Gender reveal present etiquette

I've been invited to a friend's gender reveal party next weekend. This isn't something I did with my 2 DC so I'm not sure of the etiquette regarding presents. This friend will most certainly be having a baby shower also.

My question is, when do we buy and give a present? I'd like to take baby something when they're born and I guess I'll also buy for the baby shower but is it also standard to buy for a gender reveal?

I've never been to one but wouldn't think baby presents were necessary as I'd expect that would be at the baby shower (and they would want stereotypical blue/pink presents)

As it's a party I'd possibly take a small token for the host like flowers or a food item but wouldn't do a baby present.

Maybe take something small for the gender reveal party. Perhaps it doesn't have to be baby related as you don't even know the gender yet. For the baby shower and when you meet the baby, you can buy baby stuff and that is enough and lovely. Might want to ask what they'd especially like as a lot of the time you get doubles.
