roller can you repost the code as I can't seem to find it (assume you mean in this thread) despite searching on your nametag...

Rollercoasteryears · 31/03/2011 08:43

No prob - it's CE1210. Happy shopping!

linziluv · 31/03/2011 10:07

Helloo ladies...just gearing myself up for a grand sort out...the bedrooms are overwhelmingly disorganized!
On a good note I've just ordered my photo cards from DS for mothers day (makes my nanna and mums day!) on moonpig so that's one job done!
I know what u mean Cazzr...I'm starting to worry about labour now! It can't be worse than DS so keeping positive thinking that! I'm really set on HB but stupid people are making me doubt the decision.
Ok, I'm procrastinating now...must get on!!

missp2010 · 31/03/2011 10:11

Thank you for all the nice welcomes

loopy they're pretty positive about vbacs here, so far it seems i'd have to really argue my corner if I wanted an elcs. Glad I'm not the only one to have put on so much weight!

cowboy I'm so relieved I feel ok with this pregnancy, last two I felt much sicker at the beginning and had lots of aches and pains in the third trimester. So far this time I just feel fat! Not really even that tired. DD was 10lb and DS was 8lb 9oz at 39 weeks.

I didn't realise this was the last week for obem. I've really enjoyed this series. What will I do with my Monday evenings???

I'm feeling pretty fed up this morning I have just had a phone call from the antenatal clinic at the hospital, they've cancelled my appointment to see the consultant on tuesday re birth options. They can't even tell me when I'll get another, I get the impression I may have to wait a while Angry. Bloody typical.

Ho hum, off to tidy up my tip of a house. I do wish people would learn to pick up after themselves.....

Cazzr · 31/03/2011 10:43

Rollercoaster do I need to buy it from a specific website as the code is coming up as invalid on the www.birthpoolinabox.co.uk/ site... ?

linziluv most people are quite positive/surprised and respectful, it's my mum and sister who are the ones who are most fearful about it, which of course adds pressure on me, but I'm quite resolute now it's what 'I' want. Dh is easy about it.

Rollercoasteryears · 31/03/2011 10:48

Yes cazzr, sorry thought I'd said - it's from the nct shop website

Cazzr · 31/03/2011 10:48

doh, pregnant brain, just on the nct website... :)

Not for me cazz...mum and midwife really up for it but DP a little skeptical...anyone at work, unless they have personal experience, has made me feel I'm putting me and baby at risk (and I work for NHS so staff there should know better than anyone!)...not gonna let it cloud my judgement though!
I'm through one bedroom...one to go! Tryin to organize DS's room as gonna get him in his own bed again before baby comes as don't want him thinking he's been pushed out cuz of his sister!

Rollercoasteryears · 31/03/2011 12:14

loopy sounds to me as though you've got good grounds to complain - you're clearly v well informed (and experienced!) so if you felt under a lot of pressure from them, most of us would have no doubt found it really horrible...

Still waiting to see the "consultant" - appt was at 11am but apparently they're bow running 1h30 late as there's only one registrar here. Have already used up all my resources to entertain DS - he's so bored, it's going to be a nightmare when we eventually get in there!

Bonkerz · 31/03/2011 13:30

LOOPY sounds like you should complain! i dont know how you remained calm!

We have a new car......after looking at about 7 zafiras, a RAV4 and some Citroens and galaxys we opted for a multipla! really shocked at how spacious it was and even if we kept one seat down in the zafira it didnt come close to the space in the multipla! It was also the newest car with the lowest milage and best price so is a win win and it leaves about £600 in the bank compared to the nest best car! HAPPY ME!!!!

Midwife has also agreed i can have a break from her adn doesnt want to see me till 36 weeks (mianly cos got hospital next week but still!) BP back down showing normal and urine looking alot better and blood tests all came back fine but yet again she demanded rest but said that she didnt expect me to be able to do as much as i have been anyway! cheeky mare LMAO although my bump size has grown disproportionally large and now measuring at 37 (im 33+4!) but we will see on Tuesday wehn i have my growth scan!

Maxwell is today right up under my ribs and i keep getting a little squidgy bottom moving across my belly in a shuffle like fashion....very odd to watch!

Rollercoasteryears · 31/03/2011 14:16

Well registrar turned out to have quite a lot to say... she was v nice but essentially am def no longer classed as low risk. Amnio fluid is high, baby is now transverse with head up under my ribs and cord is down by cervix. So risk of pre term labour, in which case level of fluid and position of cord means high risk of cord prolapse. Baby's tummy is also v big which is often a sign of diabetes, though there's no family history and my blood sugar has always been normal. I have to see her again next week but she's said to go into hospital at first sign of labour and says we may have to think about delivery at 38 weeks. That'll teach me to buy a birth pool! Better get packing that hospital bag...

saldoozer · 31/03/2011 15:22

loopymummy I work as a radiographer, some duties are restricted as soon as your pregnant, recently i've been more restricted by my bump. there is a lot of being on your feet but i guess it must of kept me fit up till now, due to understaffing the last couple of weeks has been hard so very happy to be on maternity leave now.
I keep getting kicked in the (very tender) ribs today which is plesant.

Cazzr · 31/03/2011 17:52

rollercoaster could the baby not go head down still? Or is it a case of because of all the factors together meaning deliver at 38 weeks? Also assuming they mean cs?
How frustrating for you, especially with having bought your pool already, tho assuming you've not unpacked it you should at least get a full refund.

I'm gonna hold fire till after my scan on Tuesday now b4 ordering 'just in case', think I've decided on aquaborn one too.

sesamesmith · 31/03/2011 18:27

Double pants - baby is breech again! Thought it had moved head down :( 34 weeks, so could still turn, as could yours, Rollercoaster. I have had reflexology recommended from every corner - midwife, osteopath, homeopathic friend, other friends, books etc, so perhaps it's worth a try for both of us?

Still feeling down from work rubbish. My new boss at the Wednesday school is a total lier, so not expecting anything there! Thanks so much for the support everyone! I'm sure things will look better once I'm not having to run around so much...

Bonkerz: enjoy your new wheels!

Loopy: I think making a complain would be a good idea so hopefully they will understand what they are doing and the effect what they say has.

Cazzr: I was really surprised as normally don't set foot in there as can't cope with the clutter!

It's a good job we have had some bargains as somehow got a money pit issue going on:
Washing machine is knackered so got to get a new one
Bought all the baby stuff from ikea today to go out to my DH's month old car which some selfish knobhead wanker had gone straight in to the side of it and is now scraped from back to front
Then driving home someone pulled straight out on us so I slammed on the brakes so I didn't hit him so mum got a baby bath in the back of the head and the belt locked on my belly so I am now on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself.

Sorry that was really moaney and me so I will come back later in a better mood Smile

Bonkerz · 31/03/2011 18:58

oh no COWBOY sounds like a rotten day! keep those feet up and have some chocolate ;0)

my day got worse.......:0( DH went to pick up the car after we paid £30 to change over insurance only to discover they were having trouble with one of the indicator lights.....further inspection found the whole light unit needed replacing at a cost to THEM of £140 plus labour.......they are doing this but cant get part till monday.....cue panic.....DH isnt insured on the car we part exchanged so was left stranded. Eventually he drove the old car home leaving our new car at garage till monday as we thought it would just be a case of ringing insurance BUT OH NO insurance wanted another £30 to change it back and then another £30 on monday to change it back to new car :0( SO DH was very unhappy and im a pregnant hormonal woman so got straight on phone to car dealer demanding they pay this excess £60.......whilst on phone ranting Blush i notice that DH insurance policy covers him to drive any car 3rd party not belonging to him! well the old car officially belongs to car company now SO he is covered to drive it.....obviously i didnt admit my mistake but insisted that for the inconvenience of having no car ;0) till monday that they deliver the new car personally (about 25 mile trip) once indicator is fixed on monday and that they should fill it up with diesel too for the inconvenience! they agreed so whilst we have to wait till monday for our new car it will be all fixed with ned lights and a tank of diesel! LOL

Dh has now just popped off to asda to buy us both something nice for tea as we havent eaten today!

JBrd · 31/03/2011 19:24

Sorry to hear that you're all pretty stressed about lots of things! Hope things will pick up over the weekend for everyone.

Had my last day at work today, it was really nice - I got given a box of nappies, huge bunch of flowers and a card. Now I'm at home, thinking, what am I going to do now... But I'm sure that's a temporary thought, as there is lots to do! Tomorrow I'm having an expectant mother spa treatment at Clarins, which I think is a good start for maternity leave Grin

NCT again on Saturday, and my mum arrives, then lunch with the in-laws in Sunday - no time really to twiddle my thumbs!

stripeybumpsmum · 31/03/2011 19:55

Hi all,

Do you think there are special secret days where the staff in antenatal clinics agree to conspire to annoy every 3rd woman or something random? It seems like everyone is having annoying conversations with them! I saw SHO today and was at one point quite tempted to say "well actually, my motivation is an unsafe birth, I really want to put baby and previous CS scar at risk, obviously" because that is what you appear to think. WTF? She's written in my notes that we had 'a LONG conversation about VBAC' and that I am resistant to all forms of induction. Yes, I asked questions about continuous monitoring and said I expected to be late so I didn't want to be worrying until at least term plus 12 (DS +10, DD+12, scan dates on this one are already 5 days ahead of my dates). 'Long' discussion took all of about 8 minutes. Pissed me off. But like others have said Loopy without being informed I would have just been told to skip along.

On the positive, bump has moved to head down, so thank you for the spinning babies link. But now measuring 3 weeks ahead.

Hope you all have a better few days! Take care

ilovemydogandMrObama · 31/03/2011 20:07

stripey Amazing isn't it? I had a registrar write in my yellow book (hand held notes) that I refused an exam. He didn't even ask! Shock Shock. Makes you wonder what's in the other notes...

Went to chiropractor this morning. DH looked after DS as usually he comes with me to appointments. The chiro had a big foam thing with a hole in the middle so it was possible to get comfortable face down. Lovely Smile

Have been buying a few baby clothes on ebay, mainly sleepsuits. Think this one will be in sleepsuits until 2 years old. Grin I did adorable outfits with DD and DS, but: a. they didn't care and b. they ended up staying clean for about 5 minutes. So sleepsuits as long as possible....

pissovski · 31/03/2011 22:28

Hi All

Have only just found this thread :) Am due DC1 on 4 May so just 5 weeks to go :) We have some clothes (washed and in the drawer) moses basket and some bedding, pram is in the shop to be collected - think i need to get lots more stuff but am a bit overwhelmed with everything really.

I finished work week before last (am a supply teacher, and the person i was covering for returned) and am very grateful for this as i have had a rather horrible sinus infection and cough this week. I do suffer with these from time to time, and usually self medicate with Sudafed tablets. Obviously i couldn't do this this time and had to go to the drs and get anti biotics. Had some really crap sleep, but now seem to be recovering slowly. Unfortunately DH now has it and is feeling terrible, so i am playing Florence Nightingale! Do feel v lucky though, as apart from heartburn and some muscular back/bum cheek aches I have felt generally fine (but knackered). Much sympathy to those who are suffering/have suffered

We don't start our ante natal classes for another week as they were the only evening ones we could get into, so I am keeping fingers crossed that we get do all 4 of them!

Had a bit of a panic earlier this week when i thought there was less movement. Got checked and felt so much better after hearing the heartbeat and knowing all was well :) Still hoping for a water birth and been told that should be ok. Fingers crossed

Love to all xx

kiwigirlinlondon · 31/03/2011 23:46

Welcome pissovski - I'm also due on 4th may with DC1

Sorry to hear lots of people have been having stressful times. I hope it all improves! I feel exhausted and a bit stressed and very glad it's Friday tomorrow. After that only 7 days til I finish work

runningmonkey · 01/04/2011 00:50

Can't blimmin sleep again - restless legs this time! Mind you, last day in work tomorrow as I barely made it through today so saw my head of dept who spoke to the head who agreed I could go tomorrow instead of next Friday as my mat cover is already working in the school :) According to them, 3 days here or there won't make any difference to my mat pay either!

What a load of crappy appointments everyone seems to have had. loopy sounds like you def have cause for complaint there. stripey doesn't sound like the kind of appointment you needed either.

rollercoaster hope you are ok. sesame you too - spinningbabies.com might help.

Bonkerz how annoying re the car but at least you get a free tank of diesel and don't need to pick it up now!

Right off to google restless leg cures before attempting to sleep again x
