Joined Mums Net on Friday. It's been really useful for me.

Pregnancy has been great so far and I've not had many symptoms, however, I don't have many friends who really understand what I;'m going through and the invites to go out have pretty much dried out.

Are there any Wimbledon or nearby Mummies who'd like to keep in touch?

My name's Leila and I'm 28. I'm about to turn 18 weeks with my 1st :)

Hi Leila,

Sorry to hear that you don't have many people around you that understand. I think it's something to do with our age!!!!
I'm 28 too and expecting my 1st (although this is my 2nd Pregnancy). I will be 14wks on Wednesday. I live in Cheam.

We've run into a little problem this week and at our Nuchal Scan we were told that we had a high risk of having a baby with Downs Syndrome so we are awaiting the results of a CVS (where they take a sample of the placenta and test for abnormal chromosons) to see if our baby does or doesn't suffer from it. Scray stuff! Anyway, like the Midwife said, its only a risk not a diagnosis so fingers crossed, just can't help thinking the worst.

So glad you are enjoying your pregnancy and it has been straightforward for you, I'm a bit jealous!!!! Grin

Hey Stormbird

Lovely to meet you.

I'm sorry to hear that. As you said, it's just a risk and not a diagnosis. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. What hospital are you registered with?

I'll message you my details, let me know if you fancy a chat sometime :)

Leila xx

Hi Swanny and Stormbird,

I live in Wimbledon and am expecting my first baby at 30. I'm only 5 weeks though so it's still v early days! Due date is 3rd Oct.

I have quite a lot of friends who had their 1st baby last year but none who live nearby.

Hope all is going well with your pregnancy.

Hi...

I live in Southfields and have just found out I'm pg with #2. Due date is 17/10 but obviously its all really early.

I'm 35 and have a 2.5yo DS

Hi Knitter,

Congrats! I'm booked into St Georges, how about you?

Have you seen the October bus on the pregnancy page and the Oct stats on this topic page?

KnitterNotTwitter · 13/02/2011 19:33

Hey... Yep St Georges for me. They did a good job with my DS (and my ectopic and my MC)!

I'm on the october bus and keep meaning to add myself to the stats too - thanks for the reiminder :)

How are things going for you?

Hi Knitter,

Sorry for such a late reply. Had so much going on with exams and my Grandad I haven't had much chance to go on Mumsnet. How are you doing?

I'm glad you've said St Georges have been good with you. They've seemed very efficient so far. I haven't had a tour yet but would like to go for the birthing pool in the carmen suite if I can. I feel fine, hardly any symptoms. Got a bit worried in case something was wrong as I just don't feel pregnant. Scan's on Fri so hopefully that will reassure me. Have you had yours?

Might be a silly question, are you a keen knitter? I'm a beginner, my MIL has been teaching me. Making my very 1st scarf and feeling very proud of it! x
