thought i'd better officially announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy!
cosmo samuel gaunt was born 8.45pm 9th march weighing in at 7lb 12oz (3.51kg).
long labour of 24hrs i finally managed to give birth to him squatting with my dp behind me and midwife in front holding on to my arms. i had a mobile epidural after 14 hours of slow progress and then let it wear off for the last bit. i had been very against any pain relief and held off but had to trust the consultant and midwiife in the end. they said that my cervix wasn't thinning but it turnerd out that it was a cyst and cons was able to push it round cosmos head thank god, coz they were then tallking about a c section. i had gone to this hospital, jon and elizabeths specially coz of its active birth philosophy. any how all was really well in the end. it was simply the most amazing euphoric moment of my and my dps life. utter utter jubilation and tremendously moving. and no tears! that is in the wotsit though plenty in the eyes......
