Lucy99's birth announcement!

The day after her due date our gorgeous daughter Freya Grace made an appearance at 4.11pm weighing 8lbs 4oz.
Got up at 8.30 and my waters broke, started getting mild contractions within an hour. After another hour mild contractions were a lot less mild and coming every five mins so called a mini cab to the hospital. Was examined at 12 and was 3 cms and midwife said she would check me again at 4. By one the contractions were really strong and only a couple of minutes apart so asked for a low dose epidural, anaesthatist in a meeting so told it would be an hour or so. Gave in and had pethidine to tide me over! Examined at 2 as still coming thick and fast and was fully dilated! Begged midwife to still let me have epidural as was terrified of pushing without! Amazingly she agreed so had epi at 2.30 and started pushing at 3. Certainly didn't feel like I had one when her head finally appeared an hour or so later!!! My DH and mum were both there and it was an amazing moment when we all saw her for the first time. She has had a bit of jaundice so had to stay in for 2 nights but we are home now and blissfully happy! She is so far incredibly calm and peaceful and me and her daddy are totally in love with her...
