Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

OP posts:

m*s really are crap - i'll never go to them for fitting.
my first proper bra, the woman was embarrassed that i didn't have a bra on, and tried to measure me over my teeshirt.
and then tried to tell me that a 32b was the same as a 34a Shock and Hmm

I was actually planning on giving birth in the rehearsals befoer the Advent Carol service, so in the church.
should be clean! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 31/03/2011 14:27

Nope, prefer the idea of the knitted bra nickel!! Grin

Thanks for the sums Frak

vallinnapod · 31/03/2011 16:50

Well both my acupunturist and hairdresser looked at me like I was a freak :( Have been to Boots to buy Omega 3 and an iron supplement in case that is the cause! Hopefully it will sort out my split mouth and bad skin!

I also felt better as went to the Seraphine store and now have jeans that fit! And that are a size 10. And a nice work skirt. So if I am bald, I will at least be well dressed Grin

LOL at the thought of DH's jeans....he is a rake. Whilst I am not huge I have tried his 32" on before and nearly cried! Men's waists and women's hips do not like each other!

I have some uber comfy bamboo yoga bras from Sweaty Betty. They are basically crop tops but soooooooooo comfy!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 31/03/2011 18:05

Soo vallinna is bald but well dressed and Nickel is giving birth in a church at christmas time whilst wearing a wooly knitted bra. BB is going to hire frakkle* as her nanny and all their kids will have single letter names that are grunted rather than pronounced. And I'm going to give birth in a cardboard box.

*knitted bras bring several things to mind. 1) do they come with matching knickers? 2) Do they make crochet ones as well? 3) after this last Christmas/Winter wooly under wear don't sound so silly. 4) why do I keep missing the i button? The mind boogles at matching knockers to a knitted bra!

Had MW and despite all the stress Currant Bun is fine, good heart beat and size and some how my blood pressure is normal! Yay.

cowboylover · 31/03/2011 19:20

BB: Sorry your having a rubbish time so you feel better soon and maybe this means we will get little angels for toddlers!

Vanilla: I got my maternity jeans at 8 weeks and had them on the tightest adjustment then loosening them out as I have gone along so by my logic at least I would be getting the full wear out of them!

It's a good job we have had some bargains as somehow got a money pit issue going on:
Washing machine is knackered so got to get a new one
Bought all the baby stuff from ikea today to go out to my DH's month old car which some selfish knobhead wanker had gone straight in to the side of it and is now scraped from back to front
Then driving home someone pulled straight out on us so I slammed on the brakes so I didn't hit him so mum got a baby bath in the back of the head and the belt locked on my belly so I am now on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself.

Sorry that was really moaney and me so I will come back later in a better mood

DastardlyandSmuttily · 31/03/2011 19:30

OMG, its like a switch had been flicked today. I feel dreadful. Tired, nauseous, just... bleugh.

Brassica did I read correctly that you're expecting twins?

On second thoughts, I have NOTHING to complain about!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 31/03/2011 19:45

Oh gosh cowboy are you okay? Have you been checked out?

Eskarina · 31/03/2011 22:02

Congratulations D&S/30 I remember you from the days when I was lurking on the JS board but not yet daring to say hello. Hope the nausea and bleugh feeling doesn't last too long

Gosh Cowboy what a rotten day! Are you sure you're OK?

I'm sure I had something else to say. I'm completely totally and utterly knackered though so brain isn't working. I thought the second trimester was supposed to involve "blooming". Well apart from not feeling sick (and I'm very glad about that) I feel even more tired than before. I had a period of about 4 weeks when I felt good, weeks 14-18 and now at 20 I'm worn out. Have been having naps of at least an hour every day after work and sleeping well at night, then feeling like I could sleep anywhere and everywhere all day!

vallinnapod · 01/04/2011 10:07

Quick stress - scan at midday. Typically I am now completely stressing...haven't really felt any movement for about 36 hours (not, of course, that I am positive I have felt anything prior to this....) and the baby had been all over to the left for the past 24hrs...

Seriously...when will I relax?!

That's all, just had to get it out!

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 10:23

And breathe... valinnapod good luck for lunchtime, not long to go now! Is that your 20 week scan?

xx

vallinnapod · 01/04/2011 10:51

Nope, I have that at 22 weeks. We are having a private one today to break up the wait between 12 weeks and then and to find out the sex!

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 11:04

i'm feeling well rough today - already been moaning to GOML about spotting.
am getting paranoid, even though I know it must be fine.
I feel so sick and icky with a bad headache.

I deliberately used to not drink much so that i wouldn't get a hangover. Now i've not drunk anything for 11 days and i feel like i went on an all-night bender (yes, tired like that too)

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 11:10

What a GOML nickel? ooh I remember that hungover feeling, its a bugger. Just keep chanting, 'this too shall pass'.

Have you had spotting today? Unless its heavy bleeding and accompanied by waves of pain you should be ok, keep an eye on it though.

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 11:12

GetOrfMoiLand - it was on the MN meet-up thread.

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 11:13

not heavy (i hope it won't be)
just a little bit of watery red in my knickers, then a bit when I wiped.
nothing major at all.
no waves of pain, either. bit of a sotmach cramp but that was because i needed a poo. (i hope)

this is worse symptom spotting than in the ttc thread. :(

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 01/04/2011 11:28

Thats what I had at 9 weeks, couldn't find out reason for the bleed. Have had it twice subsequently and current thinking is that its probably cervical erosion (so cervix cells coming away in watery stuff). Sounds grim, but common and non-problematic.

You may well get 'knitting' pains where the cord/baby is starting to attach, believe me they hurt... don't believe any websites that say they don't!

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 11:47

i don't mind what pains i get as long as i don't get period-like blood etc.

vallinnapod · 01/04/2011 12:38

Try not to worry nickel (says the MASSIVE hypocrite!) I had two very big bleeds. Horrendous worry but all fine.

Well, we are team blue here! Almost didn't find out as umbilical cord in the way! Very healthy growth, everything bang on 50th percentile. As the sonographer said, the only time you want your child to be average ;) Even though it wasn't an abnormality scan she said that heart, stomach etc all looked fab. Huge relief, cannot wipe the Grin from my face!

nickelbabyhatcher · 01/04/2011 12:52

marvellous Grin
Wink

takethatlady · 01/04/2011 17:21

Awww congratulations on your boy vallinnapod :) Whoever said the symptom spotting is worse than ttc is right! My most frequent (really my only) conversation with the bump is to tell it to kick/thank it for kicking ... all I do is wonder how many hours it's been since the last kick, worry that kicks I've had are actually wind, etc ... it's ridiculous!

esk the tiredness has only just hit me at nearly 28 weeks. On Wednesday I worked from home. What I mean by that is I read Heart of Darkness (very short) and slept for about six hours on the couch. Then I had a full night's sleep. Then yesterday, after a day and a night of sleep, I drove to work and got here half an hour early, so thought I'd have a little kip in the car before I came in. I woke up an hour later, conked out over the handbrake Blush Grin

Then I drove home and went to sleep.

Today I have been working like a horse but I did nearly fall asleep at the wheel. Got to drive home again now.

Really sorry about the bleeding nickel. What a pain. Like others on this thread I too have had bleeding - at 15-16 weeks (and it went red/period like and a stupid woman at the delivery unit said horrible things to me on the phone about it which had me in floods of tears, having remained quite calm before that). Then I had it again at 22 weeks, and again a couple of weeks ago. I just try to ignore it now and to realise it's normal for me.

But the first time I ended up going to A&E where they scanned me. Then a few days later when it had got worse I went to the delivery unit (ignoring the woman on the phone) and they gave me a full exam and listened to the heartbeat. So if you're anxious, just go to the hospital. When you're there in person they're much more helpful, I think, than when you're on the phone and they can just fob you off. And it put my mind at rest.

I am going to a wedding tomorrow and I have a dress from ASOS which was a bargain but is horrible. Lovely purple strapless top, hideous floaty bottom bit. Wishing I had the skills to tuck it in. Wish I could drink too, as the bride and her family are boring teetotal and it would be fun to get a little bit plastered Grin

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 01/04/2011 18:17

ttl I'm off to a wedding tomorrow, although not the same one by the sound of it - suspect I will be the only sober adult there. Last time I went to a wedding while pregnant, I was amazed at the amount of standing around feeling slightly bored that went on; those are the bits that fizzy booze is made to mask.

Mmmmm, lovely fizzy booze [wistful]

Sorry to hear you're not happy with the dress. It's a bit of a minefield, occasion dressing while up the duff. I had to go on a whirlwind shopping trip with DH and DS in tow last weekend and ended up with this, which isn't strictly maternity wear but does have a useful elasticated panel at the front.

takethatlady · 01/04/2011 19:05

Oooh star I like that dress, though now people are gasping in horror at my bump I suspect it wouldn't fit!

Here is mine. It's okay but thry've added so mant flounces around the hips and arse it makes you look like you're pregnant all the way round. Oh well, five inch heels and a bad fake tan should sort me out Grin

takethatlady · 01/04/2011 19:06

PS - have a good time at your wedding! We can compare notes :)

Eskarina · 01/04/2011 20:41

Have a fab time at wedding parties TTL and Star. I do love that Joules dress...

I've been a bit more awake today, actually managed to do a tesco shop after work. But then I didn't have any energy to do any form exercise (I am the proud owner of pregnancy pilates and Davina which haven't been used yet!) so am still annoyed with myself especially as I had a post tesco doughnut treat

I'm getting acquainted with my local NCT branch tomorrow morning. I've volunteered to help at their sale so I can have first stab at the bargains meet some local members and get to know them. I went to one in a nearby town last week and it was an experience. I only got some reusable nappies, a birthing ball (which really baffled DH) and a couple of feeding tops, but I could have gone mad and got way more. I was a bit overwhelmed tbh as there was so much stuff that I can't believe I could possibly need...

vallinnapod · 01/04/2011 22:10

Ohhh I love a wedding. My bestie is getting married soon and I am slightly distraught that I won't be able to get drunk and embarrass myself Wink

Love your style Esk - great tactics! I've done no exercise for the past week so will got for a run tomorrow. It's just starting to get uncomfy but only to the extent it feels like I constantly need a wee while running!
