Lizzylou · 31/08/2005 19:35

Hi all, had the scan...all is going along fine...was so relieved I burst into tears!!! Got great view of the baby and had my midwives appt with the trainee midwife (she is now fully fledged) who assisted during the birth of my DS, she was lovely so was pleased to see her again.

Lovely to see your scan pic Munz...I am still 06/03/06....which is another spooky date!
Off to eat my takeaway curry

oldfool · 31/08/2005 20:11

Hello all. Hope you are all OK in this heat. I was touched that so many of you had asked after me.

Went to bed Monday night with period-type pains and got up at midnight to oceans of blood. DH dashed me up to A&E and they kept me in. Got a slot in the emergency operations list and got a D&C at 12.30. Home at 6.30pm. Kids were very concerned that I was in hospital and keep asking why. DH told them I had an infection but they're not buying it.

Stayed off work today and was going to go in tomorrow but after a brief trip round Asda realised I'm not quite well enough for a full day at work. Difficulty will be explaining why I've been off, as I hadn't told anyone I was pg and I don't really want them to know now.

poppyh · 31/08/2005 20:17

OF
So sorry to hear your news.A similar thing happened to me in May and my 11 yr old son wasnt buying my excuses as to why I was in hospital either. Its very hard coping with whats happening and still being strong for the kids.
Hope you feel a bit better soon.x

desperatehousewife · 31/08/2005 22:03

oldfool - i am so so sorry you are having to go through this. You sound very pragmatic and together. I hope you are alright and taking care of yourself. Thinking of you

Aww so sorry to hear OF, I was really hoping it would be ok.

I plucked up the courage and told my Mum yesterday! She wasn't as negative as I thought she might be although I did get the 'how on earth are you going to cope with 3 under 5?' lecture - but she soon moved onto 'I think you will have a girl' and then started choosing names! She said I have to have a hippy name..........which somehow turned into if you can't cope you could always put it on ebay which then turned into calling the baby Ebay!! Was a very bizarre conversation!! But at least it's done and she's off to tell the rest of the family so job done! Got my docs appt tomorrow - can't believe I haven't even seen a doc yet lol getting nervous - once I've seen the doc it's all 'real'!

Lizzylou · 01/09/2005 11:07

HI all,
So sorry to hear your news OF...thinking of you and your family, hope you can get some rest and time off work xxx

Congrats PoppyH!
I loved the scan, made it seem "real" and was lovely to see baby whizzing away!
Good luck with telling DS...how old is he?

munz · 01/09/2005 11:46

My Ds is 11.When I told him I was pg last time he said we were disgusting for having sex!!
He loves his little sister though and is brill with her so im sure he will be happyish!!

Lizzylou · 01/09/2005 11:50

My Ds didn't at his scans....it just depends on the timing...you could really clearly see Babies hands and fingers, I think they had a new machine cos it was all much clearer than I remember before and true to form the actual photos aren't nearly as good as the little "show" we had!!!

Lizzylou · 01/09/2005 11:51

LOL PoppyH!!!! Hilarious!

RosiePosie · 01/09/2005 12:25

I'm really sorry, OF - what else can I say? Rest up and take a few days off work - just tell them it's for personal reasons.

Good news, Poppyh. Munz, baby's characters begin in the womb, in my experience. DS was very active, wriggling and kicking, having hiccups - and has been an incredibly active baby and child. DD was much calmer in the womb and has proved to be out of too.

munz · 01/09/2005 13:13

think everything's pointing to this being a girl for us, got a feelin it will be - don't mind thou cos i'd love a pheobe!
