Hello all,
Just to let you know that I am now a proud mummy to James who eventually arrived on Saturday 05/07/08 . Latent labour started on Tues evening and went to hospital on Weds but only 1cm dilated. Stayed on day ward until 7pm, had 3 internals during the day and went home at 3-4cms dilated. Went back on Friday lunchtime - no change so sent home. Went back Friday evening in agony & strapped to TENS - given temazepam & sent home! Went back at 10.30pm where I was 9cms, so the lovely midwives prepared the birthing pool for me. Pushed for 3 hours & catheterised - nothing, so had to get out. Staggered up to delivery suite, sat on birthing stool, got on bed, put on drip, nothing. 3 goes at ventouse, then finally at 6am, threatened with c-section if I couldn't get him out in the next 15 mins, so was catheterised again, managed to poop myself, had an episiotomy and James popped out with final go of ventouse. Thought my eyes were going to pop! Apparently James tried to get his head and a shoulder out at the same time and the staff said that I was the first to manage that type of birth without having a c-section. Now all the pain is forgotten, but the piles remain!
