RedZuleika · 04/10/2005 08:28

Btw - I could murder a bacon sandwich this morning.

Cabe · 04/10/2005 08:37

Morning Girls and babes still in bumps

Good Luck JM hope you get the 'sweep'
How many days over are you now JM and RZ?

Love the soft-focus vision of labour!!!

RedZuleika · 04/10/2005 08:46

My due date was somewhere between the 22nd and the 24th September (some slight difference between ovulation calculation and early scan, but much in the same ballpark), so I guess that's 10 - 12 days.

Cabe · 04/10/2005 11:24

Oh RZ, you must be looking forward to meeting peanut now!
Your midwife sounds nice - just been signed off by our lovely midwife, I'll miss her - can't expect to get on with the health visitor half so well.
you put me in mind of bacon sandwich all morning - had to make do with grilled tomatoes on toast... didn't really hit the spot !!!

jessysmummy · 04/10/2005 12:10

Mmmm...bacon sandwich...RZ, you've really put me in the mood!
Cabe - I was due on 24th so I'm 10 days overdue today by the hospital scans. Have just heard about a colleague who produced her first (DD) last night at 16 days overdue. Hoping I don't follow suit but DD was 13 days overdue so kind of expecting it
Back from post-date appt. Everything ok - baby just far too comfortable in there. Sweep performed. Was hoping for same response from mw as I had last time, ie " If you're not back in tonight I'll eat my hat" but no such luck. "We'll see you again on Friday for a repeat performance" doesn't bode well, does it?
DH gone back to work and DD in nursery so will have to find something to amuse myself. Heyho..back to the waiting game!
RZ - glad to hear the mw kept you happy. What do I care if I'm draped in white? - I'm having a hospital birth - I won't have to get the stains out!!!!

jessysmummy · 04/10/2005 12:14

Cabe - I remember when my mw signed me off with DD - I really missed her and the hv was useless. Luckily I've got the same community mw this time though she's on hol at the moment. Think she'll be back though for home visits when this baby finally decides to put in an appearance.
Hope Conrad is doing well.

franch · 04/10/2005 16:02

Glad to hear others are craving chocolate too - I just can't stop eating treats - I comfort-ate for about 6 weeks after DD1's birth and put on loads more weight than I'd gained during the pregnancy and am trying my best not to do the same this time as it was incredibly hard to lose. Agh!!

beatie · 04/10/2005 16:31

Same here Franch. I put on the most weight I have ever whilst I was breastfeeding and thought it was safe to eat whatever I wanted. This time I am making sure I get my extra calories from healthier sources.

BTW ~ Many thanks for your email and the letter. I will try and write to the hospital this weekend whilst it is still fresh in my mind.

PiccadillyCircus · 04/10/2005 16:47

I keep eating chocolate . And there is a lot of weight to lose....

franch · 04/10/2005 19:07

It doesn't help either that all my friends and family think I need a treat and very kindly keep bringing me cakes and chocolate ..... DH is cooking me yummy but BIG meals too and it would be rude to say no ..... I'm so weak-willed

Good luck with writing to the hosp Beatie - do let me know how you get on.

Cabe · 04/10/2005 20:21

Oh no!!!.... don't get me on chocolate, only just managed to resist getting masses of bacon for a huge bacon sandwich

Jessysmummy - more labour vibes winging your way {{{Hugs}}}
Conrad is a little gem - not a moment of concern since he started regaining his weight... couldn't wish for a more relaxed babe

good luck for tonight being the night all yet to pop xxx

singleteenagemum · 04/10/2005 20:23

evening all.....

Sorry you're still JM and RZ was hoping you wouldn't be.

Well Noah Caleb was born at 09:58 on Sunday. Had cord round neck twice and had pooed in the water, didn't seem him for 2 and half hours...all is fine...was only in hospital one night...home yesterday...had a good day today.

Short but sweet (i hope) post.

STM x x x

mummyhill · 04/10/2005 20:35

COngratulations STM and welcome to Noah Caleb

marinda · 04/10/2005 21:48

Hi girls - Caitlyn was born on Monday morning after 10 hour labour at home in birthing pool. Everything OK - Just a little tear and although begged for hospital/epidural at one time - managed to cope with just gas and air. She weighed 8lb 7oz and was 3 days overdue. - Will post soon !! Hope rest of you are ok.

bubbles2904 · 04/10/2005 22:03

Congratulations stm and Marinda.
Well, i've been to see my new god daughter libbi today and she's beautiful.
Good luck all who are still with bump, KF let us know that you are both ok when you get a chance xxx

beetlejuice73 · 04/10/2005 22:54

Congratulations Marinda and STM. STM you're amazingly calm about the whole thing, including cords and baby absence. Very impressed. Welcome to the babies.

jessysmummy · 05/10/2005 06:49

So many BIG ONCGRATULATIONS to you STM and Marinda!
Delighted that Noah finally made a safe arrival. Was he as big as they were predicting? Enjoy your little man!
And enjoy your new little girl, marinda. Look forward to hearing more from you both when/if you get the time.
So it's just you and me RZ, assuming tiggyhop and Kiwifruit have had safe deliveries! Shall we make it more interesting? Let's have a competition to see who can stay pregnant the longest...novel idea,eh?
Had a couple of small "shows" following my sweep yesterday so hopeful that TODAY WILL BE THE DAY! It's the birthday of a very good friend of mine today so can't be all bad.
Postnatal ladies - if you don't want the chocolate you can fire it in my direction. Making the most of being able to eat all the things I shouldn't before I have to go on that post natal diet! Don't be so hard on yourselves - give yourselves a couple of weeks to relax and enjoy...
Cabe - Glad to hear that Conrad is being a little sweetie for you.

Cabe · 05/10/2005 07:15

CONGRATULATIONS STM!!! A huge and long awaited WELCOME to Noah Caleb

I also think you're wonderfully calm STM those two hours would have freaked me out!

Marinda a big hello to Little Caitlyn too... Welcome to the world
I might be biased but I think we all must have the best named babies of the year [smug emoticon!]

What a lovely cache of posts to wake up to - Maybe tomorrow or the next day we'll have RZ and JM to congratulate - JM do you really think you should be encouraging these babes to stay put??? Perhaps it's time for a firm lecture on all the possible horrid names you could choose if they don't make a speedy appearance!!!
xxx

beatie · 05/10/2005 07:32

Congratulations and welcome to the world Noah and Caitlyn. Well done mummies

I can't wait until everyone has joined us on the postnatal thread. It won't be long - JM - your show sounds promising.

bubbles2904 · 05/10/2005 10:08

Good morning jm and rz, tiggyhop and kf maybe LOL
I've never been so excited about anything as i am when i see if any new babies have joined us.
JM, are you taking bets on which of you will be the last to pop? if so can i have a little guess?

jessysmummy · 05/10/2005 10:20

Feel free to take a guess - anything to make this wait more interesting! Of course, my money's on me being last. Is it really only 10.20?

RedZuleika · 05/10/2005 10:26

Morning morning.

Slept pretty badly again last night, so - combined with the gestation period of an elephant - am dead grumpy again today. We outsourced the dog to my MIL yesterday, in hope that something might happen soon, so I don't even have his snuffling to cheer me.

I'll stop wallowing in self-pity in a minute...

Lots of period-like pains, backache, nausea... but nothing concrete happening yet. I feel that my uterus is like one of those old diesel lawnmowers, that splutters and shudders and fails to start over and over again before it finally fires.

I have taken my midwife's advice to try the castor oil however, so I may be spending the morning in the bathroom. I've been very careful not to take too much - but curry was never going to work, I suspect, because I eat a lot of hot food normally anyway.

Congratulations STM and Marinda!

JM: Are you having any twinges as well as the show? My midwife says that 96% of babies are born between 38 and 42 weeks, so you'd think it should be soon (particularly as this is not your first child). Hope springs eternal...

Piccalilli · 05/10/2005 10:50

Morning all. I have been lurking but not posting for a while now - just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to all who have had their babies and commiserations to those still waiting. I'm now 12 days overdue and going out of my mind. I've had a sweep which did absiolutely nothing, since then no signs of labour whatsoever so it looks like I'll be keeping that induction appointment on Friday.

milward · 05/10/2005 10:56

Good luck to all waiting for labour to start xxx

KiwiKate · 05/10/2005 11:41

RZ - have you tried caulophylum? It really got things moving for me when I was "hovering" at the start of labour.

Good luck!
