DuchessofNorks hatch report

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 28/05/2008 21:07

Following from lovely chicks hatching at home on Wednesday & Thursday, I hatched DC4 at home on Sunday.

Waters broke at 6.30ish whilst feeding the horses, more waters at 7.30ish and even more at 8.30ish. But no contractions. Had a boring evening waiting and hanging around on MN before finally getting first contraction at 10 mins to 11pm. Had ooh, at least 15 contractions before baby boy was born in the DukeOfNorks bath at 2 minutes to midnight. Archard (poncetastic) or Archie to his mates, weighed 8lb 2oz (the lightest of the 4) and sleeps A LOT. Not feeding very often but enough to make my nipples hurt worse than labour. Afterpains were bloody terrible but easing off now.

This is our last baby. Four is enough for us. And I shall be forever thankful that I have had 4 good births without doctors, surgeons, anaesthetists, interventions, stitches or drugs. I am a lucky girl (with a pelvis like a basketball hoop).
