Oh, funny. I often call my DH an idiot. My friend managed to keep the sex of her second baby a secret, though we did guess from things she said. But her DH knew too - not just her. If you were having a boy, it would be easier because you can keep the boys' clothes packed away, but you're going to have to buy some girly clothes! There's so much more choice for girls. My DD definitely has the best wardrobe!
We've got some very exciting news which I can't tell people in RL because it's a taboo subject and I haven't got my head around it myself yet, although people are going to guess sooner or later...
The story is that my DH's grandad sadly died in April of pneumonia. He lived like a pov - his house was bare, not even decorated, he insisted on eating Tesco Value shepherds pie frozen ready meals every day for tea (we got him to pay for meals on wheels for about a month, but then he cancelled them), he wore the same pair of trousers every day tying the broken flies up with string (even though he was incontinent and we bought him new trousers)... anyway, my point is that he was extremely tight and we assumed he had no money. He had fallen out with his daughter (DH's mum) to the point that she'd had enough of him and moved to Spain. We were left to care for him - as best we could living over an hour away and having 2 small children. It was very stressful. My DH was very close to him.
Anyway, fast forward 6 months and it turns out that he had £900k in savings!!!! And that we're to inherit half!!! My DH is a mixture of angry that his grandad wouldn't spend anything on looking after himself, and overwhelmed about what to do with all this money - we both are. So, we've got A LOT on our plate all of a sudden - in a good way, of course. In a wonderful way in fact. We're talking about moving, investing and all sorts. I can't really get my head around it, tbh!
