CheeseandGerkins I had a dream that I was in a band and had to drum for hours on end, I wondered if it might be a metaphor for labour Grin I was quite surprised about how good I was!

Bad news is I sneezed this morning and a little bit of wee came out Shock BAH!

Good luck with the Midwife today mrsSnaplegs I have mine at 4.

Kellestar Grin at the list failure. I will have to be specific, maybe I will make him a wife-swap manual like he requested a good month ago. WhatWillSantaBring I am always on a sock hunt, usually finding a pile next to DH's computer desk! I've decided to start taking more care myself to do a quick clean up of clutter and debris every evening so that as we get nearer to the due date there's less of a build up.

Did you do a breastfeeding session at your NCT class? I have mine tonight and am hoping they talk about how exhausting it is and how much I will appreciate DH bringing me drinks and food.

Hello everyone, I'm sitting on my birth ball being a good little notso today instead of rushing round like a loon.
Have had contractions on and off since Thursday, varying from massively strong and painful but still braxton hicksy to niggley, crampy period pain type ones, also have had a huge increase in milk leakage and can't eat much without being sick, exactly the same as the week before DS was born although I was 40+ then not 33+4 like now.
Frustrating because I feel the need to run round and get things ready but that seems to be worsening the contractions so I am in a bit of catch 22.
Good news though we have a short list of 6 girls names but still only an iffy list for boys, maybe thats a sign.

Physio told me there is little I can do about the SPD and back pain, but loads DH can do to help which made him feel guilty, she offered crutches but I declined and said if the pain gets even worse then they will prob admit me onto the ward for bedrest which I do not want to happen.

Sorry to hear others are suffering with various ailments too. At least the end is in sight for us all.

I need your advice now about waters breaking now, although this is my third pg my waters have never officially gone. I just felt the miniest pop then v regular contractions started with DD and I had ARM with DS after labouring for about 6 hours.
Apologies for TMI and dumbass descriptionGin
If they have broken can you force the water to come out like wee? I felt a very teeny tiny gushing feeling and a bit damp but on inspection it just seemed like normal discharge, however since then when I wee I can force out extra fluid after the wee but I can't feel it coming out like I can the wee. Any advice if you can make sence of that ramble!

notso · 08/11/2010 10:54

Blush though I would love a large Gin now I actually meant [Grin] and am gutted at my poor spelling too sense.

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 11:04

WLL glad you're enjoying the classes, I've gone through everything so many times with dh (this will be his first) and linked him so many articles that they're coming out of his ear lol :o

Lol DF :o could well be a metaphor for labour, sounds promising that you were really good at it :o Oh I love watching wife swap, manual sounds like a great idea hehe. The bringing of food and drinks (especially drinks!) whilst bf is really important, my babies tended to feed for ages at a time and often to boot so having a drink and a sandwich brought is definitely handy.

I watched that birth video earlier, it's really reassuring to see the women looking so relaxed and calm, I showed it to dh too who didn't appreciate in the same way I did but did watch it at least!

Speaking of socks, where do all the pairs go? I've bought so many new socks for the dcs, dh and me lately but still struggle to find pairs! I went through all the clean washing last night (took a while as I'd left it to pile up Blush) and found lots of single socks but few pairs Confused.

What a miserable day out today, I hate it when it's overcast and rainy, much prefer a crisp, sunny day at this time of year.

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 11:07

Cross posts notso I think you should get checked out. When my waters have gone I've noticed leaking when I move or on the loo etc, not a massive gush but did have small one which then continued to leak. Stick a pad on just in case but I really would get checked out especially considering the contractions you've been having. Definitely take it easy, I get a LOT worse when doing stuff, much more tightenings and achiness etc. How far apart are you getting pains now?

notso · 08/11/2010 11:24

Thanks C&G, they are back down to more irregular now roughly 20-25 mins apart, but when I was sorting DC for school they were every 7 mins.
Have put a pad on, I'm pretty sure its just discharge though, trying to hold on til tomorrow as am at ANC at 9:30 anyway, I know if I go now then I'll will be stuck there all day waiting for an emergency appointment which will prob make everything worse as I'll be uncomfortable and stressing about DC, Monday is a bad childcare day for me and DH is 3.5 hours away if traffic is good.

Who knows what happens to socks I have managed to lose two of my unborn babies in the pre washing processGrin

DuelingFanjo · 08/11/2010 11:25

notso I was told at NCT yesterday that waters can break differently. So sometimes there can be a lot of fluid at the head (if baby is head down) and other times there can be fluid all around the rest of the baby. So you can get a gush or just a steady trickle or a few gushes over time. Or like you, nothing at all until the birth!

notso · 08/11/2010 11:37

Argh really do have preg brain today, that post sounds awful I have only lost two of my unborn babies socks in the wash not the actual babies.

Thanks DF with there being lots of fluid I am expecting a tidal wave, where as I just feel damp which is not unusual in pg anyway, and it only comes out whe i force it to not just randomly it's just that it doesn't feel like I am weeing when it comes out IYSWIM.

DuelingFanjo · 08/11/2010 11:52

I wake in the night feeling damp but always thought it was the fact I have a v shaped cushion between my legs!

notso · 08/11/2010 12:01

Grin DF

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 12:18

notso definitely sounds to me like rest will benefit you and lack of anything stressful; hard with children I know! :o Please mention the leaking tomorrow and see if they'll check to make sure it isn't your waters, they can leak really slowly and wouldn't want you risking infection. I had lots of fluid last time as well as this time and when my waters went last time I didn't have a massive gush at all, just leaking that continued so do be careful with that. I would be tempted to give a call today to be honest, the dampness and leaking do sound like it could be your waters. I still need to wash baby clothes, I keep putting it off and off...

DF lol :o

notso · 08/11/2010 12:31

Just made a brew and I'm going to bed for an hour, hopefully that will slow things down.

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 12:32

DF I forgot to say, I will join you in the sneezing and weeing a little club :o

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 12:33

notso hope it slows for you, maybe a bath would help too? Although, if it is the real thing nothing will help and maybe the bath wouldn't be good just in case your waters are leaking.

SlightlyTired · 08/11/2010 12:41

notso, hope it slows down. Prob not a great deal of point getting checked out today if it continues as is, and you've got your appointment tomorrow.

C&G and DF, me too, except mine is when I cough (which is relatively regularly, given that I have a chest cold. Blush Meant to ask - this did not happen in first pregnancy - is it a sign of female incontinence to come? Should I be doing pelvic floor exercises like they are going out of fashion?

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 12:47

slightly I had it a little at the end before too but it did go away afterwards, phew! Obviously pelvic floor exercises to help though. I tend to forget about doing them though most of the time.

CherylAnnTweedy · 08/11/2010 14:09

Reading all your posts about your DH's, I'm thinking mine must have a womans brain! He doesn't stop cleaning the house, tells me off if I carry the dry washing upstairs etc. If we have to nip to the shops for extra milk or bread he checks if anything else is needed. OK, he does have OCD tendencies when it comes to cleaning but I'm feeling quite smug here that I won't have to give him a list and spell it all out for him how to do things around the house.

I've never been to nct classes myself, but those of you who are 1st timers, I'm quite Envy that you have MN. I would have loved it when I had ds1. I was so naive about everything it would have been great to have to read other peoples stories, post my worries and have a bit of support.

DuelingFanjo · 08/11/2010 15:04

My EX was much more like your DH Cheryl and it was really a bone of contention as I could never live up to his standards. Maybe I should remember that when having a go at my DH Grin

MrsSnaplegs · 08/11/2010 16:11

Just a quick post to reassure you the men will get the cleaning and tidying thing, my DH is SAHD now and I have just been told off for putting the wrong load of washing on Grin supposedly we alternate a load of DD washing then a load from ours we don't do all of hers then all of ours!

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 16:50

Anyone else getting what I can only describe as sharp pains in their cervix? Feels like needles in that area on and off. I'm not sure what position she's in now, possibly breech as I'm getting lots of strong kicks (feels like kick as opposed to hands) really low down. Starting to feel quite achy too and having a lot of BH's.

How's everyone else doing?

crazykat · 08/11/2010 17:02

C&G DSD will still be coming over during the day and we've got her a present. It's just the overnight part that worries me as she doesn't like going to bed when told even though she's allowed to watch a dvd in bed. My parents will have DD and DS for a few hours during the day to give us a little break but they're too young for my parents to manage overnight, they're fine on the rare occation DH and I have been out as they were in their own beds but I doubt they'd settle in a strange bed without me or DH.

CheeseandGherkins · 08/11/2010 17:05

crazy surely it would be OK with DH if she didn't stay overnight just the once then? It won't be like she's being ignored etc just that practically it will be really difficult with a newborn the very first weekend. Have you spoken at all about it yet or still planning to?

crazykat · 08/11/2010 17:17

We haven't spoken about it yet but I'm going to bring it up soon. He'll probably be fine about it but sometimes he can be a bit sensitive where DSD is concerned and think I don't treat her the same as our DC's. I'll just have to try and keep my hormones under control and explain it like a rational person.

DuelingFanjo · 08/11/2010 17:52

No sharp pains here C&G

Had the midwife today, the baby is head down but not engaged. Good heartbeat. She said that in two weeks a different midwife will come to my home because all the appointments are full and then after that I will see my usual midwife on 6th of December 'but you may well have had the baby by then'. My due date is 11th but the 6th would be fine by me. It's a first baby though so I expect it will be late.

SlightlyTired · 08/11/2010 17:55

C&G I have had sharp pains in cervix - feels a bit like LO is digging her nails in? Shock
