Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Hi all, sorry to hear about the irritation of BHs; me too, esp in the evening.

We are back home having had all our building work done but the house is still in fairly major disarray. I have just sat down after spending a couple of hours moving things back to their rightful places whereas DH is just in a moody because he hasn't yet got space to set up his sodding XBox Hmm I am more interested in the fact that the baby has nowhere to sleep at the moment.

Tomorrow's job is to get the birth pool out and check it over as I will be 37 weeks and therefore full term and able to have my HB

I just cannot believe that by this point in my last pregnancy, I had had DS and was back home. I'm so glad to have made it this far!

Re scan pics, our hospital is about £4 for four pics I think but if you get the extra nice sonographer then she will give you more or not charge you.

CBear6 · 15/08/2011 09:52

Glad you're back home Feral, I hope you get things ship-shape soon!

Misty9 · 15/08/2011 11:03

Woohoo - 37wks and term today :)

And I'm about ready for him to come out now Grin Resorted to sleeping on the sofa last night and wasn't too bad - although a bit lonely. Task for the day is to start the labour bag and buy material to make a baby blanket. Also need to check the birth pool bits and pieces and do a test run - but DH said we can wait til the weekend for that...maybe that'll make poppyseed appear sooner if we're not ready?!

Gonna start the washing of the baby clothes today - and figure out what I need to do to the cloth nappies re: prewashing :) Picked up the pram yesterday from M&Ps - was sooo bizarre seeing DH wheeling a pram home (albeit an empty one!). Ready now! But also aware it could be another 4-5wks..... :(

100years · 15/08/2011 11:13

candr, hope you do enjoy your holiday when you go, will be a nice chance to relax and spend some quality time before LO arrives.

Jimmi, I was having a blonde moment when I read your post about having a picasso and thinking I don't remember seeing any buggies of that make, till I realised!!! D'oh.

I'll be heading to John Lewis if I start with mine Wink actually, no, I can't do that, it's further from the hospital and they may end up taking me to the wrong hospital because of where I am, hmm, must make a decision Wink

Congrats on reaching 37 weeks feral :)

Got a bit of a headache this morning, am keeping an eye on it in case it gets worse, but I think I'm just going to end up keeping getting them unfortunately. OH is off work sick today, yesterday he wasn't feeling well, temperature and ended up with (ahem) bottom trouble and has stomach ache, he feels a lot better, but not 100%, hoping I don't get whatever it was, but it would clear me out! Told him even if he felt well he shouldn't physically go into work in case it's a bug and he spreads it, he can work from home, but he's not feeling up to it.

Re the cot situation, we ordered the new cot to be delivered tomorrow (from boots) had a very apologetic email last Thursday saying they couldn't guarantee delivery tomorrow but it would be here by tomorrow, so we took it from that that it is due to get here either today or tomorrow. Currently it is saying it's in transit from the delivery depot (as opposed to their warehouse), so keep your fingers crossed as to it arriving soon.

Misty, sorry x post, congrats to you on also reaching 37 weeks :)

I have just reached the point where even if LO is late I only have a month to go, as it's a month today (31 days) until I'm 2 weeks overdue! Woohoo, no more than a month, much as I'm not fed up, I'd kind of really really like it if she didn't wait that long.

Sumi76 · 15/08/2011 11:33

Misty congrats on 37 weeks - thats quite a milestone :)

Hope the headache gets better 100years.

tiddleypompom · 15/08/2011 11:57

I was told at dinner on Sat with friends that you are given a £1k voucher if your waters break in M&S! Ha ha - am guessing this might have happened once but can't imagine why they'd want to encourage it

100years · 15/08/2011 12:05

Tiddley, if I tell my OH that I've been having pains and tight feelings etc, he just says, that's great, it's all good practise!!! He seems totally unphased by the thought of me having any sort of aches or pains.

Ooooh M&S, maybe a sweep at the midwife, a good bounce on the birthing ball, sex and a curry then a trip to M&S.

Hope you enjoy your short break away :)

Thanks Sumi :)

What do BH feel like? Does all of your tummy go hard or just some of it? Ive been getting the "just some of it" going hard and today am getting really obsure pain and movement in my right hand side, but almost near my hip!! Whats that all about? :)

100years - I think you will be the first, you sound quite close to me.

The house is very nearly done, got someone here laying a new hall floor (very blardy slowly) and then we are done! Nursery is ready and furniture built, clothes in wardrobe, everything in drawers, just waiting for baby now - eep!

Got last scan tomorrow, hope hes still engaged, he was 3/5 when mw came 2 weeks ago, god its all real isnt it?

ssmile · 15/08/2011 13:42

Arh we must be getting close as posts on a Monday we all on mat leave now ;)
just got back from park tired with a tantrumiee 4yr old. She didn't sleep well last night which meant I didn't either :( but she made me giggle this morn walking into the bedroom whilst I was having a sneaky lie down, mummy my baby is coming in 2yrs but I have to hold it as its feet keep falling out :o she had a dolly stuffed up her dress then put it in the mosses basket &sang it lullaby before shutting my door &saying night mummy! Arrrhhh getting her trained already!

100years · 15/08/2011 16:32

MrsS, apologies that I've not written it differently than before, just copied and pasted as it's on a different page but re BH this is what I wrote before.... I tried to explain to my OH what a BH felt like, the only thing I could explain it as was like when you do sit ups and you clench your stomach to where it feels tight and if you hold that position, only you aren't doing a sit up, your body is just doing it of it's own accord. Sometimes for me I'm just aware of the BH other times it's uncomfy. Well the BH have since ceased, obviously my uterus is very very clever and managed to read what I had written and took note. I'm still getting them, but not like I was.

Ssmile, that's so cute about your daughter :) not the sleepless night but the dolly up her dress. When I saw my nieces a week ago they were dead cute about LO.

sebs71 · 15/08/2011 17:00

100years - that's weird. In the last couple of weeks my BH have calmed down ... makes getting comfy at night a little easier. Still getting them, but nowhere as bad as they have been.

MrsS - I'd go with 100years on what they're like. Sometimes my whole tummy feels rock hard, but sometimes only the top or bottom half. I also get some movement that almost feels like it's by my hip - when I had a scan the other week they said her hand was there so I'm guessing it's a punch!!
LO is having loads of hiccups - they're quite cute, except when I'm trying to get to sleep!!

To everyone having a break / holiday - hope you all have a great time and relax!

I'm also full term today!! It's a good feeling ...

Just phoned to get my iron count - and it's finally risen! Seeing midwife tomorrow so I'll see if it's ok to keep taking the tablets and not have to go for the infusion... Got a double appointment tomorrow to go through birth plan. It's all getting so close...

I can just see us all now heading to M&S... wonder if I can pop a little water balloon whilst I'm in there???? Or is that just wrong??

sebs71 · 15/08/2011 17:00

Oops... meant to say in the last couple of DAYS the BH have calmed down... (if only it was weeks...)!

tiddleypompom · 15/08/2011 17:11

Have also considered the water balloon Sebs Wink

Just returned from midwife check (34 wks) - love to hear the heartbeat swooshing away, but also heard hiccuping! I THINK I may have had a BH on the way the the surgery as I had to stop walking for a moment whilst what felt like stitch calmed down. Only a few seconds but it stopped me in my tracks - oh God, am I a wuss??

MrsS - you've started the sweepstake (oh heavens, excuse the pun!!!). I am definitely happy to stand back and watch as the babies start to arrive - looking forward to hearing birth stories and announcements - as long as I am not still here in October...

loomer · 15/08/2011 21:06

'scuse my ignorance but what does it mean to be "full term"?
Is this just 37 weeks or something more obscure? I've never heard of it before and I'm wondering when I can claim it myself.

100years · 15/08/2011 21:14

Glad your iron has risen sebs :)

Not a wuss tiddley, wow to hearing hiccups, what was that like?

Yes loomer full term is 37 weeks, they officially class you as full term at 37 weeks.

OH feeling much better now :) woohoo.

OP posts:
ssmile · 15/08/2011 21:21

I think its 37wks, but my consultant said they prefer to do elective c-sec at 39wks to be on safe side if no other probs.
Saw my MW prob for the last time as 37+3d today and booked in c-sec at 38+6d as that's a Friday and the don't book in on sat. Keeping having those mad dreams again where going into labour early and its not the sex they told us as they got it wrong :) had this last time and alas it wasn't to be she was 15d late! I think I'd prefer vbac birth to elec but don't think I will get there in next 2wks but was 1/5 engaged head down today so going in right direction. But don't think I've had any BH and didn't get them last time either. So if you are getting its a gd sign your body is getting ready......??

100years · 16/08/2011 05:15

ssmile, Shock baby next week then for you Grin Yeah I'm hoping the BH are all good practise and that LO will be here soon, time still for me is flying by, I've always heard people say that the last month drags and stuff like 'it's the longest month of your life/pregnancy' etc etc, I'm not sure about that yet. Maybe LO is really happy in there and I've got to get really really fed up before she comes out.

Is time dragging for anyone?

OP posts:
ssmile · 16/08/2011 07:04

Yep time dragging big time ere. Mainly because I've gonefrom swimming &being active to just SO immobile in the last wk as baby started to drop its got uncomfortable to just move or sit or sleep so will be v ready now when baby does POP out.... :)

100years · 16/08/2011 08:36

Aaaw, hope you manage OK for the next week and a bit, not long for you :) I've had a bit of a change where I was feeling really uncomfy and horrible and encumbered to feeling a lot better and more able, although after a short while that goes and I end up knackered, but don't feel massive now, maybe I'm just used to it - which usually means a growth spurt in the next few days followed by me going bleurgh for a day or three!!!

OP posts:
CBear6 · 16/08/2011 09:35

Tiddley, if you really want to give your DH a fright then gently wake him up at 3am and whisper "sweetheart, the baby ... ", I don't think I've ever seen my DH move so fast. My full sentence was going to be "sweetheart, the baby has her foot/knee in my ribs, will you rub it?" (he's the only one who can get her to move it) but he only heard the first three words.

100years, time is flying for me too. We're more or less ready but I keep getting random worries about not being ready, I had to rush out and buy more bibs yesterday because I was convinced we don't have enough. All in all though it's going by quickly.

ssmile, I'm slowing down massively as well. I went to the shops yesterday and could barely make it around the shopping centre. I think I'm giving Beamish a skip on Thursday because it's all walking and standing and hills, etc. I'd probably keel over. Looks like you may have the first baby then if you've only got a week left, how exciting! The babies are all coming soon!

jimmijam · 16/08/2011 10:24

After a dance around on the xbox 2 nights ago babys dropped. After wanting it 2 happen am now in so much pain, had 4gotten how little my old cs scar likes the pressure ;-( barely slept last night was so uncomfy. Come on babs ur full time and we cant wait 2 meet u!! Tho dd was 8days over and ds 1 day early so wishing 4 2 1/2 weeks early is v.wishful thinking. Any1 else here having pain with an old scar (part of myn was reopened last november) and how do u cope with it?

tiddleypompom · 16/08/2011 11:56

Oh poor you Jimmi - I can't give any helpful advice as I am a FTM, hopefully someone else can help?

Wishing those term babies come soon!

CBear - I have a funny feeling being woken in the night in such a way would simply cause a 'really darling, that's nice' (rolls over)... Probably I should invest in a loudspeaker...

Right - am off for a few days. Got to drive for about 1.5 hours, which I don't much enjoy anymore but have dressed for it (leggings and comfy clothes) as last time I wore maternity jeans and had to undo the button and fly on the way as they were digging into me. Forgot and almost lost jeans at the petrol pump - nice.

Happy incubating! :o

lxr1 · 16/08/2011 12:21

Hi ladies,

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, but all is pretty much progessing well.

No Braxton Hicks here (that I'm aware of), but my pelvis has become really painful recently - which has resulted in the use of crutches on bad days. But on seeing my MW at the weekend, baby is 3/5 engaged now, so that could be one reason.

We're still on track for a home birth, and I'm going to a waterbirth workshop this evening to make up my mind on whether to invest in a birth pool in a box or not...

We completed our NCT ante-natal classes at the weekend, found it really useful, just hope I can remember everything when it comes down to it!

I've got just under 2 weeks left of work now, but when I went into the office on Friday they told me to stay at home for my remaining days 'we don't want you giving birth here...' is what I was told! Received some baby goodies from them too, which was a lovely suprise.

I see it's not just me suffering from sleep deprivation...I'm always awake at 4am, then 5.30am, and last night I was awake from 2.45am through til 4.15am....the pelvic and sciatic pain doesn't make it easy getting back to sleep. I will be needing my power nap after lunch today methinks!

100years · 16/08/2011 14:40

CBear, I don't think I'll try the middle of the night 'darling....' But it would be much fun! To be honest I've not really got bibs, planning on using muslin etc for mopping up dribble, if I need some when LO is here then we will go and get some.

Jimmi, hope you find some relief from the C-sec scar pain.

Tiddley, I've got jeans with big stretchy stuff that goes over bump, I never really wear them as I'm just not that comfy in them even though they are slightly too big for me. Have a good time.

Hello lxr, that's nice re the working from home, at least they aren't trying to make you start your maternity early or anything. Oh yeah, awake a few times in the night for the loo and more often than not lying awake for an hour or so at either 4 or 5 am afterwards.

Well midwife been.
Birth plan all sorted, it's written in my hand held notes, but I might make a copy to take with me just in case. :)
BP was good, urine clear :)
LO is more engaged than last week, this would explain the weird feeling I'm getting down below, last night I had the oddest sensation while sat on the settee from inside me, seems as though she has turned from lying on the left to lying on the right now, which would probably explain the weirdness, she frequently goes from one side to the other, but it was more pronounced. Am about 3/5 engaged (2/5 palpable) so the BH are hopefully doing their job and getting her properly in position and keeping her there.

The cot is here now, and is set up, aaah it looks all cute in the bedroom, bought a bedside cot so we can co-sleep without her being in the bed with us. Also got moses basket for the front room for the day time :)

So now it's chill time :) OH is better, and managed to take today off as annual leave so we had a chill together this morning, he pottered around while midwife was here and came in and heard the heartbeat etc.

Feeling really relaxed and happy about everything, in fact I'm definitely feeling better than I have in a while. :)
