had a beautiful baby boy at 2.02am tuesday 19th feb, named Oscar Campion James Hart.

and what a job i had getting him into the world.
i was 2 weeks over and was induced on mon at 1pm. by 3 i was in labour and in agony, was given a pethidine injection which did nothing to releive the pain by 8 i was moved to the delivery suite and by midnight i was fully dilated, ready to push and was thrashing around in such pain it was indescribable, gas and air also having no effect.

after nearly 2 hours of exhausting pushing the midwife announces the baby hasn't budged an inch, runs to get a doctor who announces that baby had turned back to back and his head might be too big to fit through my pelvis and he will try forceps, but only twice before performing a ceasarian.
so im wheeled into theatre and get a spinal anasthetic which was heaven and had the strange sensation of trying to push but unable to feel a thing.
well the forceps didn't budge him either so there was a sudden flurry as people scrubbed up and the next thing i knew there a screen up, dh looking pale as death and a weird rummaging in my tummy and out popped baby.

the spooky thing was that a few days before the induction i had joked that baby seemed so happy where he was he would probably have to be dragged out by his feet.

I had a caesarian with dd after a long labour and getting to 10cms, she also got stuck. You think you may as well have had one to start with! Well done!
