A friend of mine has decided against a baby shower so I’m meeting her in a couple of weeks and would like to take her a gift. So wanted some ideas?

also would you recommend taking her for lunch or taking a afternoon tea to her house? (If afternoon tea then what could I take?)

I'd take her out for lunch. Chances are, she decided against babyshower because she didn't want to stress over preparations and stuff. By dropping by you could possibly put some pressure on her (not to say you absolutely would, I'm just saying she might feel obliged to clean the house, cook something etc). Getting her a gift card to a store where she could buy items necessary for the baby sounds like a safe thing to do. If you're good friends and you have some pictures of her, you can make a funny baby shower type video with her photos and email it to her earlier that day.

What about making a gift hamper? Some necessities like nappies, wipes, couple of outfits, a teddy bear. Maybe one for mum too like snacks, bath set, maybe a personalised gift etc?
