and dont rush into it. The only things I ordered well in advance were moses baskets and travel system as I was ordering from the uk (i live in italy) so I knew it would have taken some time. A lot if other stuff was given to us, ie changing tabld and bsbygros. I just bought two outfits to be worn as first ones as I am a bit sentimental like that Smile.

BB3 · 09/05/2012 07:40

Good luck nomorewine cannot wait to hear about your boys xx

rednellie · 09/05/2012 18:31

Good luck nomorewine - you're allowed to cry buckets! Smile

teds - what the other lot said, also my two boys took turns being breech right up until I gave birth so don't worry about it until MUCH MUCH later. Seriously, one of mine turned in my 37th week and I did not notice. How does that work? But if you do ever get concerned about the whole breech thing give me a shout, I practically had a degree in it all by the end. Grin

NoMoreWineForMeThen · 10/05/2012 04:55

My boys came into the world at just after 1.30pm today. 6lb 11 and 6lb 7!! Unfortunately both are in neonatal as they are having breathing difficulties and struggling to stay warm.

I just hadnt expected them going into neonatal as we knew they were going to be a good weight and I'm effectively full term for twins at 37 + 1 so found it all very emotional.

I did manage to feed twin 2 before they were taken down but twin 1 was struggling too much with his breathing to feed. I'm managing to express tiny little drops of colostrum to send down to them.

They are beautiful. Second twin looks just like his Sister :) Must finally decide on names ... Oh and must get some sleep!

goingmadtrying · 10/05/2012 06:07

congratulations nomorewine glad your boys are here and such good weights, how awful they've gone into neo hopefully it wont be too long and you'll have your hands full :) how cute that t2 looks like dd bet she will love that :) have you decided on names yet? try and use the time to rest so your fighting fit when they do join you and keep updated when you can, sending you lots of positive vibes and big hugs xx

claireinmodena · 10/05/2012 07:46

Congratulations on the birth of your boys nomorewine!

it must be hard not having them with you Sad, one of mine was taken into observation because of his weight and I didnt see him until several hours later and it felt awful, even though I had his sister with me.

Hopefully their breathing will stabilise and they will rejoin you very soon!

goingmad you have all my sympathies, the end of a twin pregnancy is just horrible, I didn't have any problems with previuos two (and I went to 41 weeks) but this one really knocked me off, you ahve every right to complain!!

still no news from scollister??

bigboobsatlast · 10/05/2012 14:51

congrats nomorewine and well done you. your babes will be by your side very soon.

just put a couple of piccies on of the boys - hope they show ok.

I agree with claire, hving newborns is easier than the last stages of pregnancy!!

DreamingOfPeace · 10/05/2012 17:41

Oh well done nomorewine . You got them to a great gestation and weights so hopefully that'll make their stay in special care short. Thinking of you.

DreamingOfPeace · 10/05/2012 17:45

Oh bigboobs they are so gorgeous!!! Can you tell them apart? You clever lady growing those beautiful boys!

rednellie · 10/05/2012 18:19

Congratulations nomorewine, I'm so sorry they've had to go off, but hope they're back with you asap.

bigboobs, you clever lady, they are delicious!

bigboobs absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! Grin

i so can't wait to meet my babies, although i keep having horrible feelings something will go wrong!! so near but yet still so far.......

thinking of you today nomorewine hope you got to see your little men x

goingmadtrying · 12/05/2012 09:20

happy weekend everyone Grin Grin

its my first official weekend off work, so lookin forward to doing very little well shopping and ironing lol!!

had a tough week as my ds1 is being a little naughty at school, resulted in a very emotional day bloody pregnancy hormones im hoping for a better week with him next week, on the positive ds2 is sleeping much better so one hurdle and all that! babies are getting a little more active which is nice,

hope you all have a fantastic weekend bumps and babies :) :)

Kazar99 · 13/05/2012 11:07

Hello everyone.

nomorewine congratulations and fantastic weights. Hope they aren't in SCBU for long. I'm sure they'll be back with you soon.

bigboobs lovely photos. They are gorgeous :)

goingmad great news. How does it feel to be a lady of leisure? Hope DS1 starts to behave again and that DS2 keeps sleeping longer :) Only 9 weeks left at work for me. Can't wait!

Hope scollister and babies are okay.

I'm well but don't feel very hungry and starting to worry I'm not eating enough for growing 2 babies. Also just realised that I'm supposed to be at a wedding evening reception next weekend. Haven't got a clue what I'm going to wear! Could be a shopping trip this afternoon.

goingmadtrying · 13/05/2012 11:19

kazar loving it!!!! 9 weeks will fly by, ill have my babies by then eeekkk :)

don't worry about not eating enough i have really cut down on food, the babies will take what they need from you, my consultant has advised me not to worry about eating proper meals just little and often, just be careful cause im now on iron tablets as mine has dropped to 9.4 was 12.6 on booking bloods, I've only put on 12lbs since beginning at 28 weeks, just try and eat little and often. & a shopping trip this afternoon sounds needed, h&m have a nice range of maternity wear, not many shops have the items in store but my h&m carries a good range, there was casual and going out outfits :)

enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone :)

baileyslover · 13/05/2012 18:16

Hiya, having a chilled out day today. Had my last duty 12 hour shift yesterday which was really busy so I am soooo glad I don't have any more of those to do. Work have allocated all my holiday for the year in a block so I stop in 5 weeks time, when I am 27 weeks. Seems incredibly early, but as the consultant says they could arrive from 28 weeks (hopefully not before) and I will be term sizefrom 27 weeks, I think it is late enough.

kazar I wish my appetite would drop slightly. I have put on almost 12kg since conception Blush and am constantly wanting to snack.

Hope everyone is well, 22 week scan tomorrow so will update with any news after

goingmadtrying · 13/05/2012 19:01

baileys that's when i finished and was the best time for me, 5 weeks will fly by :)

good luck tomorrow look forward to the update :)

Desiren · 13/05/2012 21:31

Wow I missed so much in a few shorts weeks, Hi everyone!
Well the boys are nearly a month old and growing like weeds totally enjoying it except the feeding wow that is a killer. As I haver never had babies this small before it really didn't compute about how tiny their stomachs are. We are currently on a 2/2.5 hour feeding schedule but by the time you finish it's time to start again.
Congrats to the new twin mummies it really is a blessing!
The DH goes back to work tomorrow I'm looking forward to it soberer get some sleep

baileyslover · 14/05/2012 13:19

22 week scan this morning, all babies growing well and measure couple of days bigger than my dates. Their heads are already 20cm diameter so amazed that there are 3 balls of that size in here!
Next scan in 2 weeks time when almost 24 weeks, will breathe a bit of a sigh of relief when reach that milestone
Hope everyone's bumps are behaving xx
