Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

jasmine You are fine! You've just been sick.

Providing bump is still shuffling around and there's nothing...erm...unusual happening in the underwear department then there's nothing to worry about.

When I had DD1 I had a D&V bug which sent me into labour 6 weeks early...trust me, you'll know if that happens!

Go and have a lie down. If anything changes then do ring your GP or midwife, but I'm sure you'll be feeling fine by lunchtime. Smile

sasamaxx · 07/04/2011 09:43

Jasmine - how horrible Sad
Only you know how bad you're feeling, but it does sound a bit like a stomach bug - and there are loads of them going around just now. I had a stomach bug about a month ago and the advice was just to be extra careful to avoid dehydration so I got some of those lucozade sports with the electrolytes and sipped away for about a day before introducing a light diet the next day. I have no idea if the baby bouncing around indicates anything, but obviously you should watch out for contractions as your stomach contracting (for sickness) could theoretically trigger off womb contractions. I think it's pretty unlikely though Smile.
Why not give your midwife a call for reassurance?

Cool website Kara - off to check it out Grin

sasamaxx · 07/04/2011 09:45

x-posted there sorry Smile
Great, calming advice from almighty there

NoToast · 07/04/2011 09:51

Jasmine you're not dying and a little bit of sick is nothing to worry about. I've just started feeling really sick at night so wondering if it is a baby-organ-crush thing? But, I think if I'd posted your message, you'd tell me to ring the midwife/GP on the non-emergency number to check in with her, so that's going to be my advice to you.

Am sorry you'e feeling rotten and hope you feel better soon and that you can both have a relaxing day off.

Jer79 I had a low lying posterior placenta at 20 weeks but it's now scooted out of the way (at 29 week scan). What's happening with yours?

jasmine51 · 07/04/2011 09:54

Thanks all, will go and watch trash TV and see if anything else happens. My temp is normal, my BP is a bit all over the place but not high enough to ring alarm bells and my pulse seems highish for me but ok...see what happens when DH leaves all his medical equipment all over the house! I havent quite got to the stage of setting up an oxygen supply or breaking out the gas n air..but I know where it is!
Almighty I am assuming anything 'unusual in the underwear department' doesnt include peeing myself when I vommed, lol...sorry tmi....clenching just didnt work...ladies...get clenching!
Sods law isnt it - you just start relaxing and thinking 'ok I think I've settled into this pg lark' and yet another thing happens to terrify you.

AlmightyCitrus · 07/04/2011 10:00

Well, for me unusual in the underwear dept, meant me going for a wee, coming back into the living room, sitting down and (oh god...tmi alert) wetting myself again...but obviously it wasn't wee! I was sat on a towel with another towel wrapped round me when we had a rare and unwelcome visit from FIL who wouldn't go away.

Ah well...I can laugh about it now!

CMH1stbaby · 07/04/2011 11:16

sounds horrible jasmine, hope a good dose of Jeremy Kyle and homes under the hammer helps...

have to tell you all about these amazing cropped mat leggings I've got - seriously the only thing I have put on and felt comfy in for about six months!! Got them from pumpkin patch at the weekend (£10) and unlike other mat leggings I've had from new look and h&m they are really soft, no nasty seams and very stretchy (oh the glamour of it all..) I'm feeling so enthusiastic about them I had to share!! Grin

have good day all - hope you get a chance to enjoy some of the sunshine Smile

Joannezipan · 07/04/2011 13:36

Hello Everyone,

jasmine sorry you are feeling rubbish, I hope you feel a bit better now.
CMH1stbaby those leggings sound brilliant. I might have a look! I hate my new look ones and I only got them a couple of weeks ago and they are already bobbly!
I'm having another tired day today - some complete muppets stood outside my bedroom window shouting at each other for the best part of an hout at 3:30am this morning. I was not amused. It took me ages to get back to sleep so i'm suffering today. I suppose that's what you get for living in a city though. Appart from that i'm sleeping better though, touch wood my body has got used to sleeping on it's side. I'm excited about the growth scan tomorrow, And also hoping they will move my due date a bit closer. I'm keen to meet the baby now and tbh i don't think i like being pregnant very much!
Today also seems to be a hungry day...musli, muller rice, banana and pear for breakfast and then a pasta salad for lunch and I think we will have sausages for tea tonight. I think the baby is making up for lost time!
Work could be a trial this afternoon - wish me luck it is mothly financial reporting day - booooo!

Hope you are all having a good day

NurseSunshine · 07/04/2011 13:44

How are you feeling now Jasmine? I would only start to worry if your temp gets above 38.5 or you're throwing up so much you can't keep anything down, even sips of water. Other than that, just look after yourself, drink clear fuids or isotonic sports drinks and if you feel a bit better try some dry toast or something like that. Obviously if you're worried though do call your midwife.
Your BP is probably all over the place because you're worrying :) Though if it is very low (try on the other arm if you get a super low reading just to make sure) it could mean you're dehydrated.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 07/04/2011 14:54

Haven't been on because MN hasn't been letting me Angry so not managed to read every post, but just wanted to say I did see the info about goats formula. Thank you. It's reassuring to know I have that option if I need/want it.

In other news, orange aero bars are yuk (all aero bars actually) and I'm off for a nap. Will catch up later (if MN lets me back in).

sasamaxx · 07/04/2011 15:45

Nestle chocolate is all yuk
(don't think it used to be - used to love aeros)

Milliemuffin · 07/04/2011 15:58

Hi ladies - is anyone else starting to stress about names? I know there's still a while yet but we have exhaused every book, website, imdb looking at cast listings! Absolutely nothing we feel goes with either DC's names.

I'm seeing my midwife on monday to officially put me down for a home birth, I'm hoping for third time lucky but I don't mind if I end up in hospital again. I needed stitches with both DC and I'm not sure I trust my community midwife as she's a bit scatty to say the least!! Having said that she was on stress leave when I had DS and on holiday when I had DD so she wasn't around for either of their births!

And - clench! xx

jasmine51 · 07/04/2011 17:58

Nurse thanks Im feeling a bit better. Still groggy and just a bit 'off' but not sick as such. Had a massage this afternoon which wasnt as great as I hoped it would be but it did settle bump down and chilled me out a bit.
Who suggested Jeremy Kyle as good recovery TV? Jeepers, never watched it before...I didnt know people like that existed outside US trailer parks!

Lack of chocolate and crisps...thats why I feel ill.

Millie I'm stressing about names but for different reasons. DH has had the names sorted out for years and I'm now thinking...what if DS doesnt look like an X? What if I cant get used to called him that? What if he comes out and I get a really strong urge to call him Y. Weirdly we have always been able to agree on girls names without any discussion or argument, its just the boys names.

CMH1stbaby · 07/04/2011 18:11

ha ha thats why Jeremy Kyle is so great.. it makes you feel very reasonable and well adjusted, which can be hard when your pg!!

lady at Sainsburys checkout today asked me when I'm due but then said 'but you're already massive?!' - managed to resist the urge to shove a carrot up her nose...

Just painted my toe nails and took a gargantun effort - must lie down now and recover..

NurseSunshine · 07/04/2011 18:22

Glad you;re feeling better Jasmine

Grr how rude CMH! I wonder how she'd have reacted if you made a comment about her appearance?! Kudos for painting your toe nails. I can barely put my shoes on!

What baby book is in supersunny? Have been on the look out for a really special on but haven't fallen in love with one yet.

Why on earth do people feel the need to comment on size?!

At my antenatal class there's a girl who has the littlest neatest bump in the world, she looks like a model who's stuffed a canteloupe up her t shirt! I was like Envy but thought, well she's probably not as pregnant as I am anyway, then she said her EDD: 16th June! She is EXACTLY as pregnant as me! Sigh

NurseSunshine · 07/04/2011 21:27

OH! Have to boast a little here, sorry, I have just finished and submitted my final assignment! WAAAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!

sasamaxx · 07/04/2011 21:37

Whoo hooooooo Nurse that's fantastic - bet you feel brilliant Grin

NurseSunshine · 07/04/2011 21:42

SUCH a weight off my mind! And it means tomorrow I am free to enjoy the sunshine! Get me and my baby some lovely vitamin D Grin

crazychic141187 · 07/04/2011 21:52

O nurse I'm jealous! I wish I'd just finished my last assignment I've still got 6 to do before the beginning of May!

AlmightyCitrus · 07/04/2011 22:46

Glad you're feeling better jasmine Smile

Millie Girls names we've got. The probably definite first and second names, but I could reel off a list of alternatives at the drop of a hat.
Boys names? Nope. Nothing. Not a one. I just don't like any (other than the name DS already has). DH has made a couple of suggestions but they just don't do anything for me. Oh well, there's ages to go before we have to decide....isn't there?

DaisyFields · 07/04/2011 23:01

Someone just drove into the back of my car at a red light and didn't even say sorry! Now my head feels like it's on backwards and I've been kicked in the fanjo :(

Nice one nurse, 2 more and an exam for me but we're on the home straight.

Night everyone.

DaisyFields · 07/04/2011 23:03

I feel like I've been kicked in the fanjo... There wasn't a post-collision booting!

Merlion · 08/04/2011 04:48

Daisy hope you are ok?

Nurse well done on assignments.

Barbie did you go ahead and book a private scan?

Jasmine I really didn't want my Mum to be there - she wanted to fly here to be here when I have dd but DH and I both said we wanted to be on our own and also for a bit after she's born to get used to being a family of 4. So she's coming mid-June in the hope it coincides with DH going back to work. She was a bit put out at first - as she said it would have been exciting to be there for the birth Hmm - yes exciting for you Mum maybe! I think she understands though - ultimately it is very much your decision your Mum will come round whatever. I too would quite happily be on my own as I don't like anyone around me when I'm in pain. I wouldn't be surprised if DH remains completely silent this time as he got short shrift from me last time telling me how to breath Grin.

CMH why do people feel a need to comment on your size? I have a friend who is due on 19 April and to be fair she is huge and has been for a very long time but is getting so p*ssed off with the 'so you're having twins' 'is it heavy etc' comments. Of course when I'm with her I get the 'You're small aren't you' which is becoming equally annoying as I am much smaller than I was with DS.
