let down reflex and milk before birth!

just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

i am due today with no 5 and the past few days my breasts have suddenly got that really heavy full feeling, have been leaking colostrum for ages, but yesterday and today ihave actually had that tingly let down feeling, my breasts then go a bit hard and lumpy like when your milk lets down and i am then leaking milk, i can actually squirt milk out, several jets of it, if i squeeze my nipples!

my breasts are really tender and the tingly let down feeling is quite strong and toe curling!

obviously i know this is normal ONCE you have had your baby but i havent, i am 1-2cm dilated and have had a show, so things are heading in the right direction :)

are my breasts just being extra prepared? in my previous 4 pregnancies i leaked colostrum but never got the heavy full of milk feeling or let down before baby arrived!

i see the midwife tomorrow so will mention it to her, but wondered if anyone had any thoughts or similar experiences?

oh i have a tendency to over produce milk and after my last baby my prolactin levels went crazy (had to have mri to rule out pituitary gland tumour) so obviously am concerned things are heading the same way?

or phaps my breasts are just super efficient?

Yes I had that - was a TOTAL pain in the arse!

Of course it may be an indication you are starting labour

oh good as long as its not just me! i dont feel such a freak now, i googled and all the sites said that it never happens

yes i wonder that my body is def getting ready for labour, midwife giving me a sweep today so hope that helps, also hope the midwife can come out to me (home birth) as we have snow!

oh hello you, how are things? maybe its because its a girly one??

all fine, saw midwife and forgot to mention leaky boobs and let down 8) but they seem to have settled a bit today.

had sweep, cervix favourable so they will be able to break my waters next week if i want to be induced. not much else happening, just recovering from fluey bug i have had.
