Hi No Brookers! I do hope this has worked and is in the right place...

I've added a few extra sofas so we have plenty of space for all the Rat Smackers who will be joining us soon. There's also a nice long table filled with mince pies, yule logs, gingerbread snowmen and xmas puds! Plus some non-alcoholic mulled wine. I've strategically positioned a few clean glittery vom buckets under the table, just in case it's still a bit too early for xmas munchies for some people!

As you were...

musical, I can't tell you how much I love my baby jogger city mini.... You can even have a proper pram top for when baby is little, but my toddler mum friends are all envious of the folding etc. If dd is crying and fractious in the car, I can stop, get her straight out so she's happy again, and flick the buggy out the boot and its up in one second and one movement. Plus the sun hood is fantastic, you can make it dark and flat for sleeping in the day, and its so manoeuvreable. Before I knew this pg was twins I never considered changing it, just buying the carrycot!!! (I carried dd til 9 months, only bought a pram then, dedicated baby-wearer!!). I think your Dh is right. Sure more than one buggy will suit everyone but as you won't grow out of the BJ city mini and need a lightweight stroller I don't think it could be the wrong one. Plus, when we had to travel to get dds rear facing group 1 car seat, we spotted all the BJ's in the shop and the lady said all the assistants, who use the shop prams to demo with every day, have one or other of the BJ range!!! Enough already, I think I should work for them!!!!

I'm just getting up, my Dh is being wonderful because we had an argument yesterday he's done night getting up, I stopped at 12:30, and has got up with dd again. Think she had a bit of a lie in, she had a bad night, but still. Her poor cough. Dh is muttering about finding her inhaler for tonight, hard hearing her non stop cough and wheeze.

Good luck today hawthers! I hope its a lovely experience, minih here soon!!!

pommedenoel · 28/12/2011 09:22

Dream - your poor dd! Hope her cold gets better soon. Carvol on a muslin under the bed helps dd when she's all snotty if that's any use?

I am just resigning myself to dressing like a tramp for the next 8.5 weeks in my tatty maternity clothes!! I hate it but can't bear to fork out anymore money for clothes that I'll probably never use again.

I ended up doing the leaving to cry thing at 4am this morning and it took her all of two bloody minutes to give up and go to bed!! And all this time I've been spending hours on the floor. Then I couldn't get back to sleep anyway grrrr. Fingers crossed tonight we get some sleep!

Can't wait for Hawthers update!! First brooking baby will be here today!!

Grin at pitter patter of tiny Mini-Hawthers feet! Hawthers, sending you lots of luck, love and super-Brooking for today - can't wait to hear from you!

Dream, how nice of DH to let you have a lie-in. Hope DD recovers soon.

Pomme, hope you get more sleep soon too.

On the maternity clothes front, I have one pair of jeans and lots of dresses. I find dresses much more comfy as they don't spend all day falling down. I've been tucking my maternity tights into my bra to stop them sliding down - v sexy! I've been wearing my tatty old non-mat joggers at weekends bumming around the house, but I might need some bigger ones later on.

I had such a horrible awakening this morning - turned over in bed and my pelvis clicked agonisingly. It was so sore. I spent a good five minutes freaking out about having done some permanent damage before it stopped aching so much. Sad Really hope this goes away post-birth...I'm supposed to be going to an SPD clinic, but it's in West Lothian so not close to home and I've been putting it off. I don't suppose they run them over Christmas anyway. Annoyingly, you have to attend the clinic to be referred to a physio, and you're supposed to go to the clinic between 16 and 20 weeks - what if your symptoms haven't shown up by then? Stupid system.

Hey, when does the third trimester officially begin? Is it 28 weeks? My official due date is 30 March, so I will be exactly 3 calendar months off that on Friday, at 27 weeks. I think that counts as beginning the third trimester, don't you?

musicalmrs · 28/12/2011 10:55

Dream, I didn't realise it was the Baby Jogger City Mini you have! I think I was a bit overwhelmed by the last discussion on here, and phased out a bit! I've heard you singing it's praises before, but hadn't put two and two together. I'm planning on being a baby carrier, but I think DH wants a pram from day 1 too, which is fair enough. We'll also have more expendable income for the next month or two while I'm still working full time, hence getting prepared now! The joys of being a freelancer and getting very little maternity pay...

Your high praise definitely helps sell it :-) (plus the fact that I just read your post out to DH and he started raving about it too!). Think I might have to start looking for some deals..!

Too, I thought I'd live in dresses too, but I haven't found any nice ones on sale yet (I hate buying clothes full price unless I can't avoid it!). Your poor pelvis sounds so painful.. Hope you can get to the clinic at some point. They surely can't expect all women to have symptoms between 16 and 20 weeks...

DreamingOfAWhiteChristmas · 28/12/2011 13:32

musical, 2 of my friends with toddlers (older than dd) have already asked to borrow my city mini when I'll need a double. I said no way! I plan to carry one each and still use it if out with Dh or someone who'll carry a twin, like my dad, in good weather with the 3. I so want the double, and Dh agrees once dd walking more reliably we'll get it. speaking of which, she is currently asleep tucked up in her buggy, mis-timed venture out so I'm stuck sat in car waiting for her to wake up... If you'll carry a little baby a lot, its a great stroller for toddlers- I ummed and ahed between this and a McLaren techno for my stroller but so pleased with BJCM.

Came on in case of hawthers news, but dd's woken up so hurrah, off home after my 2 second buggy into car effort Wink

hi all. also peeping in to check for news, thinking of you hawthers!

enjoying my week off, although it's all booked up with visiting and visitors till Friday now. on way out for dinner with a load of friends, hoping DS will be in a good mood! we were going to arrange some grandparents to babysit, but got asked to just bring him to see them. hope they realise he's a lot cheekier since they saw him last Christmas...Grin

touch wood, he has been really good in his big boy bed that he got on Sunday. he got out the first night and DH got him back in and told him to just shout when he wanted out. miraculously this has worked and we just get a wee voice on the monitor in the morning. Shock he does take a while to settle playing about and we had to rearrange him and tuck him in on Monday night as he fell asleep upside down.how long will this last?!

got a few maternity clothes for Christmas so feeling a bit less tramp like.

on phone will catch up more later. :)

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 28/12/2011 17:18

Hello everyone! I am glad you all had very Merry Christmases!
I am dressed in H&M maternity clothes most if the time, cheap and comfy.

On tenterhooks here for our first no brooking baby! Go MiniHawthers its your birthday! Go MiniHawthers its your birthday!

Scream I am glad I wasn't the first person to need a post deleted due to typing a name! I get so close to doing it all of the time!

Dream your Dad is a Dr to? What a medical family! My dsis is wanting to be a doctor atm, so I have told her to work hard in Biology and Chemistry, which she is.

I am another that if anyone who knew me read this, it would be so obvious it is me.

Too your MW dept. should have tubi grips you can wear to help support your bump? I got mine from there and they do help. They also do a great job of holding your tights up. Xmas Wink

Now pushchairs, I am a bit of a bugaholic and have a mono Donk stashed now, I haven't seen it yet but bought it as a bargain in shop near my dad so he is bringing it when he next visits. I will be getting the extension set to make it a double.
At home I have a Cameleon, (which hopefully I have sold) a Bee + which I couldn't part with as it is so easy! And a Mountain buggy which again I am hoping to sell. Blush
