scones i think our mums must be cut from the same cloth! i was having chippy about 3 times a week. cut that down to once and sharing a bag with dd- they do give the most enormous portions and dd doesnt have half, so not too much of a cut down. chocolate is my downfall. i still eat it but only about a third as much as i did. although i did eat a packet of galaxy bites and a packet of minstrels last night! i cant be good alllll the time. Wink
bb3 jacob - twin 1 stayed head down and didnt move from the 20 week scan. isobel moved until almost birth.
16lbs! crikey i want a vbac, going off the idea daily.

Im from Glasgow [waves] although living in Airdrie now :-(

SchrodingersMew · 19/07/2011 20:42

Hi. :) Airdrie is still pretty close! I used to go to college in Coatbridge.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/07/2011 08:38

Where in Glasgow u from?

CrazyAlien06 · 20/07/2011 10:17

hi ladies, just discovered this thread, is it ok to join? Smile I am due 2nd October.
Have got all the bare necessities now , well apart from nursery furniture but that will be ordered soon. Baby has moses basket , clothes, nappies and so will be fine if he or she arrived earlier than expected!

This is my first baby and myself and DH have no experience of babies lol its going to be such a fun learning curve!
I am sorting out our spare room (soon to be nursery) which is taking soooo long as I am a teacher and have sooo much junk lol. Been good to just chuck it though- luckily I finished last week as was only on a 2 term contract so got a lovely long break before baby,

I shall read back and familiarise myself with all your progress :)

BB3 · 20/07/2011 17:08

Hi Crazy, welcome!

How are you feeling? Do you know what you are having? So exciting! You are much further ahead than me! I have a pram and very few left over bits from DS1 that I can use (changing map, nappies etc) but the rest I need to buy - these poor babies only have 3 vests each (they were in the sale in Tesco)!

How is everyone going with names?

BBx

sassy34264 · 20/07/2011 18:00

umph! my dp keeps vetoeing every name i come up with. boys names that is, i cant think of any girls names i like except annabel and i cant have that cos i already have an isobel- too twee.
i love love love nathaniel. im working on him about it. need to look at the name thread for a girls name.
do you know the sex of yours bb3? (both mine had different heartbeats. )

sassy34264 · 20/07/2011 18:04

sorry, forgot to say hello to you crazy
hello!

this is my fourth, so not quite the same unaware excitment/anticipation......... i know what's coming! Wink Grin

CheshireDing · 20/07/2011 18:05

Hello Crazy, you sound very organised :)

I think you can only join though if you have been stuffing your face and your boobs are enormous!

DH and I are having our first on 12th October and have no experience of small people either.

BB3 we have a short list of names but gutted that DH will not let me use River or Barney (I don't know whether we are having boy or girl though anyway).

Off to Hypnobirthing now so will check in with everyone later.

CheshireDing · 20/07/2011 18:10

Oooh forgot to say we have just bought a little all-in-1 outfit off ebay. You can have whatever wording put on it and they are only £5. It's just plain white with the bee and Baby CheshireDing written on it but it's cute and a bit fun for a couple of pounds.

Here is the link if anyone is interested:-

whackamole · 20/07/2011 19:24

Hello can I join in? Grin

I'm due my third 22nd October, but I had twins last time and was induced so I'm really scared of having this one 'au naturel'!! Everyone at work keeps comparing me to a girl on my team - we are the same size but she is due in 6 weeks and I'm due in what, 14 weeks now? I have a great big round tum but that's ok.

Having another boy too, so that will be 4 boys in the house (including OH) plus one at weekend when DSS is here! Eeek!

SchrodingersMew · 20/07/2011 20:05

Edward I'm from Springburn but will be moving to the other side of the city soon. :)

superjobee · 20/07/2011 20:37

wow everyones been soo busy glad to see the baby shopping is ongoing Grin and welcome newbies!

currently we've been enjoying the holidays, mainly by watching disney channel and cinemagic Blush also bought more nappies and wipes and bibs i just cant stop buying .. :)

trying v.hard to stop the sugar rage running thru me but all i seem to have done is add in to replace that with rocky road cake fetish .. Hmm

talking of baby names we had names chosen for a boy by 13/14 wks and a girl at 18/19 wks and even then it wasnt solid yes, thank god he's a boy! everybody already refers to him as his name its lovely to hear.

hope everyone keeps well this week x

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/07/2011 21:24

I'm from barlanark so not that far, :-) just let me know if u fancy a wee meet up when mat leave starts

I'm getting there now with nursery, have just listed the last of my junk on eBay I've bought the Moses basket, cot, bedding and a lovely canopy and curtains and a few really cute dresses and snowsuit, already have pretty much everything else from DS
Although I really need to get buggy board for him the one I like is really expensive so been trying to get it on eBay no success yet though :-(

SchrodingersMew · 20/07/2011 21:30

That would be good. :)

I can't work just now anyway due to problems with my hips, I haven't been able to since I was about 3 months, I am getting oh so very bored now. :(

What day are you due?

Excuse me if this is a silly question, but what is a buggy board? Blush

We have basically everything in already now, I started buying really early. I need to get some more pretty nursery items though. :)

I take it you're having a girl then?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 20/07/2011 22:12

I have my name picked too, she'll be called mhairi possible middle name Jane but not sure on that yet

SchrodingersMew · 20/07/2011 22:15

I know of 2 girls called Mhairi. It's a lovely spelling.

BB3 · 21/07/2011 08:27

Welcome whackamole how you feeling? Wow 4 boys i'm impressed. I have a little boy already and if these two are both boys I'll have my hands full!!!!

How was your birth with the twins? Sorry it's my new obsessive subject! How old are the twins? How you feeling? I'm betting I'm bigger than you!!

sassy from the very beginning I thought it was one of each as the heartbeats were so different but then at my scan 3weeks ago mum was convinced it was two girls and then at Tuesday's scan I'm 90% sure I saw a willy when twin 2 stretched it's legs so I'm back to one of each which is my ideal! Heartbeats also still different but not as dramatically.

If we have a girl it will be named after my grandmothers, one of whom is where I get the twin gene from as she was a twin and according to my dates (not hospitals) they are due on her birthday so it will be Edith-May. Eda or ede for short (ede is my preference but DH is Turkish and wants his kids to have Turkish names and eda is). We have a zillion other girls names I love - alara, elfi, all sorts so not worried there. But BOYS are a whole different matter. We argued constantly over DS' name. DH got his way but only because ds suited the name so bloody much! (even then we didnt name him for two weeks as i refused to give in to him!). He wants traditional Turkish names that I hate and I like cute names like arlo which he will not even contemplate because they are not Turkish! I keep pointing out Edith may isn't and he says it's differed because it's sentimental to me! Nathanial is lovely! If it's two boys we are screwed!!!!

supergreenuk · 21/07/2011 08:43

26.5 weeks here with dc2. Thinking about getting my bits ready to eventually pack my bags. I have tena lady on my shopping list and we have bought a double buggy which we are using now for dd. It's a baby weaver lynx tandem and we are really pleased with it.

We are having a ds and we have chosen a name. Boys names are way more difficult to decide on.

Experiencing dizzy spells and my iron is being checked. Still feel that horrible sicky/too full feeling/dry horrible mouth feeling and feel hungry but full.

Have booked a bump photo session fir next month.

To reply to other poster. A buggy board is a platform that can be attached to buggy for sibling to stand on.

supergreenuk · 21/07/2011 08:47

Btw. Anyone in Kettering?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/07/2011 13:11

Yep I'm having a girl, I'm due 17th oct but finish work 23rd sept and counting the days :-)

apples82 · 21/07/2011 13:59

edward that's my due date too, although I don't know which sex my little bundle will be Grin

emmazed · 21/07/2011 15:59

we had a name for our LO, but we realised that annoyingly the initials almost spelt out something bad, and that is a pretty basic no no. we can't change the middle name (names after my DH Grandpa who died just recently) so we need to come up with a new first name. grrrrr

on a more exciting note, i have been looking into natal hypnotherapy and this we will give it a try. just ordered the CDs and looking into attending a course. anyone got any experience of it?

cupofteaplease · 21/07/2011 18:11

Edward, I am also finishing work on 23rd September, should be having my section in the first week of October as I'm due on 14th- can't wait! However, I am a teacher and so have 6 weeks coming up- just one more day to go!

Getting a bit down about not having got anything ready for the baby, but dh is working too much to even talk about the baby, never mind sort anything out and I don't have any spare money to buy anything. Fed up.

greenuk I am in Sounth Northants, not a million miles from Kettering Smile

TallyBear · 21/07/2011 18:58

Hi all and welcome to the newbies too. Been catching up as not been on for a while.

I'm also finishing work on 23 Sept but not due until 23 Oct. Hoping he's an early bird or I might go mad, but everyone tells me to enjoy 'the calm before the storm'. Either way just can't wait for ML to start - work v.v. busy.

sassy I love Nathaniel too. Although I can't decide if I love or hate Nate, as I'm sure it would be shortened to. DH really doesn't like Nathan, but you can't help what it's shortened to. I like that Nathaniel is not that common but also not way out there! I also love Sebastian. I agree with the others that have said that boys names are harder. I'm glad we have a few months to think!

Had a bit of a panic on Tuesday and ended up in the birthing centre hooked up to a fancy machine to check the heartbeat. Having had quite a little rumager and kicker he had really slowed down over the previous few days and I hardly ever felt him. Being a 1st time mum I had a panic (the more I became aware of it the less I felt and the more I panicked). Phoned the mw and instead of telling me to pull myself together she very kindly told me to come in. All was OK and we got to hear the heart for about 30 mins or so. Little sod started moving around loads as soon as he was hooked up. Not even born and he's causing trouble! Felt really guilty but mw's were lovely about it. Having been there so long we then had to go to the chippy for dinner! Damn!
