Baby 'whensmydayoff' has arrived early

Baby Olivia was born (VBAC )on 15 Decemeber 09. At 36.6 weeks gestation - exactly the same as DS .

Everything was the same to a point, waters broke middle of night when going for a wee. DS was different as I started to bleed due to placenta still covering OS slightly so was emerg C section that morning.

DD - waters broke at 36.3 and after 3 days of no sleep and not dilating I was put on drip (very low due to previous CS) and 4 hours and an amazing mobile epidural later I managed to push her out before the doc returned with the forceps!! Nothing like a bit of last minute will power !

She was 6lb, full head of black hair, big blue eyes and (IMHO) very cute.

I was more elated at hearing - your 10cm dilated - than IT's a girl!!

I was sooooo desperate to have a natural birth and when I was not dilating at all they kept warning me it was a possibility and I almost gave up hope. Im glad I took the epidural in the end as the exhaustion was making me give in. At least when it went in I was able to lie down and relax and concentrate on getting her out.

It wasn't easy trying to breathe through contractions with a drip in one hand (IV antibiotics as they found group B) and constant monitering as mobile one was broken and they needed to moniter her due to last CS, waters braking so long before and group B.

Anyway, was absolutely amazing all the same as is she.

DS (2.7)thinks she is a puppy I think. He just want to clap her head !!

That's a lovely story. Made me smile.

Congratulations and welcome Olivia.

mama2moo · 30/12/2009 18:44

Congratulations, lovely name

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 30/12/2009 18:46

Congrats!

When are you having number 3?

I had a son by emergency section then a girl by vbac and then another boy by vbac...

mumoverseas · 02/01/2010 12:59

congratulations. Lovely name, its my DDs middle name x

whensmydayoff · 03/01/2010 15:14

Thank everyone.

fab weirdly, I keep wondering if I will have a third .
How strange. My DD isnt even 3 weeks old and I cant stop wondering - is this my last? Would I be mad and pushing my luck after nightmare PG and birth with DS?

FFS, Im getting no sleep and although im breast feeding - I hate every second of it and yet im pondering what car i would need for 3 - ha!

Funny, for some reason Id imagined myself having a boy, then girl then boy too!!

How do you find 3 and what age are they?

Congratulations

Beautiful name, i have an Olivia too

PacificDogwood · 03/01/2010 15:19

Congratulations, both on the safe arrival of baby Olivia (cute!) and your successful VBAC !!

I have 3 boys, aged almost 7, almost 6 and 21 months; born after induction, emCS due to placenta praevia at 31 weeks and VBAC .
Currently expecting DS4 and hoping to have another VBAC in the spring....
Having 3 has been great, but I just like the symmetry of an even number - and, no, there will NOT be a number 5 and 6.

Enjoy your little girl!

mumoverseas · 03/01/2010 16:08

4 boys Is it wise to stop there? May as well at least have one more for the 5 a side team
I was going to stop after two. Then had two more. DC 4 was however a total shock. I'm the daft woman that went to the gp aged 41 saying the menopause had arrived as my periods had stopped. err, no

PacificDogwood · 03/01/2010 16:50

mumoverseas, DS4 is due 4 weeks before my 44th birthday, so any further DCs are NOT anywhere in my future plans ...

And with daddy they can already provide a 5-a-side team .

Pacific and mum I know what you mean, 4 is a more even number.
It's funny, before children I remember my neighbour moving in next door with 3 children and I thought, OMG, who would have 3 children??? Who could be arsed with that?!
Now I hear someone like yourself has 4 (or nearly 4) and think ooh how lucky is she!!

I don't think I have enough energy for 4 though!

There is no logic to having kids, is there?

But when you're done, you know you are done, and I know!!

Enjoy your LO, whensmydayoff!
