Ds is 'nearly new'

I didnt get round to putting his birth in the local paper so I just wanted to announce it here even though he's 6 weeks old tomorrow (DD is 15 months so I'm a bit busy!)
He was 9 days early (dd was 10 days late) so wasn't expecting it. I was 8cm dilated when the midwife arrived at 7:30pm (for a planned home birth) and after going through absolutle hell with dd, my experience of home birth was fantastic! Ds was born at 10:30pm and we were all tucked up in bed by 2am.

brilliant news - inspiring to all of us hopeful pregnant women who are aiming for a home birth. Well done. Hope you are getting loads of sleep....

smartie · 21/05/2003 09:29

Well done ames, congratulations to all of you. Your experience sounds lovely.

kaz33 · 21/05/2003 09:33

Love hearing great second birth stories. Congrulations, I am impressed only 15 months between them - that is impressive.

alibubbles · 21/05/2003 09:41

Congrats, I have only 13 months between my two, it's easier than everyone else thinks - you just get on with it!

Sleep when they sleep. take toddler, book, biscuits and drink and lie down on your bed when you feed during the day, amazing how the older one will often have a nap then ( it worked for me)

Enjoy your toddler, DD will grow up really fast now!

Congratulations. I was wondering where you were but that answers the question.

boogs · 21/05/2003 19:55

Big Congratulations!!!!
You've given me new hope after watching my sister give birth in water on Saturday. It looked worse than I remembered and did put me off a bit, but after reading your post I feel differently.
Well done and Welcome to little ds!

ames · 23/05/2003 22:35

Thanks everyone forgot to mention ds is Samuel (after about 3 days of being called baby) and he weighed 7lb 2. It was feeling a bit of a non event no-one seemed particurly bothered so you've cheered me up - I think people are bored of me having babies.
