Calling The Viroids - Just Shagging Graduates!

Just thought I'd start a thread for all those JS graduates, whether a newbie graduate or even if you left us a while ago and are well on your way. Would be good for us to keep in touch, see if we're all staying 'sane'. Grin

Don't know about you ladies, but I am still filled with the overwhelming urge to PIAR (that's POAS for all you older graduates - after you left us we went a little mad and started harnessing the power of the ramekin!) I think once you start the habit it doesn't leave you!

Well, it's good to know that the Just Shagging method works. Even if we did once in a while just cheat a teeny tiny little bit! Wink

Browsing maternity clothes (again), although still not bought anything. Is anyone else slightly freaked out by t-shirts with scan photos on? Hmm

takethatlady · 04/02/2011 11:07

Shock! T-shirts with scan photos on? Biscuit

wahey vallinna, the mini-pod is thriving! Congratulations - you've made it past all the most dangerous times and having a scan at this point and seeing a healthy little blob is such amazing news. Thrilled to bits :)

Congrats to you too cowboylover - I can't believe you're 25 weeks already! Who's the first one to burst again? Is it frak?

I almost just had to do a two-hour seminar with no make-up on as I couldn't find my make-up bag before I left home this morning. Got here at ten to nine, booted up my stupid computer whose display I had somehow turned upside down - it took me five minutes to work out how to turn it back the right way, printed off my notes, ran to the campus shop which sells make-up, realised I'd forgotten my purse (now it was five past nine), ran back to my office, ran back to the shop, bought the make-up and hid in a photo booth to put it on. Phew! Made it to my class 15 minutes late though Biscuit

I realise I am sad, but really, the pregnancy spots and the bags under my eyes are just too much to inflict on a bunch of hungover 20-year-olds who've just ploughed their way through Balzac Grin Anyone else looking like a sack of shit these days, or is it just me?!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 04/02/2011 11:19

I think I am first to go but not for at the very least 6 weeks! Possible CS 2 months today though Shock

So glad to hear minipod is doing well.

No achey fanjo here - it sounds incredibly painful. No sex dreams either. No sex full stop actually. I feel like I should be arsed but I can't be! I reckon on the basis of that and my random aggression I'm having a boy. Time will tell... Bad mood is definitely a pg symptom BBas I've been foul the whole way through.

In other news I hate phonetics, especially when I have the attention span of a flea!

takethatlady · 04/02/2011 11:52

How exciting - 6-8 weeks to go :)

I'm constantly randy but feeling too tired to bother, too. It's a struggle just getting through the day at the moment!

takethatlady · 04/02/2011 11:52

Ha ha! Why do you hate phonetics?!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 04/02/2011 11:58

Cos I have a phonemic transciption to do and can't concentrate on it. If I can't do it I can't get any further with identifying the problems which are causing communication difficulties in academicspeak and therefore can't fix them which supposedly is the point of the whole thing.

But really I'm just sat there thinking that it's not that bad and there are about 2 things which need work. The real problem is intonation and word stress but they're hung up on bloody phonetics.

takethatlady · 04/02/2011 11:59

Woah that sounds complicated and hard. Do what I do in these situations, and google random pregnancy-related illness or pushchair reviews instead, and forget about work. Or eat. Eating is my new diversion.

Good luck with it!

milanomum · 04/02/2011 13:44

Vallinna great news on scan! sounds like things are going wonderfully!

TTL achey fanjo - me too! sometimes I feel like there's something inside, like a lost tampon string or something - I know there isn't BTW Blush and sometimes i get really sharp pains in ...well... the mound, just above the forest, which I am hoping is just baldder or stretching muscles or a nerve...or something. Don't actually think it's anything serious, just annoying.

Frakkle whatcha do again? I have to do loads of phonetics with my teaching to try to get the Italians to lose the accent "yoooo 'av laavlyy ice" (geddit?)

I also have random and raunchy dreams and have recently been suffering from insommnia waking up at 3am and just not being able to get back to sleep. What's that about?! Shouldn't I be exhausted or something?

I got test results back on Wed and all is well so am now beginning to relax and have 'come out' at work which means I can wear the other half of my wardrobe again to show off the bump! Will soon be looking a mat clothes online for the summer...no scan t-shirts though. Confused

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 04/02/2011 13:59

I teach English to university students and pretend to research Applied Linguistics.

BrassicaBabe · 04/02/2011 14:03

I want raunchy dreams instead of muderous mood pg symptoms that won't leave me. (I could merrily bury DH under the patio and I've no idea why Confused)

Oh, and I feel fat with no clothes that look half decent and only feel comfortable in grotty tracky bottoms Angry

And I want crisps. But there are no crisps in the house on purpose.

I work with lots of Germans. Apparently they have difficulty saying words like "squirrel" and "wardrobe". I'm forever plotting on how I get get "squirrel" and "wardrobe" into a business meeting. (Working in IT, it's not easy! Grin)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/02/2011 14:21

Cowboy I'm in Cent Scotland. Apparently it was worse over on the west coast. Think all the trees on the hill behind us make the wind sound even worse. Brr good excuse to stay inside with the fire on.

Ohh just saw this Wine

WineWineWineWine...Wine Sounds like a good (non-pg) night to me Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/02/2011 14:22

Passes BB a Wine maybe it's withdrawl symptoms?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/02/2011 14:26

Grin at plotting a squirrel mid meeting. all I have to do is talk about jandels and ask how are you going and people get confused. Tis so easy Smile

vallinnapod · 04/02/2011 15:16

I cannot get enough of inhaling red wine! It has to be a really heavy red! They only thing getting me through not drinking. I have used the excuse with crisps etc that baby wants them. Baby REALLY wants red wine, a clear indication the clinic put the right one back Wink Not sure imbibing would be as acceptable as the 6 packets of crisps in one sitting (yes, last Sunday)

After all this talk of achy fanjos mine started giving me some gyp this morning! Reckon it was feeling left out! I have had odd stabbing pains both 'in the mound' a la milano and to my lefthand side. Nurse reckons it's ligaments stretching (to accommodate crisps, clearly...)

cowboylover · 05/02/2011 17:40

Scan tshirts??!
I think that's a little freakey, I went to a baby shower with a scan pic on the cake with pink cake for a girl and I couldnt eat it, and that's just not like me and cake

Dynababy · 06/02/2011 11:09

Ahhh glad its not just me with the achey Fanjo!! Not that I'm wishinm achey Fanjos on lovely viroids but nice to know I'm not a freak! Grin I had my 16 week appt earlier this week and asked the midwife about it ..she just said to expect lots more strange aches and pains - not in the slightest bit concerned which made me feel better!!

BB t-shirts with scans ... who would think this was a great fashion move!!?? Hmm On your gortty trackie bottoms I'd highy recommend bitingt the bullet and buying some maternity jeans and trousers .. I'm so comfy and feel a lot better since getting them - nothing like clothes being tight to make your confidence nose dive!!

I went browsing baby gear yesterday as just cant wait to start buying stuff (but still making myself wait until after 20 week scan...). Anyone picked their pushchair? I'm currently fancying the i candy peach or silver cross surf - I just had a wee go. Also looked at bugaboo cam but seemed low to ground (me and DH quite tall).. What you all looking at are or is everyone way more retrained than I am!!?

Oh and I'm dying for lots of Wine now sickeness has disapered feel like the world is taunting me!! Sad

takethatlady · 06/02/2011 11:34

Grin nomore. I've got a meeting on Tuesday and I'm going to use the word squirrel if it kills me now :)

This new picture is torture!: Wine. Having not put on any weight for ages I suddenly put on half a stone in just over a week Shock!!! And I'm sure it's because I can't drink wine, smelling it isn't enough, and I'm substituting with chocolate and takeaway. I. Want. Wine.

dynababy I have finally settled on the Bugaboo Bee which I have found some deals on online (£409 on Pramworld instead of £479 at Mothercare, and Mothercare will price match, give you a £10 voucher because they were more expensive in the first place, and I can use a £50 giftcard I have for them, bringing it all down to £350). We really didn't want to spend that match but it's so teeny-tiny and manouvreable compared to the others, and it'll be titchy in our tiny boot and in our little house which is important. Can't wait to get it - 20 week scan tomorrow yip yip!! Feeling the baby kick every now and again now, though it seems to wake up at night. Considering it wants wine and starts dancing about in my belly at around 11pm I think it's going to be a party animal :)

I am still at the stage where my normal jeans fit but poke right into my belly and cause me grief all day, but my maternity jeans fall down. So I'm either walking about grimacing with bits of random flab forced out all over the place, or I'm in constant fear of flashing my arse to the world. Neither is a good look Grin

takethatlady · 06/02/2011 11:35

that much, not that match. DH's excitement about Chelsea-Liverpool later is obviously rubbing off!

Eskarina · 06/02/2011 11:38

Hi all, still here hanging on. MS (well, all-day S actually) seems to have got worse in the week since the 12-week scan Confused and am spending most of my time either at work or asleep. But I'm reading and lurking when I can.

Dyna I've been ogling prams since before we were officially ttc Blush. Don't really know what I want though. Have my eye on the new bugaboo bee. I thought I wanted something with a proper carrycot but it seems they're only used for such a short time, and I'd quite like to give a sling a go in the first few months anyway...

Hope everyone else is OK

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 06/02/2011 12:07

Pramwise we're getting a baby jogger city mini - 1 handed fold is essential for travelling, comes with a carrycot if you want and has a good big hood for shade. I also have 3 slings Grin

Going to be putting my final order of all the baby stuff in soon, which feels v late as I'm now 30 weeks! Scary to think that in 2 months I could well have had the baby....

cowboylover · 06/02/2011 18:12

Dyna: I said the same and celebrated finding out we where having a baby girl by going out and getting some very cute clothes but got to stop shopping as she has already got more clothes than DH- that doesnt take a lot but still!

I found pram shopping really hard and got totally baffled by what I needed or didnt, reading sooo many reviews and how much money is too much ect.. Was looking at the iCandy Apple but so expensive and a little heavy so went for the Norton Storm which I cam really pleased with now I have made the decision. I do have to admit a shofty moment when DH was 'test driving' it around the shop Blush

Snap I am starting to feel the same as we have looked but not bought much and the 'nursery' is still the laundry room!

I have been gagging for wine and had half a glass of Rose with by birthday meal last night and it was the best I have ever tasted and had to be careful not to do a Harry and Sally Wine

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/02/2011 21:18

Grin snigger snigger at Cowboy's wine reaction.

I had a most bizarre dream the other night. I woke up and had managed to get my 'come knock me up' pushup bra on in my sleep. Then I woke up and realised that was a dream. Then I realised I was still a sleep and had dreamt about waking up.

takethatlady · 06/02/2011 21:29

nmcb I just went to see Black Swan and your dream sounds scarily and weirdly like the film ... wish I could have a Wine now to calm me down. The film was crazy! (And it had its own Harry/Sally moment dyna, so you'd better steer clear Grin)

vallinnapod · 07/02/2011 09:22

Is it wrong I have done more pushchair research than birth research?! I think we are going for an Uppababy Vista. I like Bugaboos but agree with the comment that they are very low for us tallies (5'7", DH 6'2") I especially love the Bee as we are in London so it is perfect for shops/buses etc - but they are even lower that the Chameleon and I think toddlers seem to look very large in them.

TTL - GL with the scan today! Are you finding out if it is pink or blue??

Had some more spotting on Saturday but only lasted until Sunday morning - still, no good for the blood pressure!

I am having terrible hunger at the moment. Mainly for meat. I seriously cannot get enough!

BrassicaBabe · 07/02/2011 09:50

morning lovelies

vallinna you are not alone in doing more pushchair research than birth research. I am staying well clear of anything pregnancy or birth related and only googling things as they come up. You are eating my meat allowance too! Wink I've gone right off it.

takethat was Black Swan any good?

Has anyone been to Kidicare in Peterborough? Do they have ALL the pushchair ranges in the showroom?

Can anyone tell me what the midwife does at the 16 week appointment? I tried to book an appointment today and can't get booked in until 18 weeks Hmm What am I missing? Anything important or more daft advice about eating and form filling?

Sorry you've been feeling shit esk.

Wearing my bump band for the first time today! My jeans still pretty much fit, although they are getting uncomfortable. But I can't do the button up on my posh work trousers. So on with the band. There is some lovely maternity stuff around, but I just can't bring myself to part with any cash for things oddly Grin

Yeah for 10 week count down frak
