Hugo (no second name yet as we can't decide) was born at 8.19am on Monday 31 January weighing 7lb 4oz. He is gorgeous with lots of dark hair and we love him dearly.
Labour started around 8.45pm on Sunday and was progressing well at home (as planned) until about midnight when it became clear that Hugo had turned posterior. I struggled on with horrendous backache on gas and air (which did nothing for me) until 4.45am when I decided to go into hospital for something a little stronger as I'd only reached 4cm. Had pethidine on arrival, but couldn't have an epidural as there'd been an RTA and by the time the anaesthetist was free it was time to push. Had no urge to push but did as I was told (eventually - only remember little bits from when I had the pethidine and I seemed to be behaving quite badly!) and got Hugo out. Quite sore afterwards as I had a second degree tear as he had his hand up on exit. All seems a long time ago now!
