Belgo's baby boy:-)

His name is on my profile, so far it's provoked a strong reaction . He weighed 8 lb 7 oz at birth, more then a pound bigger then my other babies.

He was born 11 days ago at 4am, after a seven hour labour, at home in the birthing pool, with a lovely midwife in attendance. It was painful (they don't give gas & air or pethidine during labour in Belgium), but it was definitely the easiest birth of the three. I held him immediately and that was just the most wonderful moment. DD1 and DD2 slept through the whole drama, awaking at 5.30am to find me cuddling their new brother.

I lost a large amount of blood after the birth but fortunately the midwives knew what to do. Only now am I starting to feel a bit recovered.

Breastfeeding has been difficult, especially when I developed mastitis and I've been taking antibiotics. DS is feeding well and putting on weight, he's so far a very calm baby.

Thank you to everyone who has already wished me congratulations

belgo · 25/10/2008 13:06

Thank you everyone. DD1 has a 'flowery' name that's the same in flemish and english. DD2 has a traditional germanic/flemish name name.
