I am delighted to announce the birth of Samuel, he was born 9 days early on the 18th Jan.

Really good birth experience. Our first baby was induced at 40+2 and was a fast birth (less than 2 hours) but the contractions were much much more painful. This one started with very mild cramping at about 2am, phoned the hospital about 3am when the contractions were about 10-15 seconds every few minutes ... didn't know whether it was real labour or not as the contractions weren't very strong.

Arrived at the hospital about 3.30am and was strapped to a monitor to check to see if I was in labour and after about 10 minutes my waters broke and they checked and I was 7 cm dilated! We were so surprised! I used gas/air for about 20 mins after that then I had the pushing sensation and 30 mins later our second son was born, weighing in at 8lbs (2lbs heavier than our first!).

It was such a good experience and obviously we are delighted to have our healthy baby boy.

Crikey - maybe you should go for a home birth for number three! Congratulations.
