Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

I found having my bags packed for the hospital helped me to mentally relax about the thought of going in to hospital.

Really uncomfortable today and started to leak so went to the hospital for a check up to make sure my waters had not broken and turns out I have an infection and thrush so very lady like on the sofa with my leg draped over the back!!!

Snap: I love being on leave and thanks for the notes on the exercise stuff I will give some of that a try.

I know you you mean TTL as sometimes I find myself holding bump up as if I can help take the pressure off!

takethatlady · 22/03/2011 16:00

Sorry about the thrush and the leakage cowboy but glad it's not your waters breaking, and that you got it checked out! And thanks frak for the exercises. I promise to do them, I really do ...

Actually I think part of it was my under bump maternity jeans which I wore for the first time in ages yesterday. They're weird because they are stretching now to accommodate the bump (which I think was the sensation I wasn't used to) but they're still too big so they fall down too ... they're really annoying, too tight and too big at the same time!

A lady on the June thread had her baby yesterday! At just over 29 weeks! Apparently the baby weighed nearly 3lbs and is doing just fine, not needing much support from NICU - but it made me think I'd better get my arse in gear and get sorted!

coaaf it's always good to have a back-up plan :)

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 22/03/2011 16:03

cowboylover my sympathies about the thrush. I had it pretty much constantly from about 25 weeks, it was ghastly. Have they given you anything for it? I haunted my local chemists trying to persuade them to give me the pessary, but no dice Angry

Scan on Friday, woohoo. Although DH might not now be able to come due to his bastard work.

cowboylover · 22/03/2011 17:39

TTL: We have not had any yet from the May thread but I am sure it wont be long. When I was waiting last night there where 4 ladies come in in labour and it really makes me remember that it wont be long until that might be me!

aStar: They gave me a pessary and cream from the hospital but I find they are a lot more confident in giving me things rather than my GP. I am consultant lead care and GP always seams a little worried about doing anything without a 2nd opinion from them.

Bonus day today and I think if I can be bothered I will be going to celebrate with a shopping trip with my Mum tomorrow, I am in search of the perfect pair iof shoes and might take a peak at the Debenhams sale for something cute that the baby obviously must have Smile

takethatlady · 22/03/2011 17:48

Ooh cowboy I am jealous. Is there a John Lewis near you? Having spent ages trying to convince some annoyingly sexist relatives that I am not going to go overboard on the pink and don't want to be labelling the baby with big gender signs from the second she was born, I then walked into John Lewis and saw this gorgeous dress and couldn't resist Grin

here

It's prettier in person, despite the Shock price

Anyway, I never said I don't like pretty dresses :) I just said I didn't want a room full of pink princess stuff with 'daddy's little girl' written all over it and that I would be equally happy if she turned out to be a plumber or a footballer as something more stereotypically girly. I'm sure this dress is perfect plumber material Grin

takethatlady · 22/03/2011 17:49

In person? Hmm In real life. It's only a dress, after all!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 22/03/2011 17:54

cowboy apparently, according to the April thread, garlic up your fanjo gets rid of thrush. No judgement if you do or don't try it! It's also supposed to clear out group B strep.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 22/03/2011 18:00

Natural unsweetened yoghurt in the fanjo is good for thrush too. A bit cold though Grin

cowboylover · 22/03/2011 18:27

Yes going to Cardiff so John Lewis there is huge and I have not yet ventured into the baby section yet for fear of spending a fortune as I cant even walk past the beads or cushions without spending too much!

That dress is really cute and I also have a bit of an adversion to pink, I dont mind bright pink or hot pink and purple but I cant cope with 'baby pink'! Not really into the Mummys angel or Daddies little girl thing. I bought Tesco basic hats as they where the only ones I could find with no writing on.

Snap I got to say the garlic sounds a little scary but COAAF I have the yoghurt in the fridge in a sandwich bag with a note to DH 'DO NOT EAT!'

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 22/03/2011 18:58

Grin I had one of those last time round. In my parents fridge no less.

I'm ignoring TTL's dress. I've had to ignore several adorable little dresses in the past couple of months. If current bun comes out a boy I may get a few Hmm looks trying to get wear out of dresses Grin. My mantra in these situations is there will still be lots of cute clothes when current bun arrives.

vallinnapod · 22/03/2011 19:16

Free WIFI!! So just saying howdy! Sunny and lovely here. Lots of doing nothing for 23 hrs of the day and a gym session to make up for it!

Had a quick catch up. TTL, glad your student is getting the help she needs. Glad everyone else has the shopping bug!

Quick question, and I know it is really different for everyone, but when did you guys start to show? Obv bring semi naked for most of the day I am scrutinising my tummy lots. To me I just look lardy. No real bump. 16+2. when can I expect to actually look preggers? My guess is when I step off the plane next week and massively layer up again!!

Love to all xxx

Dynababy · 22/03/2011 19:57

Ouch Cowboy to infection and thrush, glad everything in tact for you though! Sure the doc would prescribe a pessary etc seen on the preg board that its OK. Hope it eases soon for you as I know its maddening!

TTL that wee dress is gorgeous!! I have to confess to really wanting a little girl! We're having a boy which is great but somehow find myself already hoping that in the future we'll have a girl and therefore have one of both... Blush. Getting waaaay too far ahead of myself!

After midwife getting all concerned about my premature swelling numerous migraines etc I have bitten the bullet and spoken to my boss about coming off call .. the midwife was rather Shock about my working hours and occasional full on 24 hours of work so talked some sense into me. I feel better just thinking about restful evenings, not too much to ask when your 5 months preg and worked all day??

After getting organised and picking stuff out and making private amazon wish list etc and getting the icandy price matched by John Lewis we still hadn't bout anything until Sunday .. (I'm 22+6 now so thought OK to start?). First purchase is a bedroom set from next ... animal abc! We got the bed in a bag, quilt, curtains and canvas so pretty much full thing, think it will make our spare room into a nursery without having to completely repaint! Its here

Glad you're having a good holiday Vallinna re the bump .. reckon I looked more than fat circa 21 weeks, before then just chunky now quite obvious its baby not pies!! Grin

cowboylover · 22/03/2011 22:27

Vanilla: I think it was Christmas time for me so about 21 weeks ish, I felt huge all the time but apparently still got a neat bump compared to others the same time as me.

For my May thread we measured around the middle and I am not 4ft and considering I am only 5ft 4inch tall I am wondering if I will get as round as I am tall!

Dyna: that set is really cute! Which ICandy are you going for?

BrassicaBabe · 23/03/2011 10:26

Trush! Angry I'd like to join in that moan! I had it quite a bit at the beginning and treated myself effectively. (I've been able to use the pessary. The pharmacist checked his Formulary and it is okay for pregnancy. Try a different chemist star? Or send someone else in for you!! Wink) But poor DH picked it up from me and it doesn't seem to be going despite using the cream and taking the over the counter tablet, twice. We moved to using condoms some time ago, but it's STILL not going. Any idea?! We're on an enforced sex drought for now because even the condom seems to aggrevate it! Sad Doubly Sad because I'm trying to get a decent amount of shaging in before I get too big for it to be comfortable!! Wink

The dress is lovely ttl I don't know what we're having, but I might get it for my sister who is due a fortnight before me! Grin

Envy for the sun, sea and sand vallinna I'm 22 weeks now and have been showing for maybe 2-3 weeks. But in some lights I still just look like a trough-er Grin

Sorry you've had to pull back a bit at work dyna. 'Tis for the best though as I'm sure you know.

Not much going on at my end of the world though....

takethatlady · 23/03/2011 10:41

Just wondering. Skin on or skin off if you use the garlic? Grin

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 23/03/2011 13:12

BB DH and I have had that same problem of sharing thrush. Dr recommended DH soak in a bath of salted water. It seemed to help too. I hate to say it, but cutting down on sugary foods (including alcohol) helps as well.

BrassicaBabe · 23/03/2011 14:02

Better that question ttl rather than "using a clove or a bulb?"! Grin

Thanks for the salted bath recommendation coaaf

takethatlady · 23/03/2011 14:03

PMSL bb. Apparently nan's next-door neighbours used to really smell odd, until it transpired that they thought a clove was a bulb. So if a recipe needed 3 cloves they'd put in three bulbs Grin

cowboylover · 23/03/2011 22:40

BrassicaBabe : My DH had it a few years back and it took ages to clear up. The doc prescribed some cream different to what you can buy and that helped at last.

BrassicaBabe · 24/03/2011 10:07

Thanks cowboy. I also fear he needs to go to the docs. Not something these men are good at! Grin

I need a bit of a rant! I'm sick and tired of people only talking about the fecking pregnancy! We live v v close to DH family. It's like I've turned into a fecking incubator. A fulfilling career and other life time achievments are irrelevant now that I'm pregnant. I'm sorry, but it's no great achievment is it?! So many 16 year olds manage to get knocked up. Yes, we had sex. Ok, we worked quite hard at getting pregnant in the end. But it was simply biology. Even being asked how I am pisses me off. They ask in that daft simpathetic, head tilted to one side kind of way. I always answer that I'm fine in a "why wouldn't I be" kind of way. Then they ask again, "no really, how are you". "I'm fecking fine!" Pregnant, not dying! I can still work. I can still drive and I still lift things heavier than a paperweight. No, I don't want to talk about breastfeeding, buying nappies or my choice of cots. Dull, dull, dull. Really, it's a great thing we are having babies, but there are other things going on in the world. No, I don't need "luck" before going for a scan. "Luck" changes nothing. What will be, will be.

And breathe!

I am clearly an ungrateful bint! Blush

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 24/03/2011 10:18

Thrusts cake and Wine at BB tells her, I pulled a massive ingrown hair out of my leg this morning, then runs away.

Grin
takethatlady · 24/03/2011 12:01

Grin confessions that sounds painful.

bb I only get annoyed when people don't just assume I can't do ordinary things because I'm pregnant (isn't it just binge drinking and bungee jumping? Grin) but then, when I say, 'yes I can lift the kettle to make a cup of tea' or 'yes, I am still going to work' or 'yes I feel completely fine thanks' they try to convince me that I am not capable of these things and that I am putting the baby in danger by doing them. Which annoys me because it's like everyone thinks they're social services for my unborn child and that I am some sort of negligent mother for daring to breathe ordinary air ...

Thankfully this doesn't happen all the time, otherwise I'd be Angry like you!

I just tell myself they're just showing interest and don't mean to patronise (and sometimes they're right - someone in a white van tried to run me off the road the other day after I stuck my finger up at him in my wing mirror. it was 100% his fault but maybe I should start being a bit more sensible now I'm nearly a mother Blush).

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 24/03/2011 12:32

Nah it's not to bad (and wasn't the biggest I've ever pulled out), it was just the first non baby related thing that came to mind (being that I pulled it out right before reading BB's rant).

BrassicaBabe · 24/03/2011 13:05

Ok. I've clamed down now! I find picking out ingrown hairs quite satisfying coaaf Grin

I like the baby talk we have here. I just don't like being defined by the pregnancy.

In other baby news Wink DH felt the baby move for the first time yesterday!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 24/03/2011 13:15

I wish my family would pay more attention to the fact we're expecting. It gets rather ignored Hmm

And I used the 'i'm pregnant not ill' line too much early on. Everyone now thinks I'm superwoman but I just want to lie down and gestate' for a bit!

Ingrown hairs are satisfying to get rid of Grin Is it wrong I still remember the monster I extracted from my bikini line a couple of years ago with pride?!
