HUGE congrats to all the new babies arriving. How exciting.
Good to hear from you Chip and I hope you are all bearing up as best you can.
mama it is very different 'oop north'! I'm not sure they would know what earl grey tea was round here! :)
Well, I am 38 weeks today and still working! Working from home though and last day tomorrow. So today i dropped DD off at nursery and sat on the sofa for a little bit...and then woke up at 11am!
. Am now working hard and not mumsnetting in any way...
I am feeling good good good.
Had my IM around yesterday and she could not be more lovely. She is SO on my wavelength and i am so pleased that kellykettle pointed me in the direction of her IM (who did not work out for me) as then I would not have found this one!
She actually trained under the legendary Sheila Kitzinger (famous UK midwife) and has done lots of HBAC, HB of twins and HB of breech babies.
She reckons baby is perfectly normal size, head down and firmly engaged (at least 2/5ths). I have my HB pack in the dining room, post birth drugs just in case are in my fridge and DP has partially blown up the pool.
My blood pressure is up and down due to my stupid subconcious (basically it shows bob on normal when I take it on my own but even with the IM is goes up) but she has been fab and as I'm showing no other signs, she records my own morning reading in my notes. Urine is lovely and clear and I am feeling very positive.
I know that if this were my first pregnancy they would have got me in for monitoring by now as my bp would be deemed erratic. With DD I had a little bit of ankle swelling but no headaches, no protein or anything, yet because my bp was up when a doctor took it, they started me on the road to intervention.
And around the end of August, the NHS was convinced I had gest diabetes - my IM is just as convinced I do not!
Now I just need to finish work and watch lots of HUTH and go to the cinema in the afternoon. Ah bliss.
