Baby Sonny. Born last night at 10.55pm weighing in at 5lb 10.5oz.

He is my sister in laws and brothers new little son and just wanted him to have a mumsnet welcome so that I can print the thread of to show her later!

SIL had some trouble with a trapped nerve in her back during the pregnancy due to the way the baby was lying. Since the birth she can hardly move - is this normal? Will it just be because of the birth and should get back to normal? I hope so!

welcome Sonny - great news.
Don?t know about bad back nerve pain but had my sciatic nerve trapped during labour of No2. It was horrendous pain and left me with nerve damage for over 2 months - numb tingly all down one leg and inside of foot. My leg even seemed to drag a little when I was tired. Got better slowly on its own. Nurofen seemed to be the best pain killer for nerve pain, on GPs advice. After labour it could be combination of muscular pain as well complicating it all so hopefully she will feel brighter soon. Keep pestering the GP if it lingers around.
