The baby nearly arrived in the toilet.

I've read about babies being born in the loo but I never thought it would nearly happen to my baby.

On Sunday 1st November I was taken in and started off because my waters had been leaking.
The midwife used a gel at about 10.pm and then put on the monitor for an hour. At 11pm I went into the dayroom for an hour to watch tv, at midnight I got back to my room I was there 2 minutes and my waters broke, my husband came back to the hospital at 12.45am and I was 3cm then, I had the tens machine, we went for a walk, had some gas and air then I was 5cm, walked down to the birthing room and sat on a birthing ball. I had a shot of Diamorphine, stayed on the birthing ball for ages with the gas and air, DH rubbing my back. then about 5am the midwife suggested I have a wee, I was in there for 20 minutes with the tap running and I could not wee. Then all of a sudden I couldn't stop myself pushing, I called to the midwife who helped me to the bed, by that time my baby's head was nearly out, a couple of pushes and she was out, I had no stitches and she latched on and was feeding 30 minutes later.

The midwife said after the birth that she was going to check how far along I was at 6am.
Kyla was born at 5.28am 7lb 7oz, she is now 7 weeks old feeding and growing really well and already weighs 10lb 4oz.
If DS's labour was like that I wouldn't have been so worried about getting pregnant again.
