good luck for today bigboobs hope it goes really smoothly and your boys are here soon, please pop on and update us when you can :)

baileys its my last day at work today :) i work weekends and said goodbye to my team yesterday :( ill be really sad not to work with them for a while but will be so glad of the rest!!! only 3 more hours left them I'll be free yay!!! good luck for your scan today :)

hope things have settled for you a little dream lovely to see you :) hope everyone else is doing well at least its not raining today! Grin

chargos · 30/04/2012 09:47

Good luck scollister and bigboobs this week, that is seriously exciting your babies are really coming!! Does it feel like you've been waiting forever???
Desiren looked at your pics and the boys look amazing!! Still can't get over your quick birth wow!
I have a quick question - anyone had really bad menstrual-like cramps over a long period??? I've had them for hours this morning and am feeling really awful, not coming and going just a constant ache.....do you think this is just growing??? I had them before with my 1st and 2nd babies but not this intensity and not for this long and am so much more anxious this time around.....
x

Desiren · 30/04/2012 15:14

Hi sorry I have been on te missing list, thanks for all the compliments about the boys they are gorgeous!
Good lucks to Boobs and welcome newbies.

Boys are 11 days today still can't believe how they fitted in my stomach, finding the night times very exhausting but bare able (just)

Quick question did anyone suffer from severe swollen feet following birth, my feet have swelled so bad there worse then any stage of my pregnancy.

BB3 · 30/04/2012 15:41

I was very swollen for 6 weeks post CS because of all the drugs - legs, feet, tummy, fingers!! If you are worried, phone the mw and get checked out!

BB3 · 30/04/2012 15:42

Oh and Chargos, I did during pregnancy - it's perfectly normal. If they become regular or painful or if you are worried, get checked out. This apparently is my mantra for today!

Kazar99 · 30/04/2012 20:31

Hope to hear good news from bigboobs soon.

baileys how did your scan go? I'm feeling huge already so hate to think how you must be feeling with 3! What birth date are you aiming for? I think your official due date is about same as mine, 17 September. I'm hoping to get to end August but presume you must be aiming for a few weeks before that.

goingmad must be nice to finally be able to relax and not bother about work. I'm counting down already - 10 and a half weeks to go :)

desiren glad you are coping with practically no sleep :) hope the swelling goes down soon but get checked just in case there are any problems lurking. Better safe than sorry.

baileyslover · 30/04/2012 22:15

All good chez baileys tonight - scan today was a bit of an epic, took about an hour and had to lie on my side half way through as got really dizzy and sick lying on my back. The first time I have properly experienced that blood vessel compression thing they talk about, not fun at all. Important thing is that all healthy, no signs of major abnormalities and growing correct to the dates. Sexes confirmed as 2 girls and a boy, which will make room logistics easier as they get bigger. Feel like this scan was an important milestone. 24 weeks next one when they become viable if born early.
desiren I remember with DS1 that my ankles only became swollen after he was born I was gutted Smile. Took a couple of weeks to fully settle.
kazar due date is 19th Sept but will be lucky to get to early/mid Aug. Think I am about the same size as 7months with DS1, and everyone says I am getting bigger each time they see me, which is only good I guess as it shows babies are growing.
going enjoy you time off! I have 9 weeks and counting
bigboobs hope you are enjoying cuddles right now
scollister bet the next few days will drag, but you are so close to holding your shiney new babies
chargos sorry not experienced cramping but think I may have had a braxton hicks on Sunday at the supermarket. Every twinge is more worrying isn't it, and I thought I was anxious in my first pregnancy!

scollister · 30/04/2012 22:27

Thinking of you bigboobs and can't wait to hear about your bubbas!
Brilliant news about the scan baileys - I'll stop complaining about being massive now :)
Three more sleeps for me, yeeha! Hope DD1 adjusts to the new arrivals.
Hope you are all well and getting plenty of rest / cuddles!
xxx

baileyslover · 01/05/2012 15:18

scollister with 2 7lbers in there complain away, I am also impressed you are still able to walkGrin Roll on Thursday x

bigboobsatlast · 01/05/2012 15:44

hi everyone, just a quick post. Michael john 6lb 6 and Edward kenneth 5lb 14 born last night. Pushed 'em out with no help, although thank god for epidural. Came in to be induced but already 2cms dilated so just had waters broke.
They are both flippin gorgeous! Hope to go home tomorrow.

Hello to all you ladies!

baileyslover · 01/05/2012 17:41

Whoop whoop bigboobs fab names and great weights. Hope feeding is falling into place and you aren't too tired by the double marathon pushing Wink

Desiren · 01/05/2012 17:54

Whoop whoop Boobs well done!
Thanks for the advice re swollen feet/ankles i will get them checked out.

Oops boys crying again.

rednellie · 01/05/2012 18:13

CONGRATULATIONS bigboobs. So happy for you and that it went so well. Let us know how you get on and give kisses to Michael and Edward. xxxx

DreamingOfPeace · 01/05/2012 18:47

Oh well done you bigboobs, really good weights and fantastic on the unassisted pushing! Lovely names. Hope everyone is ok and your DD loves them too. Xxx see you on the twins post natal thread :-)

Kazar99 · 01/05/2012 19:03

Congrats bigboobs lovely names and great weights. Good timing for labour starting and fab that no intervention needed. Hope you are all doing well.

baileys glad your scan went well. I got my first comment of 'can't be long to go now' at the weekend. They looked a bit shocked when I said I wasn't quite 20 weeks yet! Hope you are keeping well despite the size of the bump :) scary to think that our babies could survive being born in just 4 weeks.

I haven't bought a single thing yet though plenty friends say they have got baby stuff I can have. Should really get organised in case they are early (and before I get too big to go shopping).

baileyslover · 01/05/2012 22:10

kazar I am really torn re getting stuff. Normally I am not the suspicious type but really worried that I get stuff then there is a problem and I don't get to bring them home Sad . Think I am going to bury my head in the sand for a bit longer then have a mad panic last minute Smile

Kazar99 · 01/05/2012 22:34

baileys I think I am a bit like that too. Didn't want to get anything before 20 week scan in case we got bad news. Still wary of getting anything soon in case we jinx something but there's always the risk they come early and we don't have anything :)

BB3 · 02/05/2012 12:36

Huge congratulations Bigboobs and welcome to the world Michael and Edward! Well done on the birth - cannot wait to hear more about them.

Scollister hope you're doing ok!

DreamingOfPeace · 02/05/2012 19:09

When it came to getting things I just researched what I wanted and bought it as I got much more pregnant as I figured if they came really early they'd be on scbu so i could order then... I was lucky though :-)

Still hanging in with the ebf. Boys are banging on the weight but it is very hard work, I'm constantly feeding.

Hoping scolister is ok, babies may even be here now :-) . I keep checking for any news!

Hello to everyone else, bumps and babies

claireinmodena · 02/05/2012 21:40

bigboobs congrattulations on the safe arrival of Edward and Michael, love their names, I would have had Edward if I'd been English for sure! Glad to hear it was a straightforward birth as well, well done! Give them a little hug from me, already missing the newborn smell and softiness, mine seem so grown up at 12 weeks!

Desiren I had awful swelling in feet and legs, I had to leave hospital in dh's boots as I none of my shoes would have fit me, and being in the middle of a snowstorm flipflops were not an option! It was actually worse after the birth, and all the hospital staff (I kept asking to all and sundry as didn't like the standard answer I was getting [hmmm], blamed it on pregnancy hormones and told me it would have taken a few weeks to go. In fact it was propably 2-3 weeks, but it was extremely uncomfortable!

baileyslover good to hear about your scan!

scollister hope you are having lots of cuddles right now!

Kazar I was a bit like dreaming researched everything and waited as long as I could to buy, as she said, even if they come early (and fngers crossed they won't), they would spent quite a bit of time in hospital so there would be time to buy stuff. I had to order a couple of things early as I am in Italy and was odering from the uk, but in the UK you have plenty of shops that deliver quickly so I wouldn't worry too much!

Also dachs I hadn't read your story, and I want to say I am really sorry for your loss, but happy you now have a little girl, congratulations!

baileyslover · 03/05/2012 12:32

Morning, had really grotty night last night, ate dinner too late and in hindsight too fatty (chick Kiev) so spent most of the night with really bad indigestion. Finally got to sleep at about 4 but I am wiped out today.
Counting down the minutes until DS nap so I can go back to bed. Think I will be investing in a truck load of rennies/gaviscon Smile

Hope babies and bumps are behaving for one and all xx

Kazar99 · 05/05/2012 09:00

Hellooooo. Is anyone out there? Quiet in here this week!

bigboobs hope you are home and the boys see settling down.

scollister hoping for some good news and hope you are getting cuddles.

baileys hope you are feeling better. I sometimes get pains which have me doubled over in agony usually followed by a trip ( or several ) to the loo. Haven't worked out exactly what is disagreeing with me. If you can narrow your indigestion down to eating rich foods late in day then at least you can avoid it. I've worked out that I am sleeping a bit better if I have some protein & carbs right before bed. Homemade banana milkshakes or milky horlicks and toast have become my usual supper. Plus I add milk powder to both as I probably don't eat enough protein.

Hope everyone else, bumps, babies and other DCs are all well. I'm choked with the cold at the moment. Tossed and turned worse than usual last night as struggling to breathe and mouth was bone dry. Any suggestions of remedies? Not being able to take decongestants is a nightmare :(

bigboobsatlast · 05/05/2012 10:26

Hi everyone, just checking in.... have been home 4 days now - the boys are 5 days old - and feels like I have had them forever! They are so lovely. DD is being a superstar with them - she is besotted - although fully aware that may not last! Today is first day just me and DH with the three children - sent parents home yesterday and as felt we needed a few days just the 5 (!) of us - although they are coming back on Tuesday! So far so good..... but DH is out with DD and feed due soon, so will see how that goes!

Sleep is another matter. They are perfect in the day - happy to go straiht down and be awake / sleep straight after feed / change etc - but in the night they will not settle EVER! Very little sleep.... but all is good, wouldn't change ANYTHING!

Will catch up with posts later hopefully - but hope all is well with everyone - bumps and babes x

baileyslover · 05/05/2012 12:59

kazar I feel for you with a cold. I had one previous week and just couldn't breathe. Tried vicks vapour rub but not sure it made much difference. I haven't been able to take night nurse for over 2 years due to combination of pregnancy and bf. I yearn for it when I have a cold Smile
scollister hope it has all gone well this week and you are having lots of cuddles.
bigboobs great that you are home so soon and getting settled in. Fingers crossed for more night sleeping!
Had a lie in until 9.30 this morning thanks to DH. Felt a bit more human so had the energy to tidy upstairs. Still haven't faced cleaning so everything is so dusty Blush

DreamingOfPeace · 06/05/2012 05:23

bigboobs how lovely they sound!! Mine are just as nocturnal at 4.5 weeks & getting no better but utterly delicious too. I still can't quite believe we're a family of 5 Grin . I hope you carry on enjoying them so much. And of course its bliss to not be pregnant (sorry all those with huge unwieldy bumps!)

kazaar, last thing you need... Olbus oil, drinking honey and lemon in hot water... Err, no great remedies I know of. Hope its already improving.
Baileys, gaviscon helped me at first with the heartburn, then gaviscon plus rennies, then i moved onto ranitidine which worked for ages! Don't suffer, no way was I giving up chicken kiev etc! I did have to eat way, way earlier than normal though anyway.

Right, back to settling my boys- 5:20am and they've been up since 3:30. Can someone explain the quick feed, burp, back to sleep situation required to them?!
