Congratulations mslucy!

Sorry for those suffering in the heat - I have to say I am loving it! Although I also basically only have one pair of trousers which (a) fit and (b) are suitable for this weather, and only about 3 light, summery tops...

Had homebirth visit from the midwife earlier in the week and now I'm 37 weeks am all set for a homebirth if all continues normally (DD born in a midwife led unit so my first homebirth). Also just wanted to say "horray for Freecycle" - we'd got quite a few things already for a birth at home, but the midwife said we also needed an angle poise light and even more old towels than we had - and Freecycle has come up trumps for both. I'll freecycle onwards the light after (don't think anyone will want the old towels...Grin)

mslucy Sorry, missed your post with my completely self engrossed post. Congratulations! Happy Easter weekend to you. [bugrin]

jbells I was looking at my summer stuff this morning and for the first time a wee bit grateful we are experiencing the coldest spring in about 50 years here.

The countdown is certainly on. I'm at 34 weeks and it feels like I still have forever till baby comes.

QwertyQueen · 22/04/2011 23:59

it is 1am here and I am awake as I just had the most horrendous nightmare.
Nothing to do with the baby, thank goodness. It was about good and evil (spiritually) and murders, and being involved in it and all these scary things happening around me - I woke up terrified...
So have forced myself up as sometimes if I go back to sleep, I go back into the same dream :(

mslucy - congrats, let us know when you have a pic on your profile?

GotArt · 23/04/2011 01:26

Good gracious Qwerty, how awful. Brew

pootros · 23/04/2011 08:09

Loopy - thanks for the slings page - legend.

I have had a funny few days - 37 weeks. doubled up walking dog because of pain from belly button to foof, lasted few secs; no gush. at MW appt she said Baby's back to back. Great.

THEN she said - it happens more these days as women spend all their time watching TV. ( I'm still working - I bit my tongue) THen she said - it didn't used to happen when women were on their hands and knees scrubbing the floors - ( okk...I thought to myself the day before in garden on H&K might have counted but she's right I hrdly ever scrub anything) THEN she said - but nowadays most people pay for help don't they? !

She didn't actually say anything useful about how to turn it, until I asked, when she mentioned sitting on the birthball.
I just found stuff online - www.gentlebirth.org/archives/breech.html#Slantboard for example and and did the pelvic tilt and bum in the air for 20 mins twice a day.

However - 2 days later I had a little bleed - went to hospital - baby fine & moving - baby in a better position - I came home the same night - have continued doing exercises and baby feels like she's moved to a better position - belly button dip has gone and is replaced by a little hard back! yey xxx
( doesn't stop her waking me at 4am though - double yey!!

pootros · 23/04/2011 08:12

querty - that sucks xx i hope you woke refreshed like a daisy. xxx I reckon its this hot weather.

Pistatio. Sorry u had a bad nite to. Ive got a feeling the sleep depruvation is goin to get gradually worse for us all :(

brillopads · 23/04/2011 09:05

qwerty blah, hate having bad dreams, the kind where you're afraid togo back to sleep again Sad it's stupid because you know "it's just a dream" but in the middle of the night they're ever so real; I've also been pondering how when our LO arrives (and gets old enough) & they have a bad dream, waking up asking for Mum /Dad that's going to be us !!!

pootros that MW sounds pretty unbelievable! I was a bit Hmm at one of my appointments when one of mine asked if I'd 'decided' on how I was going to feed... I thought they were supposed to be pro-BFing ?

Well it's my birthday today Smile. I'm now 31 years old, and 36w +3. No big plans, actually need to wait in for a Tesco Direct delivery which they still haven't narrowed down from a 7am-7pm time slot;

jbells · 23/04/2011 09:18

Happy birthday brillo! I was 31 in November... The bloody birthdays just keep coming dont they. Id quite like to stick now please :o

38+1 now, still crampy and losing stuff now and again. Went to the physio on Thursday and ahe gave me crutches and a lovely sexy belt which does nowt apart from make me look daft.

Mw said im 3/5 engaged, baby is well locked in nicely and im measuring a week ahead so could be any time really. Ill probably still be here in 3 weeks knowing my luck.

MummyWilliams · 23/04/2011 18:49

Happy Birthday Brillo! Hope you have enjoyed yourself. It was my DS 8th birthday today.

mslucy fantastic news that you now have your little Max home with you Smile

qwerty wishing you a much more peaceful night, tonight.

jbells my sleep has been constantly disturbed for the past 4 weeks. Sometimes, I just end up sitting on the sofa at 2am in the morning sobbing my heart out because I am just so damn tired, but can't sleep. The carpal tunnel is agony day and night now, I get too hot, DP snores, can't get comfy, restless legs & feet (but find that cooling foot gel helps a little) etc etc I also wake for a wee every 40-60 mins. I get up, eat cereal (sometimes), go on mumsnet, watch something on catch up tv, have a little nap on the sofa, usually waking downstairs at around 5am, which is when I return upstairs to bed, toss and turn a little more, finally falling asleep at 6.30'ish. Then DP has to get up at 7.30am and DC usually awake by then too. It just goes on like that throughout the whole night. I am really looking forward to having some sleep when LO arrives.

I have developed what can only be described as 'elephantitis' my legs, ankles, feet, hands all feel huge and ready to burst.

38 weeks today.

Sorry to rub it in, but, only 5 more sleeps and 4 more whole days til ELCS Grin

Hello to everyone else. xxx

QwertyQueen · 23/04/2011 18:56

Evening all.

I wrote a long post last night but when i went to send, my computer died.

MsLucy congratulations :)
Happy birthday to Brillo hope you have had a lovely day.

To those who asked after my trip to Happy feet for my fish pedicure - well it was great :o. Very bizarre feeling initially but great after effect. I have to admit though, i couldn't look at the fish on my feet and had to visualise that it was just a normal foot spa with jets of water blasting feet instead.

Had a lot of cramps, back ache today lots of pressure very low down today. 39 + 3 today. Dh out tonight but driving just in case :o

jbells · 23/04/2011 22:12
