Lucy Elizabeth Kathryn was born yesterday morning at 11.57.
Those of you who saw my waters and induction threads will remember I had a waters leak on Monday evening and was told to come back Wed morning to be induced. Well Lucy had her own ideas and labour started during the night Tues. We arrived at the delivery suite at 6am Wed morning and surprise surprise contractions virtually stopped the minute they hooked me up to the continuous monitor. Thanks to a fab midwife I was able to stand up adn walk around while being monitored and by 11am was 6cm and had my waters broken. It then went bonkers and within 20 mins I had got to the pushing stage which only took 17 minutes.
Delivered baby relatively easily, although it bloody hurts doesn't it?
I am so chuffed to do it all on gas and air and to avoid the ventouse I needed with ds. We are both so well, she's much more fit and alert and feeding much better than ds did at this stage and I feel virtually normal.
So together we avoided induction, epidural, ventouse and luckily neither of us has an infection after the waters breaking.
All in all a very happy birth.
